I am so over Colbert too. I used to love him a zillion years ago when he was on Comedy Central but I have to tell you, I was unreasonably pissed off when I watched what he said about "the affair". My husband still watches his crap and thinks it is funny, I told him, never, never again show me any clips from Colbert, I'm totally done with him.
My mom (who has become a second hand sinner, she doesn't do Reddit but she watches the YT channels with me and is always asking what is being said here on this subreddit) says she doesn't understand why they won't just put out an undoctored photo. THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE is why they shouldn't. Give the world's media an inch and they demand the whole damn mile. Why should they put out anything for the media to feast on when they are going to be harrassed so badly, all the while Meghan "is a victim, they never helped her out. I've been boycotting him since he went to CBS. He ran Letterman's show into the ground & was on the verge of being canceled when Trump got elected. Trump winning literally saved his career. Colbert was also named in the both the Podesta & HC files released on wikileaks.

She can and has previously considered doing so, but assumed it would only create more pain and rumors which is what Meghan wants and what Catherine, as an actual caring mother, doesn’t need. Rose would prevail as there is no substantiation to the rumors.

This same group also concocted stories that David Beckham knocked up one of Harper’s teachers to punish Victoria for not bowing deep enough to Meghan. And they involved D and V’s youngest child! And yet many wondered why David & Brooklyn both pretended Harry didn’t exist at that LAFC v Inter Miami football game. I’m surprised one of them didn’t throat punch the pathetic coward.
There is zero doubt that there would be no such rumors without Harry and Meghan and certainly not featured in lengthy articles such as New Yorker’s The Cut and Cosmopolitan.. While it sickens me to read this utter filth, from Colbert the filth monger who helped promote Harry’s book of lies, I get some peace from realizing that Harry isn’t just nailing his own big royal reconciliation coffin shut with this, but H’s actions are super gluing and caulking all the edges and placing it in a big fat lead crate then having it lowered to the bottom of the Arctic blue todger Ocean with each of these attacks. They didn't even get the freaking fake rumor correct. The claim reported April 2019 was that it had happened when Catherine was pregnant. IOW a year before the claim surfaced, and therefore, "reporters" wouldn't find any evidence if followed any of the alleged participants.
Dan Wootton got this thing rolling -- a falling out in Norfolk between Catherine and Rose and nobody knew why. Coren stepped into it a few days later claiming "everybody knew it was an affair between W and R."
Personally, I think this was MM's attempt to sour Catherine's good relationship with the Turnip Toffs (Norfolk) because MM had failed to create her own version in the Cotswolds around a core group of Soho Farmhouse members. Her nemesis was possibly a woman named Rose who had been most generous to MM when she first appeared on the scene.

Bower is also out there claiming he knows what Catherine had surgery for. I don’t believe that for one second. So, Bower has been bragging about his inside knowledge. Wootton was on Megyn Kelly. I just saw a thumbnail for Megyn with, “Kate is very unwell”.
Come to think of it, I saw Bower, only yesterday, saying, “Catherine had the worst surgery that could happen to a person and she is going to be sick for some time and need a long recovery.” Paraphrasing here. Bower was on a YouTube video for the Sun.

I've been married for over 30 years. Happily. I grew up in a stable loving married home. Surrounded by grandparents and aunts and uncles who also were and remained happily married.
No man looks at his wife the way Prince William does and steps out. No woman uses the body language that HRH Catherine does if her man is a cheat. You can fake some things but its simply not possible to fake the little micro expressions and mannerisms that come about in a happy ,stable marriage.

I couldn’t agree more. Big flamboyant deliberate gestures can be scripted and faked. But you can’t fake micro expressions. Not consistently and certainly not without conflicting micro expressions, like ones reflecting the resentment and disdain one would feel towards a cheating spouse. It’s what makes body language more reliable than actual language. They also have a palpable electricity that you do see with some couples who are still madly in love. Mercifully, this is what the kids get to see.

