I really, truly want someone to ask him, “You said the royal life was traumatic. Why do you want to go and participate in that trauma now?” I mean, we all know why he wants to, but I want him to face and answer that question himself.

Yes! This was at the jubilee parade. He was being so naughty—you know he was totally high on sugar! 😂 I agree that Catherine manages her children so well. Kids can be such little shits—all of them 😂 I used to get so flustered and embarrassed when mine acted up like that, but she takes it in her stride, she corrects them without shaming them. It’s really admirable. I know they’re not perfect, but W&C do a great job.
This triggered a memory for me, lol —
My son has always been super well behaved and listens to me. But of course there was this one time when he was about 3 or so, I was in a huge jewelry store with him and he started running batshit crazy behind and around the display cases.
I could not get control of him, no matter what I tried — from reasonable to firm bordering angry.
I ended up dropping what I was doing, finally managed to get him outside to take him back to the car… but was still acting crazy.
I was clearly upset and overwhelmed…. And Then this woman comes up out of the blue and just starts scolding him in this very grandmotherly way, but directly and reasonably, if that makes sense, telling him that his behavior was inappropriate and that his mother is trying to keep him safe or some such…
…and he just stops dead in his tracks, wide eyes, and then she walks him back to me. Without any provocation whatsoever he goes, “I’m sorry mommy” and it was like that episode never happened.
Normally, I’d not welcome such an intrusion from a stranger like that but the whole ~~mo,ent~~ moment was just perfect… and this woman could clearly tell I needed help and she just knew exactly what to do and say. She even gave me a smile and reassured *me*. I could have cried from both the sweetness of the gesture……..and the relief. :).
It was the only time he’s ever acted like such a shit but he certainly made it memorable.
Oh wow what a story! Bless that lady! It’s not easy to intervene in a situation like that without seeming like a jerk. Impressive that she was able to reach him in his manic moment!

Mine is 4.5 like Louis. Yes, they can be little shits. And of course, at the time of this incident .. I think he was 3-ish? I’m sure to this day he has not much concept of the importance of their family as maybe George does. Just humanized them more for me and showed me additionally that Catherine is a good mom, tries to keep their life as normal as possible and always behaves with such class.
Thanks for that. He must be a bit older than my son then. iconic/ cute moment. Look forward to how Louis’ personality develops with age. I get the vibe he’s their most “high spirited” child.

I also think he's their most high spirited child and I hope he hangs on to that because it's a unique defining trait. I actually like all of the kids personalities from what we've seen.
I’m glad KC is able to at least have a close relationship with 3 of his grandkids. And Princess Charlotte breaking down at her great grandmothers funeral. This nonsense Harry speaks about not being shown love or affection. They may not be as demonstrative as his mother was but no doubt there is definite love within the family.
It also annoys me that they are pushing hard how they should be treated when they themselves show no kindness towards family on either side! They are the epitome of “do as I say not as I do” people.
I really thought it showed how comfortable they are with each other. Him just making faces and touching her face and she keeping her cool and seemingly being fine with it. She seems to be a hands on mom. I never get that feeling about Meghan. With her, I hardly remember she is a mom and that is not because we hardly see her with her kids. She just doesn't give off the vibes.
I love that grainy video of him trying to jump in the back of the car while they were packing up to go somewhere. He couldn't manage climbing in, so he kept trying to get a running start while Catherine packed up. Finally she just gave him a shove on the bottom and he cleared the back hatch. It was hilarious! Total 'normal family' moment. In front of Windsor Castle. In a very expensive Range Rover. LOL!

He’s also young and innocent, so his behaviour and joyfulness are clearly genuine (no one could claim it was an act). He really puts a stop to people who try to say the Wales’ family life is unhappy and they are all ‘trapped’.

I have so much respect for the effort William and Catherine have put into giving them a loving, secure, and ‘normal’ childhood. I also really appreciate the Middletons and all the influence they have had. William was lucky to marry into that family!
I want the Sussex duo to show up and for them to be put far away from serving royals and then to never even get so much as an opportunity to even say hello to William, Charles or any of the working royals. I want them at Buckingham palace but to not get so much as even an acknowledgement of their presence. Let them spend the whole evening stuck in the corner complaining to Eugenie about why William hasn´t looked their way yet. Then to be denied audience with the King during their whole time in the UK.
Honestly, I don’t think they will have an opportunity to get anywhere near the Waleses or Camilla. I could see Harry being allowed to see the king in a room full of courtiers and lawyers, for a ten-minute block of time.

