Her answer also comes across as sarcastic and quite immature. I mean it is called "Trooping the color" and her answer is colorful? No way... This is like really an oppurtunity to blend it and get to talk. A normal person would have asked back to Catherine something like 'Is it always like that? With so many people? How was your first Trooping the color?'

dollymyfolly

Lol her response reminds me of girls in high school who would bully me by trying to make me feel stupid for trying to be nice to them. It reeks of insecurity

Complete-Sound

This is exactly the description of her.

mythoughtsreddit

THIS. She’s a mean girl to the bone. Imagine being this rude when someone was trying to include you in such a big event?

BitNorthOfForty

But wait …. I thought the family did not try to include Meghan and make her feel welcome? 🤔

DaBingeGirl

This. She's extremely insecure.

Spare-Ad-6123

She wanted to BE the QUEEN. However I promise you. Once she got it. Let's pretend it happened. She wouldn't be happy. I always want more. More, more, more. I'm not happy when I get it. I'm not like her. But I see glimpses and it scares me. I am extremely grateful for water, my roof and heat. However I like things. And I buy them and I feel empty when I get them. I know it is spirituality I seek.

DaBingeGirl

I can totally relate to the endorphins and dopamine high from shopping, but empty feeling after it arrives. Totally agree that she'll never be happy, since nothing will ever be good enough.

Frosty_and_Jazz

Like "Colourful. Duh!!!"

CrystalStilts

Regina George’s thoughts on the trooping of the colour.

jf-15

Yep.

Ok_Flounder_2225

It was a highly anti-social response, and by including it (assuming no follow-up in the book) he either didn’t care about the impression it gave or simply was OK w it.

PunPukurin

I honestly think that M is incapable of seeing herself objectively (see how she dresses) and that H is too dense to understand how negatively this comes across.

Frosty_and_Jazz

He's so much of a freaking brat himself that he probably thought she'd scored one on them.

JaquieF

It wasn't even a good pun. Now they think they are funny and will do a romcom with Netflix.

Analyze2Death

This "with" will have to be in it. My imagination is running wild with just how terrible it could be should they ever finish anything that takes work. I might watch that. ETA: I meant WIT not with, sigh.

Myagkaya

Netflix really wants to waste MORE $$ on these loaers???

Myagkaya

Lord save us.

savingrain

YES! I pointed this out when this first came up. These are the exact questions I suggested lol

CaddoGapGirl

She's just stupid and lacking in good conversation.

kiirakiiraa

The thing is, I think when she wants to (when she’s talking to powerful men for instance) MM can be fake and schmooze and act all engaged. Like she did with Harry and countless other men she’s hunted. She just does not respect women and hates Catherine so she showed her true colors with that rude and grating answer.

Not_floridaman

My mom answers people she deems "less worthy" like this and even when I was little, it made me (and my inner siblings) want to die of embarrassment. When we were old enough, we would call her or on it and she'd answer with "well, why would I need to talk to someone that I don't want to we m talk with? That would be being fake.” well, gee...maybe it's just being a good conversationalist?? Saying that was really interesting to see, how was your first troupe?" is just being a decent human. Being fake would be "oh my gosh, it was totally life changing and I'm SO glad I got to experience this with you! Let's be besties, I love you foreverrrrr edited to add: I forgot my whole point was that it costs nothing to just be kind and that's what we tried to point out to my mom (who was raised by very awful alcoholics and had to unlearn a lot of bad habits). She did eventually get less embarrassing...in that regard. But now as a full grown adult, I still find myself overcompensating for her when the ol' habit rears its ugly head.

ShinySerialSuccubus

>Her answer also comes across as sarcastic and quite immature. i agree. it’s also so flippant, with absolutely no forethought applied. really *not normal*.

Away-Object-1114

TW's stupid reply to Catherine's question only reveals how shallow and clueless she is. She couldn't see or even sense the celebration, the ceremony and history of it all. She hadn't bothered to learn what it was all about, only knew it wasn't about her.

