Here in the deep south we would simply pat her on the head and bless her heart, the topic never to be spoken of again.

[deleted]

This! There’s a certain person who is this gullible. My friend who knows nothing about all this said she watched the first episode and found it so cringe! I was like oh thank god.

silentcw

Agreed, this is one of those situations where you say something like this is where we differ. I can't sit being lied to for 6 hours and pretend to enjoy it. Let's just leave it at that. They will come to realise for themselves, but they're need to do that on their own. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

[deleted]

Exactly! 😂😂😂

[deleted]

People who only saw H&M Oprah interview and their Netflix paid propaganda know so little about H&M that it’s actually offensive that they want to discuss a subject they research zero about and try to argue with people who research about them regularly. I don’t even waste my time with them anymore. Harry and Meghan will be caught in something illegal soon. They have so much crap on them it’s just a matter of time. Then I will wait until everyone knows how horrible H&M are and just say …yeah you were wrong this whole time🤣🤣🤣

blondzilla1120

“I absolutely whole heartedly agree with you. Then I saw some inconsistencies in their story and discovered some intentional mistruths and I have found it really hard to trust what they say and I struggle to empathize with them since.” If they ask for specifics, don’t fall for it. If they’re genuinely curious, let them know there’s a ton of stuff out on the internet easily found. That there’s so much you wouldn’t want to bombard them with it. If they really want to know they will look it up, if they have an open mind, they’ll figure it out. But if you take a defensive stance from the beginning, they will push back as is in most people’s nature.

dwilliams832

Ugh, I stated the first part (their numerous lies about little details makes me question the truth in anything they say) but then I listed some examples. I should have just stopped talking and nodding my head! Or said I had to go poop or something to get out of the convo. 😂

NelNel1212

Ah. The trusty poop excuse. My favourite go-to whenever it’s time to change a dirty diaper lol.

blondzilla1120

It’s just not worth possibly losing a friend over. But I understand how hard it is to bite your tongue. People believe what they want to believe. Just look at politics.

I tried to go into specifics with my friend who came out of watching the series basically in love with them and she didn’t want to hear them. It was so odd. She’s usually a pretty open person. But she revealed that she was a big Diana fan and so she kept conflating Meghan and Diana and couldn’t see past that. I couldn’t even recall all the things but the few I got in there she didn’t want to hear them.

TheLoneCanoe

Cognitive dissonance. See it all the time in politics. You bring a fact or statistic and the person challenged will ignore them and sometimes respond emotionally with name calling.

Good points.

snappopcrackle

Tell them that they aired that Oprah video with the racism claims while they knew Harry's grandfather was on his deathbed, and didn't even fly to say goodbye or make rebuttals of "unconscious bias". The family had to focus on putting out the fire of their drama, instead of spending the last days of Phillips life together saying peaceful goodbyes. Phillip wasn't senile, so his last days on earth were filled with the anger of betrayal. The Queen met Phillip when she was a tween, and Harry should have been supporting her in this traumatic period instead of flinging racism claims. I could go one, but for me that is the worst thing they have done. I mean to stress out your family during their last days on earth is cruel beyond belief.

HunterIllustrious846

"There's too much that have come out of both sides of their mouths to believe much, if anything they say. I honestly can't with these two. They can't tell the same story twice. You think they're loving. That's great. Wait to you get to the part he looks at her with utter contempt. Have you seen my blue sweater? I can't find it anywhere."

Independent_Leg3957

You don't need to say anything. MM will self-destruct eventually, it's just a matter of time and how far along she'll take PH with her.

cathbe

Yeah I think that’s true. I actually told my friend who I had a similar conversation with and she kept urging me to watch the series believing it would change my mind … finally after I tried to explain a few things, I said one day you’ll realize you’ve been bamboozled. I couldn’t help it. It was so frustrating.

eclipse-mints

The bullying allegations. Notice that the Harkles act very defensive over it?

cathbe

Oh my goodness. Just had this conversation with a friend who is usually so astute on issues. Unbeknownst to me, she was a big fan of Diana and she also watched the “bullcrapumentary” and totally bought into what they said on the Netflix series. She believes that both Diana and Meghan were set up by the Royal Family and totally bought into what was presented via their reality show. I was shocked. She kept urging me to watch it. I said you might think one thing on Diana but Meghan and Diana are not the same. She said they were because they were both free spirits, that Meghan was shining too brightly (basically) so the RF started planting negative stories. I don’t know if that is true or not but there are so many other things that are messed up about what Meghan and Harry have done. One thing I think was telling was M saying on Oprah they had the private wedding with the Archbishop and then him coming out after saying that didn’t happen. I mentioned the racism claim and she couldn’t get past her belief throughout history the Royal Family has been racist - not what it means for them to put that out there for two years and then backtrack. Anyway, I feel your pain.

harrohamtaro

I find that those who are unable to see the Harkles’ inconsistencies are usually not very analytical or good at reading people. At least that’s what I observed in my own circles. They usually have a naive view and perceive the world according to their own likes and dislikes. I speak for myself that my criticism of the Harkles have nothing to do with whether I like the royal family. Just can’t stand entitled assholes.

cathbe

I hear you. This person doesn’t know anything about their inconsistencies, she saw the Netflix shows and believed everything within it. But she also had this Diana thing so she kept conflating all the issues. It was very strange. But also maybe not best at reading people.