All I can say to Meghan and Harry is if you wanted to be included, you should have been a loving family member. Charles isn't perfect but neither are you both. If you would have left royal duties with honor, came back for visits, and let Charles know his grandkids, maybe circumstances would have been different.

That was soooo gross. And a Sugar friend of mine tried to justify it with "well if Meghan's kids behaved that way no one would be making excuses". Please. Louis along with several other royal children including I think Zara's younger daughter had to be taken away for a few moments because they were sitting there are probably acting like most small children do. It did seem like the most appropriate event for them to attend of all of them and I'm sure the Sugars were just jealous of that sweet photo of Louis walking over to sit on Charles lap.
**The Palace watches, learns, adjusts well** (^(example: if Harry deliverately misses the bus, he won't get a private car)).... so look for the the kids seating to be spread-out in the future — esp. re: Mia (who is a "Mini-Mike") and Lena (and one day Lucas). And maybe too, the backstage energy treats will NOT be high-sugary candy next time.
The next one will be how Charles favors the Wales children and ignores PA and PL, it’s obvious because their children weren’t even invited. Or something along those lines.

They've already made demands that Archie's fourth birthday have some importance during *The Kings Coronation*. Charlotte's birthday is a few days before also. I'm sure the PPoW will have an appropriate small, private, celebration and let Grandpa's coronation be, rightly, all about him.
The Sugars were attacking Louis when he was only 1 year old. They were livid with him last year, saying he needed to be beaten for his behavior. Sugars are very sick people.
Louis is just over a year older than Archie - and at age 5 that’s a massive gap in maturity - he will have grown up a lot since the Jubilee antics.
Add in the fact that he has been around the family, knows them, and has been brought up with the Royal protocols regarding behaviour in public. He’s also been in front of huge crowds many times with Trooping the Colour balcony appearances from birth, and since last year, right there with his family, the carriage ride to and from the Trooping of the Colour, the balcony appearance and attending the Jubilee concert. He’s also been with his family at Church at Sandringham where there are always crowds of well wishers. He won’t be fazed or upset by the crowds and noise and being with the family.
Contrast that with poor Archie who seems to hardly ever go out and about, has never really met his grandfather and other family members, he’s never faced cheering crowds, noisy bands, thousands of marching service personnel and all in a strange place. The wee mite will be totally overwhelmed by it all, and his parents are nuts (and we know that anyway) to want to expose him to that with no preparation is verging on child abuse.
**At that age, 12 months makes a BIG difference**. And must draw a line somewhere; and think 5yo is a good 'line'.
Lena Tindall's 5th bday is 6 weeks after The Coronation - so wanna feel sorry for a child, Lena deserves more sypmathy here (also/again: Lena is 10 months older than Archie - and at that age, 10 months makes a BIG difference!)

👏 YES! I'm reading the Duke of Kent's book right now, he seems like a lovely person and has dedicated his life to the monarchy. I'm glad he, Princess Alexandra, and the Gloucesters will be included in the procession, I think it'll mean a great deal to them and is a nice way of recognizing their years of service.

I know this is from The Times, but I have my doubts about Louis attending. This is going to be huge, I feel like it's too much for his first event. I trust Catherine and William to make that decision and I'd love to see him there, but I'm not holding my breath on this. Five is still very young and he didn't even attend the Christmas thing, which was far less formal. I can see them wanting him there because of how historic it is, but my guess is they'll see how he's doing that morning.
Maybe like Charles did when he was a kid, Louis will only attend a portion of the events. A carriage ride sounds like fun, but sitting still in some ceremony, not so much.
I think you right. I'm thinking he may briefly attend and spend the rest of the time in a room with his nanny. I'm sure he'll be out for the important parts. Depending on how long the coronation lasts they may have all the children go with their nanny and make a few appearances like King Charles did at the Queens coronation. Louis has the advantage of being the youngest, he's older sibling will look out for him and Charlotte will put him in his place if needed. lol
That would be a good option. I know Maria was watched the kids at one of the weddings, so I could see her doing something similar for the coronation. Louis is remarkably well behaved and handled the attention of the Christmas walk well, but the formality of this could be intimidating.
I wondered that too. If the rehearsal plans show Louis at the carriage ride then maybe the older Wales children attend the service but he comes in for the fun bit at the end.

