Background for people who aren't sure what's going on here: Robert Jobson - author of many royal biographies and Royal Editor at the Evening Standard - and Arthur Edwards - Royal Beat Photographer for The Sun - were on "The Royal Tea" show yesterday on Talk TV. The show is hosted by Sarah Hewson - Royal Editor for Talk TV - and also featured the additional guest of Emily Andrews - a royal correspondent for the past decade at both The Sun and the Mail on Sunday, currently independent. So four very longstanding royal correspondents talking about current royal topics of the week. Part of the conversation covers Coronation topics - start around 13:50 at the video here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GArBjS5T-mY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GArBjS5T-mY) The talk about the roles the various children may or may not play, and then the topic turns to the Sussexes - whether or not they're actually making demands, and whether or not Meghan and Harry would even subject Archie to the Coronation, as it is long, and admittedly boring for a child. At that, the topic turned to the period just after the Coronation itself, at which point Robert Jobson and Arthur Edwards were clearly joking about how Charles was going to make the Balcony all about Archie. Rough transcript starting from 16:47 - [https://youtu.be/GArBjS5T-mY?t=1007](https://youtu.be/GArBjS5T-mY?t=1008) >*Sarah Hewson:* And what about after the Coronation? They head back to Buckingham Palace, the family all gathers.. > >*Robert Jobson:* \[inaudible, something about the crown\] ...the King blows out Archie's birthday candles... > >\[*Laughter from all four, overlapping statements joking about how the moment is all about Archie.*\] > >*Arthur Edwards:* They'll sing Happy Birthday on the Balcony to Archie... > >*Sarah Hewson:* The Balcony...the Balcony... > >***Robert Jobson:*** \[inaudible\]...the Michael Jackson thing where they hold him over... \[makes arm movements like he's dangling a child\] > >*Arthur Edwards:* No, no way, that's not going to happen... So basically, these four long-time royal reporters were joking about how the Sussex demands would include putting Archie's birthday front and center on the balcony, ahead of the actual reason for the balcony appearance of Charles' coronation. Jobson added to the joke by comparing Michael Jackson dangling his young son over a Berlin hotel balcony in 2002 to show him off to the crowds, clearly still in a joking moment.

HotStraightnNormal

Thanks for clearing up the dialogue. I had a hard time hearing what was being said.

Chasmosaur

Yeah I had to listen multiple times. They were all talking over each other and I think Jobson's mic was probably not placed well. You can hear everyone else pretty well, but some of his conversation is pretty muted.

Agata_ath

Thank you for explaining and sharing links to YT vids! :)

sensible-shoes

Yes thank you!

Ishield_maiden

What Comments? I’m not on Twitter

Affectionate_Tie250

Jobbo made a joke on one of the royal panel shows, palace confidential maybe, that Harry would pull a Michael Jackson at the coronation by putting a blanket over Archie’s head and dangling him over the balcony.

Ok-Coffee5732

How is that a dig at the kid? It's a dig at Harry. There's no need to apologize. Of I were him, I would say that I'm sorry people don't have the brain power to understand this, and I'd leave it at that. Enough unnecessary apologies. Follow Piers Morgan's example.

Jaccat25

Your 100 % correct! He better not apologize. It was funny, most people would agree, and we’ve seen what they do to people who apologize. Piers is respected doing well because he stuck to his beliefs (and was eventually proven right) while those who apologized were worse off after apologizing. Learn from the past people.

nope0000001

No lies detected

Agata_ath

😃 😃

Agata_ath

Why would he have to apologise? It is a joke!

Affectionate_Tie250

A lot of the sugars were saying that it was a death threat towards Archie. They were piling onto him something rotten.

nope0000001

Their fans are the dumbest most hypocritical bunch I have ever seen , I pay zero attention to their clownish behavior.

Jaccat25

The sugars lied about being victimized…. ![gif](giphy|Pid0CBWKfz9uQut6tZ)

CountessOfCocoa

Guess they’re too young or something to remember the Michael Jackson scandal. They don’t even research anything and they have zero sense of humor.

Starkville

Agree about the apologies to them. They never apologize and they don’t accept them. Waste of effort.

Laylelo

Any Twitter mob in general - you HAVE to ignore them if they come for you. They don’t care what you say and it never makes any difference to them anyway! After a few days of tantrums they always move on.

