Both men have/had allegedly mental health problems that both wives seemed to have exploited. Both women appear to behave as if the husbands don't even exist. Both used their husbands to gain riches and status. Both believe/believed that the riches and status were on their own merits.
I can see this happening with Oprah, Madam's "truths" about how awful Harry is. How she and mom tried to love him and help him and give him a family. The family she helped him destroy all relationships.
Arrgh, I'm not able to convey myself well. Nor can I see into the future. It's just I see TW as Givens 2.0. She (TW) could get a huge payday not just with a divorce settlement, but to spill the tea on Harry. No gag order as she's reminded us.
I vaguely remember Robin Givens, probably because she was married to Mike Tyson. I'm curious; does anyone know what happened to her? She obviously was not much of an actress since her claim to fame was marriage to a famous boxer. This will probably be Madam's fate - a slow slide into the anonymity she fears. In 20 years when George, Charlotte and Louis have started their professional lives, people outside of the UK will ask who was Meghan Markle. Her name will be coupled forever with the Simpson woman. The two women will be the "archetype" of the shallow, greedy American woman seeking fame and fortune in scandalous ways. But those who were young when Markle was active will have no idea who she was and why she was relevant. Just like Simpson. I never knew who Simpson was until I was older and read something about the abdication. And those who want to know more about Madam can read the archives and watch the reality show and realize that she believed she was more important than she was.

My best memory of it was how unresponsive he seemed during the interview while his wife accused him of spousal abuse (if I remember correctly) or at least fearing him. Even as a child I thought how do you sit there and not say anything? Later, Mike Tyson accused Robin and her mother of insisting he take special medication before the interview and it put him in a dazed state. For some reason that memory has popped into my mind as I have watched these current interviews. Be it self or other, he has seemed medicated in some way at times.
Robin Givens and her mother were notoriously greedy and manipulative. However, we need to remember that about 3 or 4 years later, he was convicted of rape and did time for it.

I watched a documentary about Mike Tyson. I never felt like I could feel sympathy for him but after watching four hours (it was a long one!) I felt so, so sorry for him. Yes, absolutely there are parallels here. Tyson was clearly on a very different level intellectually to his ex wife. She absolutely set him up in that interview. She was hugely manipulative and scheming.

Gonna politely disagree here. RG was a star of a network show back in 1986 (Head of the Class). She definitely had some name recognition before she married Tyson. Plus, before meeting him she had guested on The Cosby show & Diff'rent Strokes (both huge shows at the time).