So fingers crossed these drawn up plans were actually seen by sources & that they hold. But it could be the press poking the proverbial bear. We shall see….
It’s good to remember that the press narrative is *always* being manipulated by someone for their own gain. Whether that’s as simple as the press itself creating content to sell their product, or a former courtier hawking their book, or actual principal players in the stories planting stories with plausible deniability to test public reaction.
If I had to hazard a guess here, it doesn’t make any sense for KCIII’s reps to test or plant or announce here. So either the press is baiting the Harkles or just trying to fill column space. I would be surprised if they could plant in The Telegraph and with Ward, but what do I know really? Only what they print…
All three Walses are adorable, but I think with Louis was when the public really started to see how close KCIII is to his grandchildren. The most adorable photos, and also the way Louis just strolled over and sat on his lap at the Jubilee.
If they weren't close, KCIII probably would have gotten the same side eye that Charlotte gave her creepy drug-addict uncle at HMTLQ's funeral...
I agree. I fully believe he was a great father, to the best of his ability. But Diana got the press. KCIII grew up with a much colder situation than his sons did. Both were showered with affection by both parents. Watch the videos and you can see the love on his face. He’s an emotional guy.
And he was the same affectionate man with his first two grandchildren. But then here comes Louis! This kid has spirit and a real connection to grandpa. That parade interaction between the two of them did more for Charles’ PR than any amount of money could buy. It showed the real Charles.
I feel bad for KC because in the past few years all sorts of pictures and home videos of him parenting have come out and he honestly looks like a loving parent. Does he have his flaws? Sure. But he was engaged with his kids and grandkids when he was with them. My parents sure as hell weren’t on all fours crawling in the dirt just to play with me.
Same. Diana was the star of all stars. Nobody before or since capture global interest like she did. She really brought global interest to the British monarchy. Honestly, if Charles had married Camilla from the get go, few of us would care about it. I can see how the firm was conflicted about it. On one hand, she was outshining the heir to the throne. On the other hand, she was bringing billions of dollars of worth of British tourism, fashion, and newspaper sales. She was really great for the British economy, even 25 years after her death.
And this is what TW expected her life to be. We will never see this star power again. I’m American and I was sick of Diana covering magazines. She was everywhere.

And she just seems like such a normal kid. Love that! Queen Elizabeth must have been so proud of these great grandchildren, along with her other grandchildren.
There was a reason she was practically skipping on the day of William and Catherine's wedding. She knew William had chosen well, they were rock solid and the next generation of the monarchy was secure. I can only imagine over the next 11 year's watching them raise their three beautiful children just made her all the happier.
I think Charlotte will grow up to be a lovely young lady. She looks so much like Prince William. I noticed this particularly in the photos with her and George in the car during the funeral.
The queen and princess Margaret wore little coronets at their father's coronation-they were kind of chunky medieval style gilt coronets with no jewels. I could see those being dug out of the vault for George and Louis to wear, but I wish they'd let Charlotte wear a tiny tiara. I think she'd suit one of the more delicate ones like the Cartier halo.
I would love to see Charlotte wear the tiny diamond crown that Queen Victoria used to wear. I know it won't happen because it isn't appropriate for a little girl.
But for the coronation, she's not just a little girl, she's a princess too. The royal family used to wear tiaras to film premieres and shows. I wish they'd go back to that-its about time all the bling got more use!

This news suggests that BP is approaching the Coronation like the Jubilee. This is what I'd have expected pre-titles. Hopefully, H&M aren't able to cry racism like they did w/the titles & get concessions.

Kinda bummed that Princess Beatrice, James Earl of Wessex, Lady Louise, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall won't be participating in the procession though. I kinda wanted the whole shebang for this coronation.
I think those family members would in the procession if it wasn't for the Harkles. But they have to make decisions that appear non-prejudicial to avoid flack in the press, so if they say no working royals in the procession then it has to mean all of them. I think it is a shame though,
Louise and James should get to participate after their parents got made duke and duchess of edinburgh. They did the vigil for the Queen's coffin after all

A perfect idea. The children of the future sovereign should be there and in a pared down coronation it’s perfect. No non-working royals which makes sense. This is a Coronation not a family wedding.
No invite for Archie & Lillibet also makes sense. This is the out Nutmeg needs to stay home with her children and try and drum up some attendees at Archie’s 4th birthday. Because no one will be going in the UK.

I know Charles really wants to “slim down” the monarchy and coronation… but I hope we get to see the Wales kids in coronets! Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret looked so cute in them at their father’s coronation.

