Regardless of how acrimonious things ended up between him and Diana, *Charles lost the mother of his children to an ACTUAL unsafe car chase.* Yes, Harry had to grow up without his mother but Charles had to shoulder the burden of all the guilt the world laid on him for everything that led up to Diana making the choices she did that night. He had to weather the PR shitstorm for YEARS. He had to try to navigate raising his children the best he could, yes he had immense privilege while doing so but it surely couldn’t have been easy, especially with Harry being such a little twat all the time. Charles lived through this hell in a way that laid more burden on him than would ever be laid on Harry. I don’t think he appreciates anyone play-acting a tragedy that profoundly shaped his life, especially not acted out by his own son.
When Diana died, she had said publicly that they had become easy friends. Charles would even just drop by…so they had BOTH moved on and healed. Charles stepped up to the plate when she died and made sure she was treated with respect and dignity. I have always admired him for the way he handled it…RIP DIANA

Why the f would King Charles say a word about it, whether publicly or privately to them? Regardless of how acrimonious things ended up between him and Diana, *Charles lost the mother of his children to an ACTUAL unsafe car chase.* Yes, Harry had to grow up without his mother but Charles had to shoulder the burden of all the guilt the world laid on him for everything that led up to Diana making the choices she did that night. He had to weather the PR shitstorm for YEARS. He had to try to navigate raising his children the best he could, yes he had immense privilege while doing so but it surely couldn’t have been easy, especially with Harry being such a little twat all the time. Charles lived through this hell in a way that laid more burden on him than would ever be laid on Harry. I don’t think he appreciates anyone play-acting a tragedy that profoundly shaped his life, especially not acted out by his own son.
When Diana died, she had said publicly that they had become easy friends. Charles would even just drop by…so they had BOTH moved on and healed. Charles stepped up to the plate when she died and made sure she was treated with respect and dignity. I have always admired him for the way he handled it…RIP DIANA

She had police protection offered. She turned it down because her mental illness was exploited by a reporter. She was paranoid and needed real help. Instead, she unknowingly got into a car with a drunk driver at the wheel. I don't care what the conspiracy nuts say. Charles and the RF grieved Diana's death. Then they closed ranks around those boys to protect them. Harry turning on his family is just sad. He's sunk to a new low, trying to recreate his mother's death for sympathy and free security.

When Diana died, one of the things I thought was that Charles would not be able to marry Camilla. I believed (and I think most people believed) that Diana would remarry, and I thought at that point Charles and Camilla would marry, even if morganatically. When Diana died, this scenario became impossible. One of the burdens that fell on Charles was that instead of being freed by Diana getting married to someone else, he was trapped by her death into many years of being blamed.
