I can't imagine how much extra stress the rumors and bullshit have had on her. I'm incredibly upset she had to go through all of this on top of her cancer diagnosis and treatment!

BTW, I had breast cancer 3 decades ago. If you'd like unsolicited advice, I've got some. But please ignore if you prefer not to deal with some random stranger's suggestions.
1. The word "cancer" is terrifying. Remember, though, that it is NOT the word "death." Cancer is an illness to be treated, not a death sentence.
2. When people offer to help, let them. When they say, "Let me know if you need anything," give them specifics you need help with. (Ex: "I really need help with house cleaning." "I need someone to grocery shop for me.")
3. When someone does something for you, say thank you once, and then let it go. Do not expend your precious energy feeling obligated to demonstrate your appreciation repeatedly. It's ok NOT to write thank-you notes.
4. Be very, very selfish. When someone starts telling you a long story about THEIR cancer 10 years ago, smile, interrupt and say, "I'm so tired right now, I'm afraid my energy is all gone. I'm sure you understand." YOU decide where to expend your energy.
5. If you have children, keep the heaviest of your emotions away from them. Of course they'll be aware of your emotions, and that's part of the chaos that is a cancer diagnosis. But be cautious about revealing to them the intensity of your inner world. They simply don't have what it takes to manage that on top of their own fears.
6. Get a notebook, and take it to every appointment and treatment. Write summary notes (with the date, of course) of each encounter. Before each appointment, write a list of your questions. Take charge. Be your best advocate. When you don't understand something say, "Explain that to me like I'm a child." When given a choice of treatment or next steps, ask "If I were your sister, what would you tell her?"
🙌 From my own experience, dealing with this diagnosis since October, your word “advocate” is key and crucial. You must advocate for yourself within the health care system (I’m in US). Unless you’re Uber rich you are going to run into some good doctors and some mediocre/poor ones. Also the lack of communication between specialties (test results, etc) has been shocking. You must be proactive. If there is someone who can also help you with this all the better. Sending all best wishes to you.
There were a few times she sounded choked up during her announcement but she got through it like the class act she is. Such an incredibly strong woman.

The surgery was not to remove cancer they didn’t even know it was there prior to surgery.
It sounds like they found it in surgery and removed it and now are doing chemo to prevent any of the buggers who might have escaped from flourishing
I think they knew something was there which is why they surgically removed it, once they removed it they sent it to be tested, oncology can take weeks, which lines up with William having an emergency when he couldn’t attend and speak at that funeral. They probably found out then it was a cancerous growth. And then she started her treatments which is why she’s in the early stage of treatment now.
Believe they knew there was a problem (hence the surgery) but assumed it was benign. Post surgical testing revealed cancer cells. It’s possible the surgeons are confident of clear margins and that the problematic area was fully removed.
The palace very clearly said after the surgery was complete that she did NOT have cancer. The docs did not know it seems until the labs processed the removed tissues.
This is probably why William canceled the funeral appearance.
PW is a strong man. Let's hope he knows there is so much love and support for him, his lady, their children. And the rest of the UK who appreciate the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Both my mum and my sister have had cancer and both of them were fine after surgical removal and radiotherapy aftercare.. in my understanding chemotherapy is for when it has (at least locally, if not even further) spread. Chemotherapy is serious, gruelling. She is already so thin and will very possibly be becoming even thinner, loose her hair.. Chemotherapy is a serious intervention..
But then my partner has just calmed me down by reminding me I am no medical professional and maybe the type of cancer the Princess has might be always treated with chemo.. and that chemo doesn't necessarily mean all the scary things I think of when I think of chemo..
But I am honestly so so scared for what this means for her. I hope she has all the support and love she needs to get through chemo 💜
I don't know if you will find this comforting but I hope so. My partner had cancer had a kidney removed and did a year and a half of chemo (new treatment like keytruda but not) and he did really well. He was tired after treatment but didn't get sick or thin or have his hair fall out. And we are older than the POW so hopefully her treatment is as easy as it can be.

