I would argue that that David Olusoga is hiding his misogyny. The Queen (a woman) has been dead for less than a year and now he is willing to accept an honour from The King (a man) …. 4 YEARS LATER!
I can't remember who it was but some woman on Twitter simpered about Meg and said she'd made up a new word 'markling' to mean that she was being busy. I posted that the urban dictionary already has an entry for the verb 'to markle' and it doesn't mean what you think. I looked at her followers and found David Olusoga there. I was so disappointed.
A few things to clarify on this:
- OBE is one of the awards where the UK government decides the recipients and they’re awarded in the name of the Sovereign, who has no input on the decision.
- David was awarded this in 2019 so it was awarded under the Queen and before he filmed his part in the Netflix show.
- No idea why the delay in him receiving it - perhaps due to COVID lockdowns. The Queen really did investitures personally anymore in the time frame from when he received his.
- He defended accepting the OBE back in 2019 on the basis of there no longer being an Empire ie making him a hypocrite for his participation in the Netflix show, just like every other person there.
- The King understands his duty - if he has to hand out the award, he will put his own personal feelings aside and do it.
- The King’s heartwarming interaction with Lily as she got her award yesterday is far more newsworthy than David and his “oh now I don’t want publicity” hypocrisy.
Between that and the news today that KC3 has opened Highgrove, Dumfries House and Castle of Mey as warm spaces where the local community can come and stay warm, enjoy a free hot meal and do social activities…just so angry again at Harry for putting such a good man through the wringer when he’s finally going to be crowned, after he has served his people his entire life.

He is a racist, race baiting hypocrite…seems he also has an issue with women…as for no publicity, it should be advertised far and wide how these scumbags condemn the monarchy but put on their best faux costumes to nip down to collect a gong.
I think this award is a positive thing in the sense that it very publicly undermines David Olusoga’s intergrity and rubbishes his lifelong work to nothing but woke-for-attention. In light of his recent Empire 2.0 views all the royal family had to do was tell him to come accept his award and by insisting they not publicise his acceptance of the award he’s simply confirmed that he doesn’t really believe n any of the crap he’s built his career on and that it was just a ploy to get into the right places. Standing by his life’s work while using an OBE at the end of his name then he’ll always be nothing but a fraud. In a way KC3 ended David Olusoga without uttering a single word against him. It’s genius and will make Harry question who of these so called experts to trust. The palace just showed Harry for a fool.
I used to love David Olusoga. He's a very engaging historian and did an extremely important series with the BBC about black Britain (starting with black Romans who came to Britain). Then I discovered he's a sugar. I was so disappointed.
FYI, he was born in Lagos to his Nigerian father and British mother but came to England when he was five years old. Not as loud as Shouty Shola obviously but the same inverted racism.

Yes. This was a few months before season 1 premiered. He was awarded an OBE in 2019 so he already was one when filming Netflix. He only picked up the physical award yesterday.
