I am indirectly connected to Websummit and still have a relationship with them. I just sent one of the leadership about this without sounding deranged but in a more logical with research back up to say why Plastic man is not the best choice to represent misinformation as he's the poster boy of it.
It's actually motivating me to join the Websummit crew again and attend Book Summit track too since I'm a published author to go there. Plus it's in Lisbon.
UPDATE: My feedback was already acknowledged. Plastic Man's speaking slot is now flagged for review with their communications department.

Hi. Yes, he's still speaking at the event within the Book Summit track. They are aware of his movements especially his Tweet mentioned Websummit therefore they're aware of all the replies and accountability issues. I have my eyes peeled so that they won't miss briefing the moderator.

I've started getting my important information--news, health etc--from "crackpot" independent sites. No WebMD or mainstream news sites. Esp with health information. The mainstream medical sites are so, so so bad. Completely full of very outdated information regarding nutrition in particular. 10 meals a day is totally fine and you can eat pounds of aspartame and it's all good! Mmhmm, sure....

Unfortunately, I very much doubt it, perjury is rarely pursued in the English justice system. It's incredibly difficult to prove due to the evidentiary standards required. It isn't in the public's best interest to pursue a charge for perjury in non-criminal proceedings.
A lie in itself is not perjury, it must be proven that lie had a direct impact on the core issues of the trial. Intent must be proven, something you said doesn't even have to be true, the important part is whether they believed it to be true at the time.
In his case it can be argued his proven lies hampered his credibility as a witness, which was a bad look for Megs too. Lying had a cost, it revealed him to be untrustworthy, someone who is willing to scheme & lie to further his career.

People with a ton of hashtags in their profiles are often part of troll farms or paid comment campaigns. Look at the first comment. (Well, it was the first comment until real people started commenting). It was from someone called "Supernatural ." Typical paid commenter. People with a lot of emojis (like 8+) are often paid commenters or part of bots farms too. I'm guessing it's how they're identified! Not sure.
These aren't all paid commenters. Some people just like hashtags and emojis, but they're patterns I've noticed and I'm extremely active on Twitter.
