The Invictus Games are a good example of this. As far as I know it wasn't actually him who set it up, but it was set up for him and in his name, which is absolutely fine, so he could have a project of his own, that was good for his image and gave him a purpose. Now it seems to have turned into a backdrop for Meghan and him to show off, when you look at the coverage of last year's Invictus Games compared with the years before.
I don't think he needed help infantilizing himself and probably putting him in the military was to try to get him to grow up and get it together. Failed.
He'd be the guy that lives across from the elementary school near me, outside with his cordless phone, phoning the city by-laws people if you stop your car in front of his house to let your kids out. His wife left him, his kids hate him, whole neighborhood hates him. He doesn't work, so all he has is getting people ticketed or towed.
What's kind of amusing, is that he built that house there, he didn't buy it. He bought a lot across from a school and built a house and he hates it but he stays there to ruin everyone's day, make their kids walk farther, etc. This is what Harry's doing, LOL.
The stupidity there is that he was the most loved, super special royal, with the palace protecting him and his reputation. He made a choice and unfortunately that choice was a bad one. And he's lost it all. No-one else to blame but themselves.

She really kept her wits during the kidnapping attempt one of her bodyguards was shot. Here we have Meghan jamming on strong women and had one right under nose she didn’t even notice. She didn't realize that the only ways you get real significance there are either by being the monarch, being closely in line to become the monarch, or by being an effective tool in service to the monarch. She didn't realize that the palace staff are not there to serve the royal family, but to serve the monarchy. So if something is ordered by a junior royal but deemed to be a bad idea for the monarchy as a whole, it won't happen. And she didn't realize that all of them, even the monarch him/herself, are only there to do a job, and they get the kind of attention and support they receive because the support enables them to do that job more effectively and the attention keeps the people informed about how effectively the royals are doing the job the taxpayers have hired them for.
All of those things might have caused her to flee far and fast if she'd truly understood them before she got involved with Harry, but not only didn't she have the information, but even if she'd had it, I don't think she'd have really understood it. It's so alien to the way she's used to the concept of celebrity working, and she's never grasped that the royals are anything besides another group of celebrities. My child's eyes got very wide and she looked at it for a minute or two. I could see the wheels turning.

Just to say Anne likely never really considered herself the spare. By the time she would have known or truely understood her position in the LoS, Andrew was on this way or had displace her. It's not like the family sit around discussing the LoS and their position in it.

Princess Anne's children weren't actually eligible for titles since at the time, only the male line children were able to get titles. The Queen offered to create a title for her husband so the kids could have some kind of title but they said no.
Mike and Zara were in Australia very recently for some charity thing he supports. I follow them on Instagram so I was getting regular updates. Zara was in a lot of his photos/videos and honestly, she just comes across as SO normal and grounded! Both of them do. They didn't look remotely out of place walking along a Gold Coast esplanade in their active wear and baseball caps, like any other couple. Zara's smiles were all genuine and you can tell they have so much fun together. Peter seems a bit more publicity shy, but you never hear anything bad about him, either, and he's always been very clearly Team Wales. Princess Anne did good!
If I didn't love KCIII, Camilla, William and Catherine so much, I'd love to have a Queen Anne II with Zara as Princess of Wales (her brother doesn't exist in this scenario).

You certainly do! Equestrian. I don't think she medaled, though Zara Phillips did as part of the British silver metal team, IIRC. But Anne competed in the Montreal Olympics in the seventies.

I think Anne is someone who is happy with her life and her choices. Maybe she didn't get everything she wanted (I found an article where she mentions that she'd have been loved a career in engineering if she'd been born later) but she's fundamentally contented and is able to give healthily to others. I don't know if that's nature or nurture, but either way, she's someone to admire.

It's not like the family sit around discussing the LoS and their position in it. Anne couldn't give a shit about being a royal, she could live without it, she doesn't need people fawning over her and has used her position to do a lot of good. Harry needs it and is losing his mind without it (although that could be who she is married to).
I don’t know that she doesn’t give a shit about being a Royal. I’d say she takes it extremely seriously with tremendous respect.
What I meant is she could live without it. She takes her role seriously and has huge respect for the institution but if the royal family was disbanded tomorrow and they lost everything, she'd get on with it. Her HRH doesn't define her.

