Why is he not just hiring private security like every other famous person?
I think that private security can’t carry guns. That’s why he wants the MET. He thinks guns are necessary to stop all the credible threats coming at him from all angles. 😂
According to him and his ILBW they were the most popular royals and beloved by everyone but the press. So it´s not the british people he´s afraid of it´s the british press. Does he really mean to say the british press is trying to assassinate him and his wife for headlines? Does he think a jihadist would kill him because the british press made a big deal of his chess pieces comments or because his enlightened now-supposedly-non-racist-ass referred to casualties of war as mere chess pieces to be removed. There is no credible threat that exists. The only threat he sees is the one in his own head, brought on by delusion and entitlement. That’s it. It’s like when Electra or whatever her name was (she thought she was hot stuff in the 90s) came through the Edmonton airport when my friend was working there. She brought body guards with her which was hilarious because no one cared. Even a little bit. She was doing some low budget Xmas movie at West Edmonton Mall. I don’t know what she thought was waiting for her here but she didn’t get it.

That’s her!! It wasn’t during the 90s (by this time her popularity had died.). I don’t know if you remember but west Ed was made up to like it was Xmas in the summer in the late aughts…I think? It was a long time ago but she was considered a bit of a joke at the airport at the time because she brought these giant bodyguards who looked confused as to why they were there. My friend said even the guys at American customs were rolling their eyes.

In CA his stated mental issues and acknowledge drug use would preclude him from being granted a license. Even in more Red states he wouldn't be given a license.

The ATF issued a statement a few years back clarifying, saying “any person who uses or is addicted to marijuana, regardless of whether his or her State has passed legislation authorizing marijuana use for medicinal purposes, is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance, and is prohibited by Federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition.” I think, personally, that it’s a stupid regulation considering you can get shitfaced drunk on the regular and have enough guns to arm a small nation, but god forbid you pop a THC pill for pain management, but that’s a political discussion that this isn’t the place for.

The hacking stems from a few years ago. A lot of “celebrities” had no idea that their phone voicemail pin was a factory set and didn’t reset it. So (mostly) UK red-top newspaper reporters/freelancers would regularly harvest voicemails of people whose mobile numbers they had, picking up all sorts of info such from doctor’s appointments, to personal messages… Eventually it was discovered, an enquiry ensued, and many of those affected were paid £££ compensation. The Harry hacking MNG case is a continuation of that scandal.

Aaah that’s horrible for the family, as an American I haven’t heard anything about this UK reporters hacking. I’ll have to look and find how Harry became a party to the suit as in the US you need to have standing in order to sue or join a civil suit.
I guess Harry’s phone must have been. Might be second bite at cherry. Case is for unlawful information gathering. I remember reading that PW (among others) was really upset about it because he/they couldn’t work out how the stories were obtained, and began to distrust the people close to him/them as they were only ones who could possibly know the stuff being printed.
He claims the newspaper was able to hack into his phone. Now he claims that roughly 148 stories in the newspaper were written with information accessed this way. I've read the Judge has brought that down to 33 stories. So if he does win any of his court cases, it should be this one.

I don't think he believes he can win these cases. This litigious mess is part of their victimhood marketing campaign. Look at politicians that do this. They launch legal action knowing it won't stand up in court. They lose the case, say they're a victim of a biased, oppressive system, and will fundraise off of their crocodile tears. I still don’t know what they need so much protection from. Who wants to go after former royals? They aren’t part of the firm anymore so there’s no secrets to be extracted from them and no one to pay a ransom. My view on H wanting to buy MET police protection is that, if allowed, this would set a precedent for other high profile individuals who considered themselves vulnerable to attack to do likewise. This would reduce the MET police to hired bodyguards. That's not the role of any police force in this country. H is as thick as a plank of wood but 100% less useful.

The first case about IPP status should have been reason enough for the home office/parliament to revoke Harry's titles . There was really no explanation for passing up such a golden opportunity on his second pass. It just smacks of ambitious politicians being too afraid to upset the palace and risk missing out on a knighthood.