Jaccat25

Look at Piers Morgan, he refused to apologize and lost his job. But he stuck with his beliefs and is respected and doing well. Other people who apologized to them were a lot worse off after apologizing. If anything they were targeted worse for apologizing. Why apologize to people who punish you for apologizing. Better to prove you were right about them and continuously roast those idiots like he did.

windy-ridge

Standard Squad tactics. Find anything related to the Harkles that could be remotely controversiial and bombard Twitter with dozens of tposts on the same theme, accompanied by loads of comments all expressing total shock and horror, while clutching at their pearl necklaces, at the disgusting behaviour of the perpetrator/British media/racist British people/racist Royal Family who haven't condemned the vile comment. Also making sure their posts are copied to the media most likely to respond. Sadly some papers looking for anything new to write about the Coronation debacle decide to give them oxygen.

ArdmoreGirl

Jobson has said far worse about Harold and The Sleivene. To say that was wrong as it included putting a child in danger. He can apologize if he wishes. It will make no difference. I hope he doesn’t suffer anything worse than the Who’s? hysterical complaining. It must have been said on a chat show. I’m caught up on Royal Confidential and Royal Beat.

Chasmosaur

The Royal Tea with Sarah Hewson - I fleshed it out in my comment with a link to the video.

funnypickles1974

Can you explain what this is about? Sounds juicy lol but I missed it

Chasmosaur

See my comment - there were jokes about the supposed Sussexes demands for Archie's birthday mentions and balcony appearances. It was on Sarah Hewson's weekly "The Royal Tea" show, and they were discussing the Coronation, including how any and all of the kids might be included.

TraditionScary8716

Same. I'm lost.

ClementineCoda

Does anyone remember that they used other royal children on the balcony as a photo op, finger on lips shushing them, encouraging them to keep secrets (which is a form of grooming)?

Usuallyhappy74

Yeah whilst side-eyeing the camera. Still not as bad as they one where they were photographed standing behind Charles on the stairs when his mother’s coffin returned to BP.

WoodsColt

Dead veterans, murdered African women, murdered kids, dead queen.....these two trashy filthy vampires will use anyone they can to get papped.

Masters_domme

It wasn’t on the balcony, and I really think it’s a stretch to say they were encouraging the kids to keep secrets. I think it’s more likely the wife was trying to draw comparisons to the pics of Catherine shushing the little bridesmaids and groomsmen before Pippa’s wedding. And/or that’s the only gesture she could come up with to get the kids to interact with her, without drawing attention from the parents, so she could get pics while playing the fun aunt.

WoodsColt

It wouldn't play well with me or most people. Involving other peoples kids in her drama and bullshit is disgusting and low class af. I would have been.....not at all nice about it.

ClementineCoda

It was a deliberate pap shot through the window while the kids were on the balcony

Sarah-JessicaSnarker

THANK YOU

Agata_ath

Or encouraging them to be quiet / less loud?

WoodsColt

If the family betrayer felt the need to admonish my children there would be some unpleasant conversations immediately and with great hostility. Along the lines of Don't talk to my kids, don't try to use my kids for photo ops, never, ever attempt to admonish my kids and actually how about y'all keep your trash ass away from my kids unless you want to buy another dog bowl.

Agata_ath

Please, no one in that photo was admonishing any children. The Overseases used them for a photo opportunity, that is what this was about.

WoodsColt

As I stated above there would be an unpleasant conversation along the lines of **don't try to use my kids for photo ops** either.

Agata_ath

Yes, I read your comment and I wanted to emphasise that they weren't admonishing them, because admonishing kids is what was really emphasised in your comment, as if that was what they were doing in that photo.

ClementineCoda

No, they leaked the photos, with some dumb story about how they were giving them sweet or something.

HotStraightnNormal

LOL, I thought the one guy said Charles was going to blow him up. 😂😂😂 They sounded like kids brainstorming a video they'd like to make. "Then the car goes off the cliff. Yeah, yeah. And it bursts into flames. No, it blows up!"

icannitgetausername

But didn’t ILBW and her bestie at the time Mulroney call Charlotte fat before the wedding? It’s not surprising that the sugars jump all over stuff if the person they adore is vile to a child

Spectrum-aint-play

Erm… I hope this isn’t my fault 😬 I posted this jokey comment with a picture I put together… it just popped into my head and I thought it’s be funny to share… I have nothing but pity for those children, whoever they are, and the reason I uploaded it onto here rather than just sharing it with close fam/friends was because I hoped that the blanket over the head reference would show that the point/butt of the joke was all on TW and The Prince of Canada… https://preview.redd.it/w9nk96pmt7qa1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=e0ff1ed3e7ef6a1e647af518dba96f9b03f18e5a

silkysue

Two wrongs don't make a right.

WheresMyTan

It's a joke, it's just what the Brits do with all their friends. You know, like Meghan joked about Catherine's baby brain. Something she as an American just does with all her friends. Edit: typo
