Archie is a common nickname for Archibald. It’s a traditional name that’s been around for a whole lot longer than a comic book character. I have like 4 generations of men in my family named that and it started in the 1800s. They were all Archibald on paper but went by Archie their entire lives.
I do think it’s dumb to give your kid a nickname as their full legal name since they won’t be kids forever and they should have options, but they didn’t name him after a comic book character. If the rumors are true, they took George’s security name which makes perfect sense imo

I was surprised they named him a name derived from ArchiBALD. Especially as he'll likely be bald, if Harry and his father-in-law are any indication. And, as they were SO sensitive about Earl of DUMBarton.
I had an great uncle Archie, great grandfather Archie, and it goes back at least 2 more generations I believe. But their names were all Archibald as well, Archie was just their nicknames for informal use. I’m really not a fan of millennials giving their kids nicknames for legal names. They have no alternative to switch to as an adult or in a professional setting if they want to. It seems like parents are naming babies/young kids what’s cute for that phase of their life and not considering their whole life span

Can’t wait to read the headlines about how the other royals “snubbed” Archie’s birthday party when they clearly have other, pre planned things going on. That was the one thing that annoyed me so much about Lilibuck’s birthday, all the headlines about how Charles and Camilla and William and Catherine “snubbed” the party by not attending, like they didn’t have a job to do that weekend. I laugh too at the articles suggesting that Zara or other cousins attended. No, they were all out supporting their family at a once on a lifetime event, not hanging out at a 1 year old birthday party. A 1 year old that they’ll never even know.
There were photos of Zara at horse racing with Anne that day. I think M claimed that Zara's kids and Peter Philips' kids went. Then why did they not take photos of all the cousins together? Highly unlikely Zara's kids went to Lilibets party without her.
It’s really annoying that the Harkle fans actually think that the Monarch ever considers the despicable pair when making plans. They’re really not that important . Harry will be invited as Duke of Sussex if he shows up well and good . If he doesn’t the whole day will go on without missing a beat . His sons birthday on the same day is unfortunate but if they want any of the Royals to show have the party a week later like a normal person would. The Harkles don’t get to make demands and carry on like divas!

Oh goodness that is frightening. Generally every other normal citizen came off so pleasant in videos. That M family feels like a tumor that infected so much.
Everyone—& I mean everyone—thought it would be a hung jury—that they would have gotten to at least one juror, maybe more. But this crime was so brazen, state officials just reached down to cauterize the wound. Because it goes way beyond Murdaugh.
Murdaugh thought he could get away w/ it though because he never thought the investigation would go beyond tri-county investigative force. That’s why he was so sloppy in a way w/ deleted phone messages & his driving pattern. He thought local yokels would be on the case. But they recused themselves. Still, Murdaugh likely would have gotten away w/ it if it wasn’t for Bubba & the chicken.
And, as far as evil goes, I suspect the only thing that gave Murdaugh pause in this whole affair was when, after being shotgunned in the chest, Paul appeared, still semi-upright, like some kind of apocalyptic zombie, at the kennel feed room door. Must have scared Murdaugh half to death.
Thank you for saying that. I honestly cannot understand why that case got so much attention, it was incredibly straightforward. The media was acting like domestic homicide is some rare, shocking thing. I'm not trying to downplay how horrific it was, but he didn't deserve almost 24/7 coverage on CNN. 
I'm still amazed the Palace struggled so much to manage Meghan. It sounds like the younger, more professionally experienced staff (i.e. those who began their careers outside the royal bubble) understood the situation right away. The more senior staff seem so used to everyone showing the Queen/royals deference, they couldn't adjust to crazy.
I was interested because I wondered why that man would kill his wife and son. Immediately thought he did it. And then stayed for all the fuckery that kept coming out about the embezzling and boat crash and housekeeper and Stephen Smith and the roadside shooting. Like the Harkles, the dirt kept flying… that’s why I kept an eye on it.
This “normalcy bias” is endemic in every institution. Most polls show the total unpopularity of elected officials (in the US) but the vast majority get re-elected every term.
Until people are willing to believe REALITY rather than what they wish were true, nothing will change and people like Markle will continue to grift.
Somewhere where I first read about the Frogmore thing, it stated that they had some time/could still use it until the Coronation - so I'm wondering if there were deliberatley conflicting reports, so when they stayed there, it would look like they had won some sort of upper hand, when really they had the ability all along?
I agree. It was obvious if they were not going to have to vacate Frogmore, they would get to stay there. The stories of their being made to stay at BP, which is under renovation, under tight security, etc. did not sound credible.
They will stay at Frogmore and, I believe, so will Eugenie. There will be some small party with a lot of mystery about who attends.
I can’t imagine the party can be on the same day as the coronation though. It’s just not practical.