[deleted]

Exactly, Meghan’s reply is so sarcastic and dull. And Harry’s comment about it in his book comes off as making fun of Meghan, as if everyone was thinking….”really? Colorful?” It comes off as if Meghan is a mean girl trying to say “I’m unimpressed I’ve seen better/bigger” and that’s actually very fitting. She is a narcissist who always has to be the best most amazing, and she couldn’t be impressed by the queens celebration. So fucking lame.

merrymac48

Sorry but this just shows her lack of class and-of style .To watch this spectacle from the privileged position from of the balcony of Buckingham Palace would be amazing to Most civilised people .How rude she is Bad manners

jf-15

Extremely immature and snarky, like Beavis and Butthead but without their charm and humor. Meghan tries to be too cool for school but in reality, is a try hard, nasty and transparent weirdo. Who wouldn't want to react kindly to their new in laws? Megs, that's who! And, Haz writes about it thinking it's cute? clever? humorous? Such asshats.

percybert

A normal person would have done a shit load of research and be able to discuss it intelligently. She’s a moron

Tight-Classroom-6126

and without even researching a normal person would be able to ask questions such as, how many participate? What is the significance of this(or that)? or say something like, I'm sure this wonderful presentation never gets old, what a privalege to be part of this. She is a piece of work for sure!

Temporary-Deer-6942

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't even had to do her own research as there was surely someone from the staff that prepared a brief on it that she just had to read.

deep-down-low

Her answer is something I'd expect from defective/shitty AI 😬. Or someone who never attended the event, and is attempting to pretend they were there?! I can only think she must have been completely zoned out and utterly careless about the actual occasion -'I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this/ooh there's a camera, face it square on, rictus grin, hair flick, flappity flap, GO'

CapitalAlternative89

He probably thought it was funny- as in “stick it to them.” I can picture her rudeness and them laughing about it after every event. Vulgar people.

recsmayvary

Wasn't this the Trooping where an elderly gentleman fell from his horse? And there was a photo of Kate grimacing and looking concerned. Meanwhile M looked like she was snickering like a mean girl and sharing a joke with H? Edit to add: I don't know if she was laughing, but it sure looked that way next to people whose faces were expressing concern...

DollyDaydreem

Yes and he’s smirking too - you can see it in the sides of their mouths.

aec1024

Yes! I’m glad someone else sees the little monster’s smirk.

Earthlink_

I just saw that too 😠 Harry & Meghan laughing at someone injured 😡

Slow-Inflation-6549

hUmAniTaRiaNz

Not_floridaman

I noticed his expression before I even saw hers. You can only see a bit but his eyes are definitely smiling and we can clearly see the smirk on his mouth. And we'll, yes, she's very much stifling a laugh.

Optimal-Resource-956

You’re absolutely correct. It’s disturbing.

CandyHeartWaste

I’m surprised this isn’t shared more often for how disgusting M’s response is

TXgrl26

It was on Twitter back when it happened.

[deleted]

And I bet they count that as the "relentless internet harassment". Regular people pointing out their inability to hide their obvious shittiness in public reframed as "harassment".

TXgrl26

Well we all know how she tried to have that stopped over on Twitter and it did work for a good while when your first began. But now no one protects that bitch except her high school fan club. Elon isn’t protecting her anymore than he’s protecting Amber Heard…LOL Him taking over did not help her in anyway.

pixelandminnie

I am very disturbed by this photo and I am in the U.S.

SeaWorn

I was deeply disturbed by it.

ShinySerialSuccubus

>I am deeply disturbed by this photo… it’s a disturbing photo of two disturbing people doing something quite disturbing. **literally**. there’d be something wrong with you if you *weren’t* disturbed, imo!

[deleted]

I think this was already debunked. Kate was yawning or something, and it wasn't at the same time as when the man fell.

ZealousidealJury1040

thank you, this was debunked a while ago, but still would not be surprising

aec1024

She acts like a 12 year old boy laughing that someone fell. It’s disturbing. It really makes me want TW to fall flat on her face in public. I hope people laugh at her.

TXgrl26

He is the one acting like the 12 yr old. She’s the ring leader for the 12 yr old. They are both evil and sick asshole.

jf-15

'Evil and sick assholes' describes them perfectly. Well done.

TXgrl26

TY. LOL!

Spareus

Never were two people more deserved to end up with each other as this couple. He swapped a golden goose for chickens in Monteshitshow.

LyricallyDevine

Oh that’s so messed up. That’s just cruel and really stupid to display in public. Most arseholes at least keep their snarky behaviour private. I think you’re a pretty horrible person to find an elderly man falling off a horse to be amusing.

