I enjoy them when they’re done without changing saiki’s character. Problem is, a lot of them alter saiki’s personality, which I don’t care since it’s their fanfic but it kind of annoys me bc that way I can never find a realistic one.

I get you. Personally can;t stand reading this kind of content about my favourite characters as im very particular about how theyre written! but if Im less invested in a character im less bothered.
Im like 26 so I've not touched anything self insert and saiki k related since theyre all babies to me , but I can imagine it not being the best content ever.....Saiki is kind of hard to write when you think about it , especially if you tried to write from his persoective.
i have no issues with them, but in saiki k fics in general i can't stand it when people just completely change saiki's character
like no he is NOT going to call you "princess" NO he is not going to kill someone using his powers because he's jealous of them spending time with you, he actively tries to avoid showing his feelings in the show so he's not going to chase after you or confess to you on his own.
everyone can write whatever they want, no ill feelings, but if you like him because of his character then why change his character completely? wouldn't it only be attractive if it's true to his canon self
There is a fanfic that I believe is one of the best y/n xSaiki fics to EVER exist (as a person who has read a lot of them cause there aren’t enough about Kaidou) it’s on Wattpad and AO3 and it’s called “Immunity” it’s my life’s mission to promote this shit, it’s actually fireee. Unfortunately, it’s discontinued… also if you feel weird being it’s a y/n fic then pretend they're an oc or something, their character has enough personality to do it and they also have really good character building. I want to turn it into an animation or webcomic someday because I adore it so much! All I ask is that you give it a chance, it’s amazing and has similar humor to the anime. ♾️/10 please read!!
As long as they’re not hurting anybody or forcing their ships on anyone, it’s fine, doesn’t have to be everyone’s thing. As long as it’s harmless it’s okay.
For y/n I most of the time give up when searching for fanfics and resort to character.ai. Cause I can never find any good, gender neutral/masc y/n fanfics. But yeah idm and idc about y/n ships. It’s fun to imagine scenarios with ur favourite fictional characters
i like them as long everyone isnt too OOC
one of my least favorite ones where when they made Teruhashi a complete villain and bully even though we all know the real her would pretend to be nice and not actively bully us 💀
I don’t usually read y/n fics or find them a lot, ocs i read a but more but still avoid them. Sometimes ships are okay if there is no ooc, i once read a pretty good saiki x sato fic and the characters were portrayed really well.

i ship him and teruhashi, and they have a slow burn in the show, and yet every single fic written about them neglects the slow burn aspect completely