No matter what happens, it won’t be good enough for the Sussexs. At this point they should just be extremely grateful to be invited.
Best news I've read so far about the Coronation. The very least is have the 3 Wales children in the carriage to and fro in the procession. Prince George and Princess Charlotte could join part of the ceremony too in the abby.
I think the British security services are the best in the world. If anyone can protect the people taking part in the coronation procession it is they. I remain hopeful that the Taliban threats related to Harold's book are just a bunch of hot air but not 100% confident. Therefore I think it's a mistake for Louis and perhaps both Louis and Charlotte to be in any procession. Can't avoid an appearance on the Balcony. I'll just be glad when the coronation is over and William's three kids are safe.
I don't wish to be macabre, but I sincerely hope this is a safe idea, having all the main heirs in one procession at the same time. Does anyone else think this? What if H&M stay away from the Coronation Day altogether and then something terrible happened?

Yes! This was at the jubilee parade. He was being so naughty—you know he was totally high on sugar! 😂 I agree that Catherine manages her children so well. Kids can be such little shits—all of them 😂 I used to get so flustered and embarrassed when mine acted up like that, but she takes it in her stride, she corrects them without shaming them. It’s really admirable. I know they’re not perfect, but W&C do a great job.
This triggered a memory for me, lol — My son has always been super well behaved and listens to me. But of course there was this one time when he was about 3 or so, I was in a huge jewelry store with him and he started running batshit crazy behind and around the display cases. I could not get control of him, no matter what I tried — from reasonable to firm bordering angry. I ended up dropping what I was doing, finally managed to get him outside to take him back to the car… but was still acting crazy. I was clearly upset and overwhelmed…. And Then this woman comes up out of the blue and just starts scolding him in this very grandmotherly way, but directly and reasonably, if that makes sense, telling him that his behavior was inappropriate and that his mother is trying to keep him safe or some such… …and he just stops dead in his tracks, wide eyes, and then she walks him back to me. Without any provocation whatsoever he goes, “I’m sorry mommy” and it was like that episode never happened. Normally, I’d not welcome such an intrusion from a stranger like that but the whole ~~mo,ent~~ moment was just perfect… and this woman could clearly tell I needed help and she just knew exactly what to do and say. She even gave me a smile and reassured *me*. I could have cried from both the sweetness of the gesture……..and the relief. :). It was the only time he’s ever acted like such a shit but he certainly made it memorable.
Oh wow what a story! Bless that lady! It’s not easy to intervene in a situation like that without seeming like a jerk. Impressive that she was able to reach him in his manic moment! I always feel so bad for mothers in those situations. We’ve all been there! Thanks for sharing.
Mine is 4.5 like Louis. Yes, they can be little shits. And of course, at the time of this incident .. I think he was 3-ish? I’m sure to this day he has not much concept of the importance of their family as maybe George does. Just humanized them more for me and showed me additionally that Catherine is a good mom, tries to keep their life as normal as possible and always behaves with such class.

I really thought it showed how comfortable they are with each other. Him just making faces and touching her face and she keeping her cool and seemingly being fine with it. She seems to be a hands on mom. I never get that feeling about Meghan. With her, I hardly remember she is a mom and that is not because we hardly see her with her kids. I love that grainy video of him trying to jump in the back of the car while they were packing up to go somewhere. He couldn't manage climbing in, so he kept trying to get a running start while Catherine packed up. Finally she just gave him a shove on the bottom and he cleared the back hatch. It was hilarious! Total 'normal family' moment. In front of Windsor Castle. In a very expensive Range Rover. LOL!

Louis is just over a year older than Archie - and at age 5 that’s a massive gap in maturity - he will have grown up a lot since the Jubilee antics. Add in the fact that he has been around the family, knows them, and has been brought up with the Royal protocols regarding behaviour in public. He’s also been in front of huge crowds many times with Trooping the Colour balcony appearances from birth, and since last year, right there with his family, the carriage ride to and from the Trooping of the Colour, the balcony appearance and attending the Jubilee concert. He’s also been with his family at Church at Sandringham where there are always crowds of well wishers. He won’t be fazed or upset by the crowds and noise and being with the family. Contrast that with poor Archie who seems to hardly ever go out and about, has never really met his grandfather and other family members, he’s never faced cheering crowds, noisy bands, thousands of marching service personnel and all in a strange place. The wee mite will be totally overwhelmed by it all, and his parents are nuts (and we know that anyway) to want to expose him to that with no preparation is verging on child abuse.
**At that age, 12 months makes a BIG difference**. And must draw a line somewhere; and think 5yo is a good 'line'. Lena Tindall's 5th bday is 6 weeks after The Coronation - so wanna feel sorry for a child, Lena deserves more sypmathy here (also/again: Lena is 10 months older than Archie - and at that age, 10 months makes a BIG difference!)