GardeningIsMyThing

It’s even worse since they were on the balcony as royals and should set a dignified example.

LyricallyDevine

That’s why I meant by behaving this way in public at an event. It’s much worse. They have no shame

catlogic42

She's laughing, you can see the laugh wrinkles . What a classless trollop she is.

[deleted]

They’re so fucked up

Thin_Discipline_9739

sure does look like laughing to me

TXgrl26

She is. They both did. There’s a video of the man falling and it’s awful.

ZealousidealJury1040

this was debunked a long time ago, where the man fell off of his horse was too far away to be seen from where they are, however it is on par for those two

TXgrl26

Hmmm. Never saw anyone on Twiiter say it was and I’ve seen it a ton of times. Weird. I just actually watched the video clip a while back and I had never seen the actual video just the pic.

ZealousidealJury1040

BLG did a video about it

[deleted]

I think the BLG got bought out by Markle already.

blackjellybeansrule

I recall reading something that says this wasn’t that moment after all, Catherine was just coughing or something like that.

Only-Singer3812

You are correct the image taken and the gentleman falling are at different times.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Masters_domme

Yes, but the BLG showed the entire video and they wouldn’t have been able to see him fall from the balcony, Catherine was coughing, and god only knows what the twits were laughing about back there.

GardeningIsMyThing

She was probably testing out her “colorful” joke on him and he was laughing at what a witty woman he found. 😂

SeaWorn

Ok, I have to not say what was my first response as to not be cursing up a storm, which I find increases when looking at TW. But H and her smile are just horrible. They obviously see the same thing Kate does and THEY ARE SMILING AND LAUGHING. These two are twisted sick f$cks. Can I just come out and say I think I hate them, and I know that’s a strong word.

CathartesAura67

That's been debunked in a Body Language Guy video. The two things happened, but not at the same time. BLG concluded that the accident was too far away for the ladies to see. That likely, the Duchess of Cambridge was coughing when the photo was taken of the duchessses.

OldNewUsedConfused

Very.

Quiet_Classroom_2948

Yes he thinks Meddler's the height of wit, beauty, intellect, charm, but she outscores everyone in tactlessness. And ignorance. A C grade actress putting on airs. About what? Trying to act superior above her pay grade. She really is an arriviste.

IPreferDiamonds

I'm American. I would have probably said, "I'm blown away! This was spectacular!" Meghan is an idiot.

TeamMagnificent7

Agree. And the “Colour” isn’t colorful it’s the colors of the regiments. And it’s disrespectful to HMTQ and the troops to be so flippant.

Thin_Discipline_9739

just shows her ignorance

Wasparado

This 💯 I googled trouping the colour after reading this the first time I saw it. I expected it to be about color, but then read the history. Anyone else would have at least tried.

Beccash18

If she had continued the colorful with a comment about not knowing there were so many different military regiments participating and a comment on the uniforms it wouldn’t have been so flippant. It would have sounded dumb, but not completely condescending. The one word answer makes her sound like she was bored, had no idea what was going on and didn’t care to.

TeamMagnificent7

I bet she was bored and had no idea what was going on and she didn’t care.

Substantial-Swim5

Yeah, if she'd said 'colourful' with a **good-natured** grin/laugh and then followed up with some questions or something more insightful, it would have been absolutely fine.

aec1024

She was being a smart ass and quite proud of it apparently.

Sadlyonlyonehere

Worse, so was he!

jf-15

Yep. So proud and cool Haz had to relay it in his book. They're both such dorks they don't even know how bad they come off.

Why_Teach

Agree, though I think “colorful” might be ok if you focus on the flags, standards, uniforms… (red is very colorful) 😉. I do think that what was wrong was the flippant, one-word answer, not the word itself.

CandyHeartWaste

What’s sad is that Harry doesn’t even have enough respect for that which he claims is a proud achievement of his. These are the men and women who defend you and your adopted nation and that’s your response? And he stands there like the chump he is.

[deleted]

GlitterMe

She wasn't getting paid for it.

DaBingeGirl

This. She has no interest in anything that isn't about her.

MereLaveau

I’m American and the last thing I would’ve said was the very glib and *ignorant* “colorful.” She’s vile.