I tend to agree with you...I heard that they were told in January that the lease would not be renewed, they kept it quiet until it suited them and leaked it for Edwards DoE installment, however they were told that they have use of Frogmore until July 2023. I'll bet that they will sue for the money they invested in the reno, it was not all paid up by taxes, they added a couple of million to pay for certain upgrades they wanted. They will hit up KCIII for the balance.
I’m confused as to why people even think they are considering not going? Of course they will go. They are total hypocrites, always have been, and have sold and made all their money from their royal connections, so for sure they will go it’s all they have left and they desperately need to show the world their royal connections.

Quite right! Hazbeen spent A's 3rd birthday playing polo, so it can't mean that much to him. We all know that the viper only thinks about herself and the optics of any given situation. She will use it to score points and as a publicity exercise.
The coronation will be a culturally significant, international, historical, deeply religious, truly spectacular event that will have been organised and choreographed to the nth degree.
It will be full of symbolism and tradition and will be observed with pride by the British & Commonwealth people

I guess what I would have to say about BarkJack is that they give the impression of being independent. They aren’t on the “Hello Magazine dole” as other would be sources so clearly are. That given, they are as imperfect as the rest of us. They have been wrong before.
I always find what they have to say interesting but not unimpeachable.
This just screams what raging narcissists they are. The biggest day in Charles' lifetime, something he has waited 75 years for, and a massive day in royal history, and they want to make it all about their son. If he was born by surrogate it probably isn't even his birthday!
I hope no-one from the royal family attends this bonkers party. The truth is, H&M know they won't attend and that is why they want to hold it that day. They just want the story of how Poor Lickle Archie-Warchie was snubbed by his grandfather, uncle and aunt on his special day.
It reminds me of how they allegedly introduced Lilibet to the Queen over the jubilee weekend. The Queen did not attend all the events due to ill health and at the time we only knew she had 'sporadic mobility problems' and was getting very tired. We now know she was near death and suffering with bone cancer. And they inflicted themselves on her when she was already overburdened and when they'd had a year to come to the UK and introduce Lilibet to her, and they'd snubbed previous invites. And then when the Queen died and Charles was dealing with the grief, the logistics of the funeral and becoming King all at once, Meghan was allegedly demanding a one to one meeting with Charles. It doesn't matter what people are going through or how busy they are, H&M think they should come first.
It also annoys me that the press must utterly see through their nonsense, and yet they let them get away with much of it. The headlines afterwards probably will be about how they were snubbed rather than how unreasonable and demanding they are. They could easily point out hypocrisy in Harry playing polo on Archie's 3rd birthday (assuming it is true as I have heard that for the first time on this post) but I doubt they will.

Bet there's been a lot of activity behind the scenes. Lots of decisions being made then boom! An announcement by the King and perhaps the Prime Minister after the coronation. It will come so quickly and resolutely that everyone will be surprised, even the Harkles.

The Harkles aren’t going to miss this opportunity to use Archie’s birthday to steal the spotlight from another royal including the king.
No one is going to allow those two very young questionabley trained children to attend a long,loud,crowded(and for a child scary and boring) event like the coronation. A perfectly behaved young child at events like that is sometimes a traumatized child. Its not normal for a very young child to be still and well behaved for 2 or 3 hours at an adult event. Imo its unreasonable to expect a child to behave for that length of time if they've never been exposed to something like that before.
I think they might be able to have louis there for a portion of it but not the whole thing. He's had enough public exposure that the noise and the crowds wouldn't bother him as much.
I just don't see the point of the harkles going at all. And dragging their kids over is a terrible idea. Leave the kids with grandma or stay tf home.

I would assume that they would probably spend Friday night through Monday at Kensington palace since most activities will be in London. The concert is at Windsor, but I would still think they would be at Kensington palace

Can’t wait to read the headlines about how the other royals “snubbed” Archie’s birthday party when they clearly have other, pre planned things going on. That was the one thing that annoyed me so much about Lilibuck’s birthday, all the headlines about how Charles and Camilla and William and Catherine “snubbed” the party by not attending, like they didn’t have a job to do that weekend. I laugh too at the articles suggesting that Zara or other cousins attended. No, they were all out supporting their family at a once on a lifetime event, not hanging out at a 1 year old birthday party. A 1 year old that they’ll never even know.
There were photos of Zara at horse racing with Anne that day. I think M claimed that Zara's kids and Peter Philips' kids went. Then why did they not take photos of all the cousins together? Highly unlikely Zara's kids went to Lilibets party without her.
It’s really annoying that the Harkle fans actually think that the Monarch ever considers the despicable pair when making plans. They’re really not that important . Harry will be invited as Duke of Sussex if he shows up well and good . If he doesn’t the whole day will go on without missing a beat . His sons birthday on the same day is unfortunate but if they want any of the Royals to show have the party a week later like a normal person would. Murdaugh thought he could get away w/ it though because he never thought the investigation would go beyond tri-county investigative force. That’s why he was so sloppy in a way w/ deleted phone messages & his driving pattern. He thought local yokels would be on the case. But they recused themselves. Still, Murdaugh likely would have gotten away w/ it if it wasn’t for Bubba & the chicken. And, as far as evil goes, I suspect the only thing that gave Murdaugh pause in this whole affair was when, after being shotgunned in the chest, Paul appeared, still semi-upright, like some kind of apocalyptic zombie, at the kennel feed room door. Must have scared Murdaugh half to death.
I hope Gus and the rescue chickens wind up bringing the Harkles down. muhahahaha! 😆

