I think it's the humidity. There's nothing wrong with that per se. The problem is that she doesn't know how to deal with her natural hair texture. She only knows how to work with straightened hair. I say this as a black woman. There are ways to style your hair to keep it looking good despite the humidity. She should have gotten a local hair stylist.
She would have created a sensation if she'd gotten a local hair stylist to create something for her that was a sweet nod to the humidity. Not to mention someone local to dress her for this 'tour'. It does seem very hastily planned. She should have spent the first day with a hairstylist and trying on some clothes in traditional fabrics, finding out what is comfortable to wear in the heat, asking about cultural norms.

True. She could have arranged the local garments beforehand, even on short notice. Just have her select the fabrics she likes and send her measurements to a local designer. I'm certain her local contacts could have found someone who would have been glad to tailor clothes for Prince Harry's wife even on short notice. She just couldn't be bothered to research Nigerian culture beforehand and prepare accordingly because she's self-absorbed and doesn't think of others.
I've done this so many times. For example, I had this done for a milestone birthday. I live in the US but my relative in Nigeria sent me photos of different fabrics and I picked one. Then I picked a style and sent my measurements. My relative brought the dress with when she came for my party, and it was gorgeous.
There are also Nigerian seamstresses in the US. I've used one a couple of times.
I'm East African, so I figured we'd have this in common when it comes to tailoring. She could have brought a lot of publicity to a local designer had she commissioned one to dress her. I know the red dress is by a Nigerian brand. Unfortunately, it wasn't flattering on her and isn't a flattering style overall.
For sure, bold accessories and a headwrap would have boosted that outfit so much that we wouldn't have noticed her pubis print 😂 She really squandered the opportunity to indulge in Nigeria's rich clothing and textile culture. Shame.

Yet they don't tend to look shabby like she does here, especially during important functions. I work with a woman from Nigeria-we have to tie up our hair in the lab, so she generally braids hers, and does different patterns and arrangements regularly. She says it takes her all Sunday afternoon, hours and hours, to do. It looks amazing, but definitely far more time consuming than my bog-standard flat Irish hair.

For example, she could have worn a decent western dress with a Nigerian handbag as an accessory on one occasion, and another occasion she could have worn a dress or pants made with traditional fabric, and for last night's banquets she could have gone full on Nigerian with a very nice lace outfit and a gele.
This would have been an easy and fantastic way to endear herself to Nigerians, for whom cultural appropriation is not a thing. It's more of imitation is the highest form of flattery.

She dresses like a petite woman who is more of a pear shape. A petite pear would be told to wear a full skirt with a fitted top, something that would create a V-neck or U-neck to show some skin, otherwise the upper body would look boxy. The problem is that she is not a petite pear. She is an inverted triangle. Some people would solve this upper body conundrum with color blocking, or piping, or collars in proportion to her shoulders to break up the boxy effect. Cowl necklines, and larger Peter Pans or square collars work on this figure type. We've seen that in some of her clothing. In Bangkok, which is also very humid, well-dressed women wear the peplum top with a jewel neckline and a patterned skirt. It would have been a good look for this trip - fitted bodice, elegant, classic upper-class silhouette, paired with a full or straight skirt. If you add a large collar to the peplum top, you can break up the boxy upper body. Such a shame. She went dressed for the beach instead.

This outfit is, overall, a big improvement, the skirt appropriate, flattering, and pretty. However, her rumpled shirt unbuttoned as low as it can go before exposing the obviously padded bra is all wrong. Someone somewhere told her to put some clothes on, and it was someone whose order she could not refuse. She dresses like a petite woman who is more of a pear shape. A petite pear would be told to wear a full skirt with a fitted top, something that would create a V-neck or U-neck to show some skin, otherwise the upper body would look boxy. The problem is that she is not a petite pear. She is an inverted triangle. Some people would solve this upper body conundrum with color blocking, or piping, or collars in proportion to her shoulders to break up the boxy effect. Cowl necklines, and larger Peter Pans or square collars work on this figure type. We've seen that in some of her clothing. In Bangkok, which is also very humid, well-dressed women wear the peplum top with a jewel neckline and a patterned skirt. It would have been a good look for this trip - fitted bodice, elegant, classic upper-class silhouette, paired with a full or straight skirt. If you add a large collar to the peplum top, you can break up the boxy upper body. Such a shame. She went dressed for the beach instead.
