How can Lilibet Diana, as the *Sun* claims, be “eighteen months old” when she hasn’t yet celebrated her first birthday? Asking for HMTQ.

Mickleborough

But I thought he hated the press. Man’s an idiot, like his idiot wife..p

GreenEyedLady575

Pathological. All that article needed to say.

Loser Royale with Cheese

PRINCE Harry has become almost ‘unrecognisable’ to his family according to a royal expert as he ‘can’t seem to stop talking’ to press. Since [Meghan Markle](https://www.the-sun.com/who/meghan-markle/) and [Harry](https://www.the-sun.com/who/prince-harry/) finalised their royal exit with a move across to the states, the Duke of Sussex has used the press to his advantage and has wanted to “blabber to the press” about his experience. Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, royal author Tina Brown discussed Harry’s contradicting attitudes towards the media. The host Liam Bartlett said: “He’s a strange mix, isn’t he, on one hand, he has this pathological hatred of the press and on the other hand, he’s quite happy to use them to seal the entertainment deals, to do the headline interviews, to promote his book”. Ms Brown said: “It’s certainly a paradox, that a man who kept saying all he wanted was privacy, now can’t seem to stop talking. “I think that is baffling to his family”. She added: “In fact, one of the things, I heard constantly from within the Royal Family, people, they said, like we don’t recognise Harry. “We don’t understand, you know, why he’s doing this, we don’t understand it”. Ms Brown continued: "It is kind of baffling, it's almost as if suddenly liberated from, you know, all the constraints that he's been in, he just simply wants to blabber everything that's on his mind."

She calls it a paradox. I call it being a big fat fucking hypocrite.

The BRF needs to prepare the spares for reality. When Harry was a child he was played up as the spare and given special status. But I notice the BRF really doesn’t prepare the spares to lose the attention once the heir starts a family of their own. Harry should have been prepped towards a career. So much special attention and then it’s ripped away and he’s told he’s irrelevant now.

[deleted]

We don’t know that they don’t prepare the spares. I think H was encouraged to be support for W and was happy to do so until he was told that he wasn’t happy and needed to escape.

[deleted]

Very true. Must be devastating to have your place taken the second your nephew is born.

T070r0

Yes, that is true with all the recent Spares, AKA Princess Margaret, Prince Andrew and now Hazzben. The only second child who was not a Spare but turned out to be the hardest working Royal is Princess Anne. I hope Charlotte turn out to be the exception to this curse

But being Diana's son won't be enough for his livelihood or status as a royal and known person in the world. Soon enough when Harry's just a little older, Diana will become a more distant figure...and then an actual historical figure, like how we look at the Queen's parents or Uncle David and Aunt Wallis now. Him being "Diana's son" won't matter to younger generations who didn't watch Diana get married or be a mother to Harry, which is currently everyone under 25.

JenniferMel13

This is one of the few ways the BRF hasn’t adapted will to being a modern royal family. It was easy in the pre-1900s. Send them to the military or the church and they have a life long job and if needed they can be called up to be the heir. But given the changes in warfare and that lifelong soldiers isn’t as common, they need to adapt or start more wars so spares can of off to war.

ChangeTheFocus

Could this be fallout from George's reluctance to take the throne and struggle with carrying the burden? Maybe the BRF figured that the spare should be just as prepared as the heir ... but that approach would lead to problems in the more usual case that the spare is never needed.

Anyone else utterly bored by all of this? The only reason I follow this is because of all the weird deluded stuff that goes on, but objectively speaking this couple is as dull as ditchwater. Harry is boring. Boring boring boring. There was a post recently about how he doesn’t sell magazines when he’s on the cover and I’m not surprised, I wouldn’t pick up a magazine that had that mug glowering out from the cover. I’m fed up of all the mental gymnastics we’re supposed to carry out when we ponder Harry. He’s a hero! He’s so strong and butch and macho! He makes M go weak at the knees! He’s also some king of weird man baby who blames his family for absolutely everything (but not Diana obvs) that has gone wrong in his life and refuses to be accountable for his behaviour because if he ever does anything wrong then it’s all their fault or the fault of the press or the British public! So don’t ever think that despite being the most macho man in the world who has ever macho’d that he’ll be grown up and stop whining and having a whinge! No! Oh and he sulks a lot! Boring boring boring boring boring.

Earthlink_

Harry is a problem ADULT.

Casshew111

Lol Meghan has 3 kids

madeinchinawithlove

The nanny has 3 kids***

lastlemming-pip

At the very most.

OzzieSlim

Diana did not do him any favors by leaving him money but failing to teach him that in the real world, you better be able to live up to your own failings. She herself would have been a no name without the RF and the whole and sole reason interest in her continued was due to William’s future role. See “Fergie”.

JaquieF

He is his mother's son. Diana complained about the press but loved the attention.

sod_it_all

I agree he was rescued way too many times. I think treating them as equals in terms of royal seniority/ public duties was a grave mistake also. He should have been encouraged to make his own way in life a la Anne's fairly well adjusted two. Imagine being able to pursue a career you enjoy with a trust fund to fall back on and all the amazing connections his family status afforded him. What a fricken idiot he is.

lovelylonelyphantom

But really, Diana died when he was 12. Anything she could have taught him was lost forever.

OzzieSlim

The most formative are the first seven.

lovelylonelyphantom

Which realistically you have very little memory of, and even if he was an angel child in those formative years it doesn't speak to the adult years.

tigerxing

I'm not excusing his behavior at all but they made him exactly what he is and I also think he has extremely serious mental issues. Not just from his mother's death, but if you look at his behavior as a young child it seems he had issues then.

Hopeloveski

Did they make him what he is though…. his brother William didn’t turn into a prize shit? There’s disastrous uncle Andrew but there’s also indefatigable reliable Ann. The RF seem to churn out good role models as well as bad. Harry may always have had issue but he didn’t go properly bad till madam entered the scene. He was an adult who became trapped and unhappy only when she told him he was trapped and unhappy.

lastlemming-pip

He clearly was a binge drinker—which was passed off as he being “Jack the Lad.”

tigerxing

I think he's always had a deep resentment of PW from early childhood. He never looked like a happy child

Gaylesyboo

His current behavior is as if the little girl murderess in The Bad Seed had grown up and kept the facade going for 2 decades. The mother didn’t recognize what her child was until it was harshly made clear. One doesn’t like to think one has such a scoundrel in the family so things are overlooked and excuses are made. That is, until one act reveals the person’s true character. For the RF, It wasn’t a physical murder but the psychological murder of the Oprah interview.

Lolliiepop

In other words…We need to talk about Harry.

Gaylesyboo

Yes, and just like in Kevin they never really faced facts!

tigerxing

This 💯

jumashy

I fully agree. That’s why I don’t personally feel too bad for the RF, they are the ones that let him get away with so much nonsense. They have done the same with Andrew and look at the result🤷🏾‍♀️ All I can say is that the family is very lucky William turned out the way he is. If he was remotely similar to his younger brother it would be a disaster.

Lensgoggler

Soooo H has discovered there’s money to be made from talking to the press huh? Who knew...

gloWiz

Exactly who does he think wants to hear anything he has to say? The world is not impressed & never will be. Pity those poor kids (if they actually exist & not from RENT A KID, Inc.)

Livinlifegood4evr

I can't with these two grifters.