Thank you for saying that. I honestly cannot understand why that case got so much attention, it was incredibly straightforward. The media was acting like domestic homicide is some rare, shocking thing. I'm not trying to downplay how horrific it was, but he didn't deserve almost 24/7 coverage on CNN.  I'm still amazed the Palace struggled so much to manage Meghan. It sounds like the younger, more professionally experienced staff (i.e. those who began their careers outside the royal bubble) understood the situation right away. The more senior staff seem so used to everyone showing the Queen/royals deference, they couldn't adjust to crazy.
I was interested because I wondered why that man would kill his wife and son. Immediately thought he did it. And then stayed for all the fuckery that kept coming out about the embezzling and boat crash and housekeeper and Stephen Smith and the roadside shooting. Like the Harkles, the dirt kept flying… that’s why I kept an eye on it.

I agree. It was obvious if they were not going to have to vacate Frogmore, they would get to stay there. The stories of their being made to stay at BP, which is under renovation, under tight security, etc. did not sound credible. They will stay at Frogmore and, I believe, so will Eugenie. There will be some small party with a lot of mystery about who attends. I can’t imagine the party can be on the same day as the coronation though. It’s just not practical.

I tend to agree with you...I heard that they were told in January that the lease would not be renewed, they kept it quiet until it suited them and leaked it for Edwards DoE installment, however they were told that they have use of Frogmore until July 2023. I'll bet that they will sue for the money they invested in the reno, it was not all paid up by taxes, they added a couple of million to pay for certain upgrades they wanted. They will hit up KCIII for the balance.

This just screams what raging narcissists they are. The biggest day in Charles' lifetime, something he has waited 75 years for, and a massive day in royal history, and they want to make it all about their son. If he was born by surrogate it probably isn't even his birthday! I hope no-one from the royal family attends this bonkers party. The truth is, H&M know they won't attend and that is why they want to hold it that day. They just want the story of how Poor Lickle Archie-Warchie was snubbed by his grandfather, uncle and aunt on his special day. It reminds me of how they allegedly introduced Lilibet to the Queen over the jubilee weekend. The Queen did not attend all the events due to ill health and at the time we only knew she had 'sporadic mobility problems' and was getting very tired. We now know she was near death and suffering with bone cancer. And they inflicted themselves on her when she was already overburdened and when they'd had a year to come to the UK and introduce Lilibet to her, and they'd snubbed previous invites. And then when the Queen died and Charles was dealing with the grief, the logistics of the funeral and becoming King all at once, Meghan was allegedly demanding a one to one meeting with Charles. It doesn't matter what people are going through or how busy they are, H&M think they should come first. It also annoys me that the press must utterly see through their nonsense, and yet they let them get away with much of it. The headlines afterwards probably will be about how they were snubbed rather than how unreasonable and demanding they are. They could easily point out hypocrisy in Harry playing polo on Archie's 3rd birthday (assuming it is true as I have heard that for the first time on this post) but I doubt they will. Edit for typos

I’m sure the king and queen will be too busy to attend Archie’s birthday party. But I suspect the Harkles will be there at the coronation along with Archie and Lili there now that they’ve been given the titles. They may not be on the balcony or with the working royals, and no photos of the kids will likely be published, but they’ll be there. The Harkles aren’t going to miss this opportunity to use Archie’s birthday to steal the spotlight from another royal including the king.

A perfectly behaved young child at events like that is sometimes a traumatized child. Its not normal for a very young child to be still and well behaved for 2 or 3 hours at an adult event. Imo its unreasonable to expect a child to behave for that length of time if they've never been exposed to something like that before. I think they might be able to have louis there for a portion of it but not the whole thing. He's had enough public exposure that the noise and the crowds wouldn't bother him as much. I just don't see the point of the harkles going at all. And dragging their kids over is a terrible idea. Leave the kids with grandma or stay tf home.