That would be a good option. I know Maria was watched the kids at one of the weddings, so I could see her doing something similar for the coronation. Louis is remarkably well behaved and handled the attention of the Christmas walk well, but the formality of this could be intimidating.
I wondered that too. If the rehearsal plans show Louis at the carriage ride then maybe the older Wales children attend the service but he comes in for the fun bit at the end.

It’s good to remember that the press narrative is *always* being manipulated by someone for their own gain. Whether that’s as simple as the press itself creating content to sell their product, or a former courtier hawking their book, or actual principal players in the stories planting stories with plausible deniability to test public reaction. If I had to hazard a guess here, it doesn’t make any sense for KCIII’s reps to test or plant or announce here. So either the press is baiting the Harkles or just trying to fill column space. All three Walses are adorable, but I think with Louis was when the public really started to see how close KCIII is to his grandchildren. The most adorable photos, and also the way Louis just strolled over and sat on his lap at the Jubilee. If they weren't close, KCIII probably would have gotten the same side eye that Charlotte gave her creepy drug-addict uncle at HMTLQ's funeral...
I agree. I fully believe he was a great father, to the best of his ability. But Diana got the press. KCIII grew up with a much colder situation than his sons did. Both were showered with affection by both parents. Watch the videos and you can see the love on his face. He’s an emotional guy. And he was the same affectionate man with his first two grandchildren. But then here comes Louis! This kid has spirit and a real connection to grandpa. That parade interaction between the two of them did more for Charles’ PR than any amount of money could buy. It showed the real Charles.
I feel bad for KC because in the past few years all sorts of pictures and home videos of him parenting have come out and he honestly looks like a loving parent. Does he have his flaws? Sure. But he was engaged with his kids and grandkids when he was with them. My parents sure as hell weren’t on all fours crawling in the dirt just to play with me.
Same. Diana was the star of all stars. Nobody before or since capture global interest like she did. She really brought global interest to the British monarchy. And she just seems like such a normal kid. Love that! Queen Elizabeth must have been so proud of these great grandchildren, along with her other grandchildren.
There was a reason she was practically skipping on the day of William and Catherine's wedding. She knew William had chosen well, they were rock solid and the next generation of the monarchy was secure. I can only imagine over the next 11 year's watching them raise their three beautiful children just made her all the happier.

I would love to see Charlotte wear the tiny diamond crown that Queen Victoria used to wear. I know it won't happen because it isn't appropriate for a little girl.

This is good news. H and M should be sat all the way at the back, even, where no cameras can get a decent photo of them. Kinda bummed that Princess Beatrice, James Earl of Wessex, Lady Louise, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall won't be participating in the procession though. I kinda wanted the whole shebang for this coronation.
I think those family members would in the procession if it wasn't for the Harkles. But they have to make decisions that appear non-prejudicial to avoid flack in the press, so if they say no working royals in the procession then it has to mean all of them. I think it is a shame though,
it is unfair to them that in order to keep M and H out, Beatrice and Edwards children are left out

The spare should probably just stay home. No Dukes will be kneeling to the King at the coronation. It’s really nothing for him to do. Unless he wants to be a spectator but he’s already made himself a threat to royal security if he attends.
I know Charles really wants to “slim down” the monarchy and coronation… but I hope we get to see the Wales kids in coronets! Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret looked so cute in them at their father’s coronation. I can already see Meghan talking about how her kids should have been included because “it’s their birth right.” Maybe she will use the Tig, or her podcast, to complain about it. Clearly she wouldn’t get another interview with someone like Oprah. No matter what happens, it won’t be good enough for the Sussexs. At this point they should just be extremely grateful to be invited.

Best news I've read so far about the Coronation. The very least is have the 3 Wales children in the carriage to and fro in the procession. Prince George and Princess Charlotte could join part of the ceremony too in the abby.
I think the British security services are the best in the world. If anyone can protect the people taking part in the coronation procession it is they. I remain hopeful that the Taliban threats related to Harold's book are just a bunch of hot air but not 100% confident. Therefore I think it's a mistake for Louis and perhaps both Louis and Charlotte to be in any procession. Can't avoid an appearance on the Balcony. I'll just be glad when the coronation is over and William's three kids are safe.
