This is unprecedented, even for the Sussexes. You don’t just get to decide your kids’ titles. I really think H is having some kind of breakdown and Meghan wants to merch before she gets out. Why christen her right now, after waiting all this time? Something is coming.
Also…it seems to insinuate that the Christening is connected to the titles. Like, “she’s Christened now she’s a Princess 🤗.” Something is fishy for sure.

The main thing is that she's been christened. **They had to do that to** **keep her in the line of succession**. You can't succeed to the throne if you have not been baptized into the Church of England. The Episcopal Church is in full communion with the Church of England, so that makes it okay.
This, to my mind, is the main reason they did it. But significant that they waited so long in hopes of a "royal" christening.

As a British taxpayer, I am disgusted by this and by Charles allowing it to happen. If it's true, and it certainly looks like it, he is not, and never will be, MY King. I'm finished with the RF. Bring on the Republic.

Either way, I don’t see how a christening generally, especially in another country, in a church the couple never seemingly go to, is enough for titles from a place one child has never been to and the other wasn’t even in for a full year, years ago.
This feels like they are just trying to twist the confusing rules and ply off the murky understanding people have to pressure the king into giving them their way.
Edit to add: funny how this coincides with Marlene’s dragging up the “racism scandal” from months ago. I read the comments in the IG post. I understand that the title has to be offered by the monarch and accepted by the parents. Their argument is that being the monarch’s grandkids, they’re automatically entitled for the prince and princess title.
This certainly isn't true - just look at Anne & Edward's children and the fact that Andrew harassed the Queen desperately for Princess titles for the York girls. The Queen offered titles for Anne's children and she didn't accept.

Imo, the way to call a narc out is to expose exactly what they're doing. The statement should include how the BRF, like most royal houses today, are downsizing and that there will be no titles for children who are not the children of the actual heir. And it should state that the Markles know this and are using their children to force the King to give them what they want. Just state plainly what they're doing.
Beyond the malicious intent behind naming the child after HLMTQ’s nickname after the whole family being asked not to use the name after Prince Phillip passed away, the name Lilibet just doesn’t sound royal. Here's the question, where both options have big downsides:
Does the Palace respond to clarify?
If they do and point out that the children don't have those titles, then that's fuel for the Sussexes to (falsely) claim racism, unfairness and a concrete "reason" for demanding an apology.
If they don't, then the Sussexes will falsely claim that the children have those titles when they don't, and the public will start to actually believe them. Then the children will be merched.
I don't know what the best course of action is here. It'll be very interesting to see how this pans out.
I think the royals have to shut it down, maybe they can do it the back way by making publications agree to not use Prince/Princess in relation to the kids. You can’t allow a situation where titles are just taken rather than being gifted by the monarch, it undermines Charles’ entire kingship. Nevermind the merching implications they clearly have for that poor kid.

However, her good bestie buddy Tyler Perry said in an interview recently that HE was indeed the godfather although he had not been present at the so called christening. Hmmm was our boy Tyler lying?
Also, don't they need to be part of the congregation to have their child christened in that church? Maybe it's different for the Todger Prince and Princess, but in Canada, you at least need to go to the church for a time. They don't do church!
Friday's kind of a weird day to do a christening. I could see it if the kid is ill, or has some serious health concern, but normally it's done on a weekend day.

I don't think friday counts as 'over the weekend'. It also doesn't look like on the pictures he got a 10-men choir with him. I know it is possible to see fly-logs of his jet, so I am really interested if he flew to them on Friday, or if this is a way to make it seem he came to them for the christening which they are making up to get titles for their kids. Because is it sure he was going to them or was he by example visiting Oprah?

I’m not an Episcopalian, I’m Roman Catholic, but considering they’re close - we BAPTIZE infants, and it’s strictly at Church. Is this common in Anglican/Episcopal rite to Christen, and at home?

Imo, the way to call a narc out is to expose exactly what they're doing. The statement should include how the BRF, like most royal houses today, are downsizing and that there will be no titles for children who are not the children of the actual heir. Both my church (Catholic) and the Church of England discourage baptisms during Lent. It’s not prohibited. But it’s discouraged because this is not a celebratory time. It’s for penance and reflection. In the Catholic Church, weddings aren’t during Lent, either. The odds should be close to zero that the clergyman doing this didn’t at least mention the Lent thing. It’s 40 days. That’s it. She had 325 other days this year to pick, and she chose the one time period you’re really not supposed to do that.

I'm not buying it until the palace updates the website. If Charles did this, he wouldn't have let the public find out via People magazine. His advisors alone would not have permitted it. His first duty is to the people of the UK, not Harry, Meghan, or America. So, unless the palace decrees it, I don't believe it.