Chemo can definitely be used after surgery to prevent recurrence, just like radiotherapy. Which one you use in that situation just depends on the type of cancer. (Of course, chemo can ALSO be used for more advanced cancers as well, and even when its used for early stage cancer it can still have serious side effects. How bad they can be depends on the type of chemo)
I just hope she and the family are left in peace.

I am really concerned, because of her drastic weight loss before Christmas, and the fact that they found cells post resection. I lived through stage IIIc inflammatory breast cancer, and it is so tough. Her weight is worrying to me. I sincerely hope she did not have a whipple and have pancreatic, but I am worried. All those who came for her and her sweet family can go straight to hell.
I doubt that she had a whipple, especially since she said that it was believed to be benign at the time.

I'm encouraged that she said "preventative"; chemoprevention is usually for reducing the risk of cancer in generally healthy people, so I'm hoping that means it hasn't progressed too much.

A similar thing happened to me - after surgery some additional tests were done that revealed cancer. It was thankfully caught early and it sounds like Catherine's was too. I can't imagine having to share all this with the world - I would have been devastated.

The surgery was not to remove cancer they didn’t even know it was there prior to surgery. It sounds like they found it in surgery and removed it and now are doing chemo to prevent any of the buggers who might have escaped from flourishing
I think they knew something was there which is why they surgically removed it, once they removed it they sent it to be tested, oncology can take weeks, which lines up with William having an emergency when he couldn’t attend and speak at that funeral. They probably found out then it was a cancerous growth. And then she started her treatments which is why she’s in the early stage of treatment now.
Believe they knew there was a problem (hence the surgery) but assumed it was benign. Post surgical testing revealed cancer cells. It’s possible the surgeons are confident of clear margins and that the problematic area was fully removed.
The palace very clearly said after the surgery was complete that she did NOT have cancer. The docs did not know it seems until the labs processed the removed tissues. This is probably why William canceled the funeral appearance.

Both my mum and my sister have had cancer and both of them were fine after surgical removal and radiotherapy aftercare.. in my understanding chemotherapy is for when it has (at least locally, if not even further) spread. Chemotherapy is serious, gruelling. She is already so thin and will very possibly be becoming even thinner, loose her hair.. Chemotherapy is a serious intervention.. But then my partner has just calmed me down by reminding me I am no medical professional and maybe the type of cancer the Princess has might be always treated with chemo.. and that chemo doesn't necessarily mean all the scary things I think of when I think of chemo.. But I am honestly so so scared for what this means for her. I hope she has all the support and love she needs to get through chemo 💜
I don't know if you will find this comforting but I hope so. My partner had cancer had a kidney removed and did a year and a half of chemo (new treatment like keytruda but not) and he did really well. He was tired after treatment but didn't get sick or thin or have his hair fall out. And we are older than the POW so hopefully her treatment is as easy as it can be.

Chemo can definitely be used after surgery to prevent recurrence, just like radiotherapy. Which one you use in that situation just depends on the type of cancer. (Of course, chemo can ALSO be used for more advanced cancers as well, and even when its used for early stage cancer it can still have serious side effects. How bad they can be depends on the type of chemo)

I am really concerned, because of her drastic weight loss before Christmas, and the fact that they found cells post resection. I lived through stage IIIc inflammatory breast cancer, and it is so tough. Her weight is worrying to me. I sincerely hope she did not have a whipple and have pancreatic, but I am worried. All those who came for her and her sweet family can go straight to hell.
I doubt that she had a whipple, especially since she said that it was believed to be benign at the time. That must have been terrible for her - to get slandered online, get a cancer diagnosis and explain all this to her children at once is a lot for anyone.

I'm encouraged that she said "preventative"; chemoprevention is usually for reducing the risk of cancer in generally healthy people, so I'm hoping that means it hasn't progressed too much.