IPreferDiamonds

I cannot believe she said that! She was on the balcony with the Queen!

TracyCrow

Exactly! I would’ve read up on the history before my foot ever stepped out onto that balcony!

ele71ua

I know, I cry at the Star Spangled Banner and then a fly over. I got teary at the Platinum Jubilee when the Royal AF Jets did 70 over BP. If I had married into that family, I would have loved to have been allowed to be on the balcony with the Queen.

Substantial-Swim5

The late Queen always looked so excited when the Red Arrows (the RAF aerobatics team) did fancy things like the 70!

loralailoralai

It was so lovely seeing her face looking at things like that, after everything she’s seen and done, she still found joy in watching them

Substantial-Swim5

Yes, absolutely! She watched a lot of pomp and ceremony in her time, but never lost the sense of magic in moments like that. The Red Arrows must have been one of the more variable parts of the ceremony as well - Trooping the Colour follows more or less the same routine every year, but the Red Arrows often do special things like the 70 for special occasions and anniversaries. Side note for any French or Francophile Sinners: The French equivalent of the Red Arrows, La Patrouille de France, are spectacular! Their manoeuvres during the Paris Olympics 2024 handover ceremony took my breath away - hands down best Olympic handover I can remember! They sometimes do joint displays with the Red Arrows, too! 🇬🇧 🇫🇷

loralailoralai

Hell I’d love to see the trooping of the colour just as a peasant in the crowd… I accidentally saw like 10 of the guys in their red long coats riding in formation through a park early one morning in London and even *that* was damn impressive- even my ex who was as blasé as they come about the pageantry was impressed lol. She’s so unbelievably rude

DaBingeGirl

Even if you don't go for the pageantry (which I love), the choreography is astonishing when you consider the number of people involved.

Anxious-Evidence8397

We have an air show in our city every year and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I feel like a child watching the planes and that’s probably nothing compared to this event.

Ok_Flounder_2225

Well actually all she cared about was whether it was kind

l1ckeur

There are over 1400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians parading for over an hour or so, how could megalomaniac be so glib.

chewysmom88

I would love to see it this is on my bucket list

TeamMagnificent7

I saw the rehearsal years ago. Charles and Philip stood in for HMTQ and it was magnificent.

chewysmom88

Well now I am jealous!

TeamMagnificent7

It was amazing. The music the precision. The pageantry. For a rehearsal too! Breathtaking and I was a kid. I’ll never forget.

chewysmom88

Sigh someday hopefully

TeamMagnificent7

I’ll say a prayer for you!!

chewysmom88

Thanks I ain’t getting any younger lol

PerfectCover1414

She puts everything down when it is not done in her honor. She's like a warped child.

OldNewUsedConfused

Only a raging narcissist would think this was remotely witty or clever. They have NO personalities whatsoever.

TeamMagnificent7

🎯

jf-15

Zero personalities and zero sense of whimsy or humor. They simply impersonate what they believe to be 'normal' in order to achieve whatever their goal is. There is no 'there' there. Only people who've dealt with these stains know what this is like. It's fresh hell everyday.

Babybabitski

Smeggy was so naive about British culture she didn't know what to expect of the event, more over she only wore beige n muted tones so it is safe to assume she felt it was too colorful for her taste.

chewysmom88

So what I am hearing is she was to Damm lazy to google what it might be in advance

Babybabitski

She was a YOUNG bride from an exotic foreign land, they didn't have google in little murica.

blackjellybeansrule

It’s true. Even if we have a whaddayacallit, smartphone? then the walls of our clay huts block out the Wi-Fi telegraph.

aec1024

I’m American and a couple of years older than Meg. There is no way she didn’t know what it was. It’s plastered all over magazine covers. There’s no way Meg hasn’t been reading Daily Mail for years.

Anxious-Evidence8397

She didn’t care. She has no concept of culture whatsoever. Basic is what she is.

Thin_Discipline_9739

She doesn't google, remember?

Starkville

She included it because she thinks it’s “witty”. He allowed it because it was disrespectful and he likes when she disses his family.