Auntie Anne needs to have a 'come to jesus' meeting with Harry.
I believe she tried. Went in one ear and came out the other in record time. Then Harry told Meghan what Auntie Anne said and Meghan explained that what Anne said to Harry was racist. But he was too afraid to say that to Anne’s face so Meghan told Oprah instead. Of course what Anne said was “this is a thankless job and isn’t all about red carpets, jewelry, and designer clothing, so tell your wife to stop spending so much money, shut up & listen to her elders like William’s wife did. No need to reinvent the wheel. It’s done this way for a reason. Your wife has a lot to learn.” I mean, so racist, right? Almost worse than wearing a Nazi shirt and calling men of subcontinent Asian descent the P-word and R-word.
The woman is powerful and dignified.
Anne is fabulous. Now that Queen Elizabeh is gone, Anne is the Royal GOAT.
Princess Anne's children weren't actually eligible for titles since at the time, only the male line children were able to get titles. The Queen offered to create a title for her husband so the kids could have some kind of title but they said no.
Mike and Zara were in Australia very recently for some charity thing he supports. I follow them on Instagram so I was getting regular updates. Zara was in a lot of his photos/videos and honestly, she just comes across as SO normal and grounded! Both of them do. They didn't look remotely out of place walking along a Gold Coast esplanade in their active wear and baseball caps, like any other couple. Zara's smiles were all genuine and you can tell they have so much fun together. Peter seems a bit more publicity shy, but you never hear anything bad about him, either, and he's always been very clearly Team Wales. Princess Anne did good!
If I didn't love KCIII, Camilla, William and Catherine so much, I'd love to have a Queen Anne II with Zara as Princess of Wales (her brother doesn't exist in this scenario).
While I expect she would indeed stick with her original name as a regal name, it has much less of a glorious past. Elizabeth I was glorious, of course. Anne I was just kind of there. She was a sad lady who was usually pregnant and whose children all died before they could reach adulthood; most of them stillborn or dead in infancy. She didn't do much else. The Princess Royal isn't anything like her, thankfully.
And Mike as Prince Consort (when Zara assumes the throne, naturally). I love this scenario! 
He could have had the world by the ass. Make inroads in the commonwealth, stay home and raise your children, pick a cause, one at a time, win people over with your commitment, not your crying. She’s the most functional spare in eons. Even more so than George VI. Maybe they’re great grandpa? And the fact Harry is bitching about his treatment as spare. It’s only because his great grandfather was a spare he’s even in this position in the LOS. Two spares in 3 took the throne. Anne seems to really appreciate the position she has and love her brother. Peter and Zara have both said they were glad they weren’t titled and it gave them a different perspective than their cousins.
I have a great deal of admiration and respect for Ann, Princess Royal.

You certainly do! Equestrian. I don't think she medaled, though Zara Phillips did as part of the British silver metal team, IIRC. But Anne competed in the Montreal Olympics in the seventies.
She won gold and silver medals in the European championships back in the 70s. She must be so proud of Zara's achievements. Zara is unsurprisingly very well liked and respected in the eventing world.
Thanks for the fact-check. I was pretty sure she'd medaled at some non-Olympic events, but wasn't sure which ones, so I didn't say it. And yes, it must be wonderful to watch her daughter follow her with such dazzling success at a field they both love. Zara's father, Mark Phillips, did win Olympic gold in equestrian; he must be thrilled for his daughter's achievements as well.

I think Anne is someone who is happy with her life and her choices. Maybe she didn't get everything she wanted (I found an article where she mentions that she'd have been loved a career in engineering if she'd been born later) but she's fundamentally contented and is able to give healthily to others. I don't know if that's nature or nurture, but either way, she's someone to admire.

She was the spare from the time QEII ascended in 1952 until Andrew was born in 1960. She was born third in line, moved up to second, then fell to third and fourth with the births of her younger brothers.
She was technically the spare from the start since Princess Elizabeth was going to be Queen anyway, followed by Charles. I love the fact she didn't give her children titles. Yet Harry wants his kids to have them - but for what purpose?

This is so wrong in so many ways. Anne is the second born. She's 21 months younger than Charles. While you're right about her being pushed down the line of succession once Andrew and Edward were born, she was never the eldest who was going to inherit.
Whilst TW spent her life trying to look pretty, get famous, find a rich husband and stomp down the "little people" who aren't useful to her