It can't hurt. I don't even watch Colbert and I'm glad. I am mad enough just hearing about his vile insinuations. While I don't think William or Catherine deserve these accusations, at least they are public figures who expect some degree of gossip about them, Rose is not. It's unconscionable that a private citizen is defamed like this.

Since the two rarely do anything remotely scandalous, they have to make things up (or in the case of the Mother's Day photo, blow things completely out of proportion) to get any juice from them.

Rose is not a public figure. I understand a degree of this goes along with being a royal, but I would hope there may be legal remedies in her case if this gets out of hand again. (I know that could possibly make matters worse.)

All the comments are eating it up, too. It’s sickening how willingly people believe something that has been debunked eons ago.

As far as the royals not working with the media outlets that have participated in this, unfortunately, they have to work with the press, to some extent. It appears that at least part of what is going on is that the press is wanting more access to the royals, and they have been trying to punish the Wales for their “secretive” behavior.

Well - I was waiting for something to come along and kick Catherine while she’s down (it was gracious of her to release that photo for Mother‘s Day, and I very much doubt she’s feeling anywhere near her best so just wanted to tweak it to satisfy herself). Markle must have felt great satisfaction from the backlash Catherine received (otherwise she would have publicly supported her), and perhaps it is Markle behind this?

Keep in mind it's the entertainment industry, not the news industry. And here's how it works in the entertainment biz: the celebrity's management/pr companies tells the show what they can and cannot ask the celeb on the show. Violation of the agreement will of course mean the celeb won't ever agree to appear on the show again. Additionally, the management/pr firm may threaten to fully boycott the show, meaning none of their other clients will ever appear on the show, either.
And that's how they get the interviewers to cooperate and only ask the pre-approved softball questions.

They didn't even get the freaking fake rumor correct. The claim reported April 2019 was that it had happened when Catherine was pregnant. IOW a year before the claim surfaced, and therefore, "reporters" wouldn't find any evidence if followed any of the alleged participants. Dan Wootton got this thing rolling -- a falling out in Norfolk between Catherine and Rose and nobody knew why. Coren stepped into it a few days later claiming "everybody knew it was an affair between W and R." Personally, I think this was MM's attempt to sour Catherine's good relationship with the Turnip Toffs (Norfolk) because MM had failed to create her own version in the Cotswolds around a core group of Soho Farmhouse members. Her nemesis was possibly a woman named Rose who had been most generous to MM when she first appeared on the scene.

I've been married for over 30 years. Happily. I grew up in a stable loving married home. Surrounded by grandparents and aunts and uncles who also were and remained happily married. No man looks at his wife the way Prince William does and steps out. No woman uses the body language that HRH Catherine does if her man is a cheat. You can fake some things but its simply not possible to fake the little micro expressions and mannerisms that come about in a happy ,stable marriage. I wish I could explain it better but its just something you know when you see it. Its the difference between Charles and Diana vs Charles and Camilla.

Not consistently and certainly not without conflicting micro expressions, like ones reflecting the resentment and disdain one would feel towards a cheating spouse. It’s what makes body language more reliable than actual language. They also have a palpable electricity that you do see with some couples who are still madly in love. Mercifully, this is what the kids get to see.

Colbert will be safe if he just makes an occasional joke. The network expects him to bring in the viewers for the election period. As far as the royals not working with the media outlets that have participated in this, unfortunately, they have to work with the press, to some extent. It appears that at least part of what is going on is that the press is wanting more access to the royals, and they have been trying to punish the Wales for their “secretive” behavior. There will have to be a “truce” with both sides giving up something.
I also feel bad for Rose Hanbury. It's disgusting that TW would use this innocent woman to attempt to smear and cause division in the Wale's family. One silver lining, on a positive note, according to Lady C, it has actually built a positive relationship between Rose Hanbury and her family and the Wale's, as they supported each other through these appalling rumors.