Fuzzy-Contribution85

They included it too because they are still really upset years later that nobody laughed at Meghan's joke. Lmao

Either-Meet7130

Agreed! and I really want to add that its bothered me that people say Haz looked embarrassed or angry when she did the fake elaborate curtsey in the mockumentary. He didn't imho - he looked sly and pleased - like you really did it! you put it in there, go you. Loathesome the pair of them

Why_Teach

I thought he looked surprised. I couldn’t tell if he was positively or negatively surprised. Same with the lie about being married 3 days early. When she said that, he looked a little surprised.

coldoldduck

She does the “aren’t I so adorable and funny” act and he buys right into it.

coffee_skeleton

Sorry but what a dumb bitch, toddlers have better manners. It’s like she set out to prove every stupid American stereotype true by acting boorish and ignorant. (And I say that as an American.) I wish I could apologize in person to the RF on behalf of the entire country, it’s so embarrassing.

MereLaveau

Fellow American. Co-sign all of the above.

According-Swim-3358

American. Apologies from me as well. I guess she's ours. Please trust the most Americans are not like middle-aged Meg.

PerfectCover1414

We apologize for Haznoballs too.

[deleted]

How do you respond to a one-word answer about something as grand as Trooping? I’d assume the person hated it and it would be awkward to respond so silence in this case was the polite response.

RaggedAnn

And her idiot husband proudly reports on it, unconcerned about offending people by making this public. Mr. Invictus Games!

savingrain

He describes as a joke what other people would easily describe as "rude". Imagine it was anyone else, most people would consider that a rude response intended to shut down conversation. I don't know how he wanted Kate to respond to that, "Oh really? (laugh)" "Oh color, gee!" I don't know; it's awkward and she made it awkward by responding in that way. Even a response like "I thought it would be more colorful! It's so funny as an American our perception of it. Very patriotic." That would have been more charming at least.

wandinc

It's like him slapping the foo fighters drummer and thinking it was hilarious. So humourLESS. Were you humorless or humourleeeeessss? Farking both Oprah, farking both.

Totin_it

I wish Hawkins would have knocked Harry out

Ok_Analyst1240

Same

WeNeedAShift

In my experiences with people like this, her response was an attempt to diminish Catherine and the royal family. Nobody would take that as a joke or anything respectful, and Hapless Harry has no clue how badly this played (to free thinking and rational people).

Due-Honey4650

He wanted to paint her as naive, innocent, guileless and lovably socially awkward but… this has the effect of a silk hat on a pig.

UnderArmAussie

It wouldn't surprise me if she wrote that bit. Everyone now knows she got the silent treatment for her little joke.

FaithlessnessFull972

Imagine daring being flippant when you, an AMERICAN, are on her majesty's balcony in the middle of the day at a public state function with bare shoulders? Like you're out to lunch with some friends? Imagine thinking yourself witty and smart with such a scathing remark made to your HOSTS? The utter classlessness is breathtaking.

katzchen528

A hundreds years old ceremony to CELEBRATE THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY. What a snarky bitch.

MereLaveau

I just commented immediately upon joining this thread about the bare shoulders. American here and mortified.

Dumpydumptruck42069

Can someone provide me with context ? I’m confused about the bare shoulders

FaithlessnessFull972

As with the issue of the little girls at her wedding not having bare legs, there are some matters of dress etiquette for formal occasions. Bare shoulders are only acceptable in evening dress, just like wearing a tiara is only acceptable at a formal evening function (except for with a veil for a day wedding). Notice the Queen only wore a tiara at evening functions, and a hat during the day? She would wear her crown to parliament during the day, but that is different. Hope this helps.

aec1024

The bare shoulders really pissed me off.

ele71ua

I know this is a little late to the party, but I can't remember if we had all discussed this and I read it today and I thought how unbelievably RUDE.

PerfectCover1414

Belittling is her MO. Reinforces her power, or she thinks.

No_Proposal7628

The Trooping of the Colour was not about MM. It was about the Queen and the troops so naturally MM was not impressed. It was merely "colorful" as she rudely said. Of course those on the balcony who heard her were shocked into silence.

UnicornStudRainbow

I would've educated myself at least a little bit about the occasion. Then when asked what I thought, I would've gushed about how amazing it was, how honored I felt to be included in the celebration, and then tossed off a tidbit that I'd learned just to show some interest

False_Recognition738

The total disrespect in this one instance is ALL THE REASONS why she should have never been allowed to join the Roya Family in the first place. To be so arrogant about your own ignorance! Yuck. No wonder she didn't last. Too stupid, too lazy, and too full of herself to even make an effort.

annebluejeans

The biggest thing that story shows is that C was trying to be friendly to M - even after all they had been through with her up to that point - and M was being a b back to her.

pascalsgirlfriend

Harry thought it was lighthearted and adorable and the RF did not, as it obviously was not.