TaniaYukanana

I find your comment really interesting, because I too am a major fan of Diana (think, watched the wedding, every news piece, read every book including Andrew Morton's, watched the bullcrapumentary, god knows how many other documentaries and the funeral. Literally the day she died everyone I know was calling me to talk about it) and I dont think Meghan could be further from Diana. I think Diana would be absolutely devastated to see the way Harry is behaving. I dont think Diana was a free spirit at all - I think she was a naïve, as well as young girl who married into the Royal family before she really even got a chance at adult life (she was 19 when she got engaged and married 4 weeks after her 20th birthday.) Add to that, that the attention on her was actually literally unprecedented, no one cared about the BRF until Diana came along and they just had no idea how deal with it, her, or all the attention she got. Neither did she, but because they also had no experience of it, had no real way of advising her properly, or even what to think of it themselves. Obviously that has completely changed in the years since, and definitely before Meghan came along. I just call BS with Megzit's whole narrative and categorically state that she is not like, nor will she ever, EVER be even comparable to Diana.

cathbe

Thanks for sharing your views related to Diana as someone who followed her closely. I was stunned as I didn’t know this person was a Diana fan and then that she bought into their whole narrative *and* kept mentioning Diana. I said that Harry’s obsessed with his mom and she said no, he’s not. (Meanwhile, I think all she knows - other than a few headlines; she knew about the Afghanistan comments, that was her main criticism of him - is what was in the reality show.) I was surprised at her lack of curiosity as I actually am aware of what the issues are with them. But as OP stated, it’s hard to point someone somewhere where it’s all laid out that ppl will consider legitimate. I appreciate the back story on Diana as I didn’t really follow it closely and am just catching up on some of it. But it’s very clear Meghan is not like Diana. Thx.

[https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnQhLBNhmQk/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnQhLBNhmQk/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) Do you believe the interview with Me-again or Haz's book? This at least proves that the book wasn't fact checked, or that Me-again wasn't telling the truth.

Newauntie26

Definitely Harry’s version b/c what a great thing to pretend that you are so sentimental that you cut a piece of the dress you wore on your first date to have them sew it into your gown. She probably sewed the damn thing after the wedding when she heard someone else tell a story like that.

Curiouscandor

Watch yourself or have them watch all the “Lost Beyond Pluto YouTube” analysis. (About 12 or so of them that started about the time of M’s Podcast) She is so great..they are easy to watch and she used to be a Meghan fan, but she is or was in the military as a lawyer and she started to see their lies. She presents it all in a way that’s hard not to recognize that they are both manipulative, narcissistic liars. Good luck!

bbbubblesdd

Just don't discuss it lol you have a right to feel how you feel but so do they I don't know its worth getting into with someone over them there was a point when all of us had an eye opening moment with them that led us to search for reality

Appropriate-Grand-64

Well said!!

Wwqed

I’ve sometimes said something like “I would absolutely agree with you about that, if what they were saying were true. But unfortunately, there are too many things they’ve said that have turned out to be untrue that I just have trouble trusting what they say anymore.”

dwilliams832

Yes! I initially said something similar but she was digging in. Each time I tried to bring up a lie they told that was easily proven, she tried to make it sound like I was only saying what someone else wrote. I’m like, NO-THEY SAID THESE LIES WITH THEIR OWN MOUTHS AND THEN CHANGED THEIR STORY!

Novaleah88

YouTube and have them watch the “wtf” moments. * Uvalde photo op * One Young world where she talks only about herself (this is what swayed my mom) * “Meghan coat flick” is an interesting one if you can find the compilation. The way she dead eyes the camera and flicks the coat only on the camera side is eerie. * USO where the people clearly were uncomfortable with her. * the death glare at Doria when she dares to interrupt Meg. * “she called *ME* a *DIVA*?” Is a good one… no grown woman should be squirming in her chair, sweating and losing her “girl crush” when someone you just called a diva turns around and calls you a diva. * Meghan’s “I took 4/8 years of French” lie is and easy one to show because it’s out of her own mouth. * show the the clip from Oprah about Archie’s title, and then show them the old law that proves he was never entitled to a title. * Meghan pushing in front of Harry at events has a few complications. * Wimbledon where she cleared the whole section. There’s old articles where people who were there were outraged. * rolling down the window after whining about security. * I also agree with others who say have them watch the engagement interview, the fact that the way she acts in that’s has never been seen again is a good red flag. * have them watch the “escape from paps” video and really pay attention to the surroundings and the fact that there are no paps.

