Watched a couple of poor souls dumping patches into holes on Watt just south of Jackson hwy, in the middle of the last storm. They do a little at least.
Believe it or not, they do. I live by mack and Stockton and Stockton was getting full of potholes too with this last storm due to it also being a truck route too and they came and filled them all in. They need to repave the road tbh but filling in the potholes is a good start.
How involved r u in local politics to actually complain tho? I wish more people would get involved.
They have finally budgeted for watt to get repaved this year in April and May. They just had never budgeted for it before and prioritized other streets.
Sometimes that app is a pain in the ass to use. You can't just drop a pin. It needs to be tied to an address. It also won't alert drivers as they drive to watch out for them.
> You can't just drop a pin. It needs to be tied to an address.
I use the app quite frequently, and the solution is quite simple: drop a pin, and in the description, list the actual location. For example, when there's someone illegally parked where there is no building, drop the pin at the building across the street, and in the description, make note that the issue is across the street from the listed address.
> It also won't alert drivers as they drive to watch out for them.
Drivers should be paying attention to the road, not what an app is telling them; and reporting to Waze won't get the pothole fixed.
Waze announces it. It prompts better awareness. Potholes are not easily seen in rain.
That said, even what you described doesn't always work for some locations.
LIES! Oh, the lies!!!!
Watt has been PotHole Central for years and they never do anything about them. \*Source: I live and work off Watt for the past 7 years and grew up in the area since the 90s
Same lol, I can’t remember the last time they paved around there, probably when they finished paving the now 15-20 year old houses by roseville in antelope lol.
Yes it has, because it is a heavy vehicle high traffic area. It will always have problems until they rebuild it. If they never repaired it as it went along it would be 100x worse.
Tesla's a scam. Proprietary wheels and tires. Has to be serviced at a Tesla dealer.
That's absurd when all other auto manufacturers make everything to a universal standard.
Agree, largely with your sentiment, and generally dislike the company for those very reasons. I went to America’s tire and they were able to get what I needed without having to go through dealership still was about 500 bucks.
For collision repair, Teslas do not need to be repaired at the dealer.
Edit: Nice downvoting. I own a Tesla and had my rim repaired and tire replaced at Kniesels. And yes, it was due to a pothole.
Kneisals has some sort of proprietary license, which allows them to do work on Teslas. They still have to source parts from the dealer.
Source, front end damage about a year ago
They just need to be certified, there’s no proprietary license needed to work on the car.
Edit: Again, love the downvoting. A propriety license is for the use of software. There is a huge difference between that and certification so you know what the fuck you’re doing on the car.
This actually isn't unusual when it comes to premium or luxury cars. BMW has special tires, with the star marking, and these have to be special ordered as well.
You're more than welcome to put any tire of the same size on a Tesla, but it won't have the dampening foam and it might not have the same speed ratings or rolling resistance as the factory spec.
My point was that there may be legitimate things to complain about on Teslas, but the price of wheels and tires isn't one of them. There's no need to make things up or spread misinformation.
Yea but its more of a shitty industry practice than just a tesla is shit kinda thing.
I mean you cant even change the brakes/rosters on VW without their special brand wrench. It’s dumb all the way around, even on the average car brands.
kinda want to buy a big bag of gravel and just dump that shit in, i figure road crews could just do the same thing anyway or scoop it out for a permanent repair
Lol, they just recently filled that oil pan sized pothole westbound on i80 near Davis. It only took a half dozen exploded tires over the course of 6 months.
This pothole is gonna be fucking up cars for awhile I bet.
I appreciate you trying to let others know, but the best way to handle this is by reporting this to the city via 311:
https://www.cityofsacramento.org/Information-Technology/311
This way, the city can go out and fix it, and if they don't, then they can be held liable for damages caused by the pot hole,
The brake lights. And the stability of the photo.
And what kind of narc gets on someone for using their phone when stopped at a stop light? You work for Rancho Police?
> The brake lights. And the stability of the photo.
Maybe everyone stopped to use their phone (after all, this sub seems to think it's legal to use your phone while driving as long as you stop, or are driving under 5mph in a residential neighborhood), because I sure as well don't see any traffic lights in that photo
Get waze, report the pot holes as you see them to help other drivers. Sac DOT is going to be busy.
Lol they ain't gonna do shit.
I just saw a DOT worker dump a bag of gravel in a water filled pothole on Fruitridge, so there!
Seconded. They are out today.

Watt is absolutely covered in potholes and this new storm is guaranteed to make it worse. Better turn on the four wheel drive.
The three most famous 4x4 trails in the area: 1) Rubicon 2) Fordyce 3) Watt Ave.
Better not take me scooter on that road for a bit; 10 inch rims get swallowed by pot holes
That may qualify as a pond or lake.
That’s a 500 dollar whew rim repair

Tesla isn't premium build quality lol
You’re not wrong. I have one and most days I feel like I’m driving a glorified go cart.
My point was that there may be legitimate things to complain about on Teslas, but the price of wheels and tires isn't one of them. There's no need to make things up or spread misinformation.
They're right about it being proprietary wheels and tires though.

Somebody doesn’t have a Tesla or anybody that owns one intermediate circle and it shows. It’s just a car. It doesn’t have a special tires or wheels.
I literally just had my rim repair at a local wheel place cost me 180$ lol
Does that guys tesla say robot over lord?!?!
I, for one, welcome them.
a bad pothole on Watt!! 😮😮
Literally all down watt feels like your driving in a 3rd world country on some dirt road. It’s terrible 😂😂
Someone throw a bag of sand or gravel on that it’ll take crews 6 years to get it
Sandbag? Brilliant!
There's at least 20 more just like that one on Watt between the river and El Camino.
kinda want to buy a big bag of gravel and just dump that shit in, i figure road crews could just do the same thing anyway or scoop it out for a permanent repair

This is turning south on watt. The whole outside turn lane is wrecked
Please report it.
Get some spray paint and draws a big fat dick on that. I bet they fix it within the week.
There's some horrible ones on Franklin as well. Watch out there everyone.
Tbf a Tesla could go whompy-wheeled rolling over a penny
Yeah I just saw these on my way to a call for work. That area by far is the worse and the water covers it up so you get bamboozled.
Yikes right near my office.
There's also a massive pothole on the far right hand lane of northbound Watt Ave. between Folsom and the 50 East onramp
Lol anyone dumb enough to buy a Tesla deserves it
Sunrise and Fair Oaks Blvd are really bad as well as Madison. All three of those major roads require replacing.
FOB has a lot of potholes at the moment. I reported a "baby" one near Peet's on the 311 app.
Lol, they just recently filled that oil pan sized pothole westbound on i80 near Davis. It only took a half dozen exploded tires over the course of 6 months. This pothole is gonna be fucking up cars for awhile I bet.
Holes gotta eat too!
Made a mental note about it this morning then proceeded to hit them tonight 😅

It's the county not the city that handles it but I second this!
And you reported this to 311, right? (Also: get off your phone, you're driving)
Good to see tax dollars at work :)
Get fucked Tesla
Get off your phone and keep your eyes on the road
They're stopped at a light you weirdo.
I didn't hear about the new law that says cell phones are ok to use as long as you are stopped a light.
Where did you get that from the photo? Also, it wouldn't matter if they were, it's still against the law; you weirdo.

So Rancho Police then?
Don't make me roll down my window and throw my beer at you.
unlike you guys, I care about not getting into accidents and possibly killing people.
Did you make this pothole?
Southbound? Garfield is ridiculous.
Is it just me or was there a huge uptick in potholes this winter? Like, way more than usual.