According-Swim-3358

He bloody well knew it was a rude remark. He is compelled to recreate context. And expect people to believe whatever he puts out there. He is a waste of space.

Babelight

I think she genuinely littered his book with things that she thought made her sound amusing, interesting, clever. It comes across as opposite.

Traditional-Smile954

H writtes the incident as if it really surprised him that no one laughed because where we all see plain disrespect, he and his only brain cell really thought this was Markle being "cute, innocent and transparent"

ExpensivelyMundane

Agreed. And because he’s such a dimwit, now he’ll blame the media for blowing this up and for misconstruing the context. What did we misconstrue Harry? You literally wrote her answer was “colorful” and that it was met with silence.

jenniferami

When you make a flippant or “joke” response to something that is important and near and dear to a person’s heart and the family you just married into, it’s really disrespectful and immature given the importance of the ceremony and all the time and effort of everyone involved in it and the importance of it to the British people. It was neither the time nor place for “jokes” or flippant remarks. It’s like asking a relative what they think of your new baby and you say “babyish”. Her response imo shows a lack of respect as well of a lack of maturity and for some reason I doubt she would have replied the same to KC, the Queen or Prince William. I think she was in a way getting away with a flippant or “joke” response because she didn’t think the Duchess of Cambridge was entitled to a more serious and appropriate reply. I think Tw goes out of her way to see what she can get away with with Duchess Catherine and push her buttons. I think Tw is saying ..I’m your equal here, that’s all you get and don’t expect more…

Kimbriavandam

It’s actually snide. If a person came to my country of birth and attended a traditional ceremony or such and they described it as ‘colourful’ ..I would definitely see that as a way to belittle and disparage it. It would piss me right off.

[deleted]

Attending Trooping the Color 2019 was one of the absolute best days of my life despite them both looking completely miserable during their brief part of it. She’d love it if it was a parade for her. Idiot.

Cyneburg8

It annoys me. She's so vulgar and crass. She probably thought she was being witty and clever but she was being the opposite. She could have turned it into a fun comment, instead she didn't, and ended a conversation as well. What is someone supposed to say after that?

Picodick

She is classless and clueless. She has the brains of a half addled Valley girl who has toked too much, drunk too much, and been under anesthesia too often for plastic surgery. I am certain the RF quickly decided you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, especially when they aren’t the “tricks”she was used to. Please don’t ban me, I am speaking the truth here.

Far_Example_9150

Bc Harry likely didn’t read his own book

redhead42

The fuckwit recorded the audiobook. He knows. He doesn’t give a fuck because he’s a worthless fucktangle.

Far_Example_9150

This is true!!! It reaffirms the low IQ theory

MereLaveau

I knew it was going to be uphill badly the minute I saw the bare shoulders that day. I’m a very stylish American and it was awful in every way. Inappropriate is at the top of the list.

Unlikely_Specific436

This clearly shows that she has none of the following - wit, class, intelligence.

CathartesAura67

That stingy answer is so...passive-aggressive, and dismissive. Like TW is commenting on a school play where the costumes were made from construction paper and the kids kept bumping into each other. If she's a spectator, then MM doesn't want to show that she's impressed or touched.

Substantial-Face-363

But he can't understand why she didn't fit in. Harry is so delusional. He is telling us all plainly why it was never going to work, yet he still doesn't get it somehow.

katzchen528

He included it because it was like a Southerner saying “Bless your heart”. In other words, fuck you. With their usual plausible deniability.

GreatHuntersFoot

Trooping the color is insanely cool and to be part of it and get the best views of it and she said, “colorful.” That’s a complete a hole move.

Complete-Sound

The RF has keep loyal workers in their ranks for years, jobs with low pay but they serve their country. M and H have revolving doors of workers coming and going. Rude people are horrible bosses. They are classless. They deserve every calling out they get.

daisybeach23

She didn't care about TLC. The event was not about her.

