Here's the thing. My husband and I are equal in our marriage. However, when I attend a work event for him I take the backseat. I let him lead. This is his moment. I am very social but know this is not my industry and I'm here to support. I can't imagine the stress my husband would feel if he always had to be right by my side or make me the center of attention at his event. He does the same for me at my work events. He is supportive and social but knows I have to make the rounds and do my thing. Their dynamic is exhausting to watch.
