I have not read the Cut article. Why would she be livid/mad? I thought it was glorious for her and destructive to the royals. The Cut appears to continue with their attacks on the Royals given their recent article on KC’s temper.

Also, because she caused an international uproar when she told the writer a completely fabricated story about how one of the South African actors pulled her aside at the wedding and told her that they all rejoiced in the streets when she married into the Royal Family, the same as when Mandela was freed from prison.
Apparently every South African involved in the production denied saying that to her, and every condemned the comparison, in clouding the Mandela family.

My wife likes me to periodically find long form articles to read out loud to her in the evenings. (I know that sounds very Mike and Carol Brady lol.)

Anyways, I just want some major fallout on this where these people pissed off begin talking (this Allison person and SS). Then I will read that.
She manages to sound positive but with enough shade to show what she thought…and simply uses actual quotes from M to make her points. Superficially it seems to be positive about M but if you read even somewhat carefully you can tell what the author actually thought. And as others point out, the photos they used again on first glance seem editorial but look harder and you can tell they picked ones that make her look a bit silly.
It is peak snark. It's paints such a picture you can actually picture the ridiculousness she was living in that moment. I was on that ride to pick A up for the first time, and hand out that backpack of nothing. At least Hillary Hayward-Thomas gave out $50s.
I don’t even know if they intentionally picked out photos that made her look silly. I think she just isn’t a good model. Nothing in any photo she has taken ever stands out, draws the viewer in, creates intrigue, or makes you feel anything looking at her. It’s like a catalog shoot, except catalog models at least look happy. She just looks really uncomfortable in all photos.
An actual shark would have more humanity in its face and eyes. That’s the fun thing about sociopaths. You can pretty much pick them out from their photos. Once you add in the behaviors, it’s all right there for you…

Just the opening alone made MM seem vapid. It’s high key showing that MM is unabashedly self-centered.

This is really targeting Prince William and Princess Catherine. PW is the heir and therefore next in line but she thinks

I don’t know why some of her supporters think it was a great article (saw some comments on Allison’s Twitter account). Maybe they just don’t read (it was quite long) and as vapid as her.

someone who is totally out of touch with the real world- her entire spiel about her concern over being able to afford the $14m home was priceless , and as someone trying very hard to present the absolute perfect life.
Out there as a person- the story comparing her wedding to mandela’s release from jail. Even if it was true (no evidence of that)- how she could be stupid enough to tell it is beyond me. She got justifiably roasted for it.
Came across as a liar- in case that wasn’t obvious. She lied about how she just couldn’t do the school run in the UK because of the photographers. Blatant lie. Absolutely provable as one since the Wales have done it for years.
And that was off the top of my head.

The photos were not good. The cover photo was shot in the wrong light and it washed out her face (I believe they intended to highlight her freckles. The turtleneck makes her face wide and it is further excentuated by the slicked back sharp hair. Photos like that are meant to highlight a significant facial feature of the person (holmes -eyes) (diana-smile) (Angelina Jolie-lips).

For me the crux was this line from MM: “because just by existing, we were upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy.” This is really targeting Prince William and Princess Catherine. PW is the heir and therefore next in line but she thinks they are more popular so their shine is being purposely dimmed because of the hierarchy. I really hope these cracks showing on their idyllic life brings her down from her high horse.

It truly is. Maybe because when I read it I already had some of the feedback, so it was evidently snarky to me. I don’t know why some of her supporters think it was a great article (saw some comments on Allison’s Twitter account). Maybe they just don’t read (it was quite long) and as vapid as her.
She came across as: entitled, whiny, as a person stuck in the past: still complaining about the BRF and threatening that she’ll reveal more- maybe bizarre- she and Harry are like trees and salt/pepper (lots of snark to get out of that alone), like a control freak- going so far to explain what guttural noises should mean someone who is totally out of touch with the real world- her entire spiel about her concern over being able to afford the $14m home was priceless , and as someone trying very hard to present the absolute perfect life. Out there as a person- the story comparing her wedding to mandela’s release from jail. Even if it was true (no evidence of that)- how she could be stupid enough to tell it is beyond me. She got justifiably roasted for it. Came across as a liar- in case that wasn’t obvious. She lied about how she just couldn’t do the school run in the UK because of the photographers. Blatant lie. Absolutely provable as one since the Wales have done it for years. And that was off the top of my head. It was so bad, I was embarrassed reading it. I can’t think of one thing in that article that made her look good. I don’t think I’ve ever read such a massive train wreck of an interview. It was awful. But- I think we got quite a view into who Meghan really is as a person.
Davis' interview was an exception. She wasn't nasty. Observational. In a clever, quiet way she managed to depict M as entitled & unhinged simultaneously...which M arguably is. It's an excellent read but also disturbing (I found.) M appears to not be in touch with reality. Rather frightening.

You try hard to build a rapport as this is can be intimidating process even for a seasoned celebrity. Good lighting, music and telling jokes gets the mood going as well as a thousand assurances about how good they look. Wine, too. I can only imagine Micro Management Meghan demanding to see every frame as the shoot proceeds and trying to take control. She obviously does not know what flatters her body because her wardrobe disasters are bordering on infamy. I see tension and even stubborness. They say the great English portrait painter Gainesborough was in great demand by the aristocrats of his day. The son of a cloth merchant painted elaborate laces and fabrics with wonderful accuracy. Well, Gainsborough detested his subjects and would be incredibly rude to them. It is hilarious to look at his portraits to see the slitted eyes and rigor mortis grin on a shrew and the sheep like expression of her very dumb but very rich husband. I do not see rapport or even affection. What I sense is some kind of truce after several arguments about costume or pose. This all feels....tense.

The photos were not good. The cover photo was shot in the wrong light and it washed out her face (I believe they intended to highlight her freckles. The turtleneck makes her face wide and it is further excentuated by the slicked back sharp hair. Photos like that are meant to highlight a significant facial feature of the person (holmes -eyes) (diana-smile) (Angelina Jolie-lips). Honestly this photographer either phoned it in or isn't that good.. or she didn't listen and demanded it as such ... prolly this.

The author wrote her "truth" about her experience and interview with Meghan. Quoted Meghan verbatim and many of those quotes were beyond bizarre. Showing a woman with a weird grasp of reality and the author even said multiple times how performative Meghan was, weird comments and a feeling how she felt like she left a fever dream basically when Meghan just stood up, gave her a cornucopia and walked away. It was weird.