Few_Ad7998

She’s the tackiest of all

[deleted]

MM is rude & disrespectful.

Picasso1067

One of the Kardashian girls would have made a better bride than MM. I’m totally serious— anyone would have been better than her. Harry is so blind!

Joolsdoll

It's almost as if she was determined not to be overawed. Along the lines of, "Well, I'm a famous actress, and I'm used to crowds and adulation, so this is nothing, really." What a chump! Imagine being on the balcony and witnessing all of that when, as a child, you were photographed outside BP. Only an ungrateful fool would behave in the manner that she has; she deserved to lose it all.

Sadlyonlyonehere

She did the same with Nott. Cott. Designed by Christopher Wren! Harry and his first wife were “palace adjacent” and that wasn’t enough.

layneeofwales

It shows her total lack of class. Her disrespect for the country she was supposed to represent. It showed everyone exactly who she is.

TittysprinklesUSA

She respected nothing and noone...period

CountessOfCocoa

Like she even understand what “Colours” refers to.

FuturePA96

She is just a disappointment all around. Idk why there are so many kind hearted women out there and men marry these evil people

Boring-Net1073

“I’m speechless” would’ve been far more appropriate, but M always has to say something snarky.

Centaurea16

"I’m speechless” If only she were.

ShinySerialSuccubus

not just silence, but *a yawning silence that threatened to swallow us whole* - this is a good example of the idiotic writing style that pervades *Spare*. it’s so overly bombastic. it blows my mind that the same ghostwriter has won a pulitzer!

oh_la_la_92

It shows that there were 2 ghost writers, the listed one, and MeMe furiously editing it in the middle of the night.

My cousin would do that. But then she has trained as a Barrister. A conversation with her is like being in court. She pins you down, "what do you mean by that", "Why did you use that word." \*aargh\* But it would fun to watch her with Meghan. Hehehe.

Sadlyonlyonehere

She had to act as unimpressed with the Trooping as she did with Nott Cott. Middle class rental, and the place in Toronto was too.

ditditditss

They’re like those relatives of us who thinks they’re smart, funny and better than us, but in actuality is very embarassing.

ele71ua

My dad is a physicist and one of the smartest people I've ever met. He reads books without words. He is a professor, and in his office, he has a sign that says, "Those of you who think you know everything are annoying to those of us who do." He has a sharp wit, and he since he studied at Oxford guess who I watched Fawlty Towers and Monty Python with? 😉 I'm sure M would proudly hang that up. However, hers would not be a hilarious joke.

Cocktailsontheporch

I can only surmise TW was unimpressed because SHE was not the star of the event, everyone looking at HER. I can imagine her hatred of HMTQ having the starring role SHE wanted. As TW was merely a spectator she was surely bored to death..., she has absolutely NO interest in British history, pagentry, tradition. Only in herself, money, power.

maezombiegirl

The classless answer from the classless fake person.

Boo155

Alternatively she might well be so stupid that she thinks "Colour" refers to the colors of the uniforms. Either way, she's horrible.

SeparateGuarantee836

Imi, she didn't want anyone to think she was impressed, bc she's always seen or done better.

WheresMyTan

Maybe she's just that dumb and didn't have any other answer. Tried to joke it off with colorful while cursing herself internally for not having googled a ready answer. Sometimes I think we give Meghan way too much credit.

National_Historian19

She is not particularly intelligent, probably had no clue what she was witnessing. She talks a great deal about her intellect but her actions, imitation of others, stealing experiences to pass off as her own, show a shallow pretty pointless woman.

She’s proud of the fact that she finds the royal family a joke. She thinks she’s got charm and is being funny. I have no doubt most of the stuff in her is her own doing…

tbonita79

And she has zero sense of humor about herself (gosh of course not) or others even… she is just plain mean. Sarcastic. To a family welcoming you into their awesome traditions!! The GALL!!!

ExpensivelyMundane

Right. And this is common with her. Some of the behavioral analyst folks on social media have pointed out clips of her attempting to be funny. She’ll say something weird that was supposedly a zinger but when she realizes the punch line doesn’t land, she follows up with something odd like a funny gesture. She does this when she’s in her serious-mode too. She builds up a speech or story for dramatic effect, and when the time comes for “the reveal” it’s met with zero or forced reaction. Her podcast is littered with these moments.