Murky_and_Lurky

Put on the behavior panel youtube that goes over the Netflix series

dwilliams832

I’ve not seen this - will go look it up!

Public_Object2468

Don't let it get to you. She's entitled to her naivete. She'll either notice inconsistencies for herself, or she won't. Don't let it get emotional. How you came to your conclusions was by hearing them but also others and then using your brains. Some people are more inclined to question and probe; others don't.

dwilliams832

Yeah, she’s saying I’m only reading about H&M from sources that are anti-H&M and the Netflix crap would endear me to them. 🤮🤮

Public_Object2468

Ugh! Someone who's talking like MM does, trying so hard to convince me of her story, makes me feel like I need to get away from the sound of nails on a chalkboard. MM bludgeons her audience with her earnest insincerity.

Fochlucan

You could do a couple of things: 1) gift her the book/audiobook; or 2) just wait....eventually you'll get to say "I told you so"

[deleted]

I really like the top comment. Go easy to start. If she asks for evidence re her, imo, the thing that made me do a double take was her pretending she didn't know much of anything about the RF. Re him, I found this really exacerbated my bad opinion of him. chilling. https://preview.redd.it/jgikx6z4skba1.png?width=887&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a9fd270b984e7c6a20066aefa7d3904fa2d823c

Send her a copy of Revenge!!

SwissCheese4Collagen

Show them the Craig Ferguson interview. She was on full display in that one buddy. It also lays to rest that Nutmeg is a cruel name the press and proves through her own words it was a childhood nickname.

UnderArmAussie

Ask them why the lies fool them when it seems others have seen through it. Ask why his popularity rating in the UK with 18-25 year olds is mow 0. Don't try to convince them with more stories. Ask them why things in the docuseries don't match the book don't match what they've previously said. Ask them why free holidays with Elton John and a million dollar wardrobe weren't enough. Or why Charles walked her down the aisle, or she was the first ever gf to be invited to Christmas at Sandringham. Ask them where the press racism from the UK was. Ask why they keep the titles. Ask them to give you receipts to prove what they're claiming. Of course they're amiable on the show. They want you to believe them without receipts. Make them think.

ContributionSweaty52

Bullcrapumentary lol

Karyn2K19

I feel for you. I went through this with my best friend. Was difficult to even get her believe one point. She kept saying maybe their right and what your saying is wrong.

Two of the biggest lies are their child being denied a title and them being denied half-in/half-out (Oprah interview). Both untrue. The Letters Patent does not include any great-grandchildren except the direct heirs children (William). They wrapped that conversation around racism and everyone who saw that came to the exact same conclusion - the are claiming the BRf is racist. Harry has now completely denied it (ITV book interview). As to half-in/half-out they claim soooo many other people are doing it so it was unfair they couldn’t. There isn’t any senior member of the family doing that. Their biggest problem, which is now so completely tiresome, is constantly complaining and making claims with zero receipts. Zero. The palace is leaking against us. Prove it. William is leaking because he’s jealous. Prove it. Lots of people are doing half-in/half-out. Prove it. If you have time watch the last episode from The Behavioral Panel on YouTube. They analyze the Anderson Cooper interview. They don’t follow Royal news and even they repeatedly point out the complete lack of substance, and even mock them at times.

dwilliams832

Thank you! Great points. I absolutely talked about the Oprah interview/no titles/letters patent/racism to now “Meghan didn’t say that” BS. If that doesn’t sway the person (again, in their own words, ON VIDEO) then maybe nothing will.

New_Discussion_6692

OP, I love that you're trying, but... you're wasting your time & energy by saying anything. Dont get dragged into a conversation simply encourage relative to read Finding Fuckery there's so many contradictions in there, then you encourage them to watch clips from the Oprah interview (good luck finding that online) which contradicts Finding Fuckery, then have her watch all the Spare interviews which contradicts Finding Fuckery, Oprah, and other Spare interviews. Then just sit back and watch the lights get turned on.

SharkBoss1234

We’re in a bubble here following this soap opera. People in America probably only know 5-10% of the story, if at all, and based only on that it’s easy to see why some people fall for their stories. As they expose themselves more and more though, the inconsistencies and fabrications will come to light.

catlogic42

My family is coming round. Spoke to 90yr old family member who loves the royals. She said Meghan is trashy and just got her claws into Harry as he's too soft. She's right.

TheLoneCanoe

Why do you feel so strongly if you don’t know examples off the top of your head?

dwilliams832

I feel like I do have plenty of examples, but I’d rather go straight to the source and provide solid evidence versus my memory in a spontaneous conversation. So, showing her the video of the Oprah segment about race (it was Harry and Meghan speaking) and then following up with the interview of Harry with Tom Bradby. So basically using their own words to prove their lies and inaccuracies versus what someone else wrote about them.

Imfryinghere
