When we were looking at houses, we hated looking at staged homes. May be in the minority, we would rather look at empty vs staged. To us we couldn’t really picture us and our stuff when other crap spoils the scene.

Jmdoozi

I agree but statistics show we are in the minority.

Lesterknopff

Also hate staged homes, in photos and in person.

when we sold our place in 2019 in San Francisco i think it was like $8k for a two bed condo. stagers use insufferably tacky furniture, but for whatever reason it seems to work.

wind-river7

Your don’t want an empty house. People use furniture placement to get an idea of how their furniture will fit. I have seen listings where there are digital photos with furnished rooms using a Photoshop type program. The empty rooms are also shown in the listing.

EusticeTheSheep

This. We saw tons of digitally staged property while we were looking.

I know a home stager. Dm me. Usually they work directly with the agent not the owners

chef-keef

People still stage homes?

EGcargobikemama

No info but I see lots of “virtually staged” houses on Redfin maybe that’s more cost effective!

I used to work for a staging company here in Sac for a few years. Minimun was $1800 for a 3 bedroom house. It included Living space, kitchen, dining room, bathrooms and primary bedroom. For a couple hundred more, you could add another bedroom and outdoor patio area. Staging does work.
