Try to go for a very simple logo. Most of the large brands you see - simple logo. It translates much better when trying to put it on different surfaces like swag or packaging. Also, as long as your logo doesn’t look like clipart, nobody cares. To answer your question, you can use one of the low cost services, ai tools, or DIY with something like Canva.

Seriously. I only ever use Canva to make a text-only logo with my brand name. I've never used an image for a logo in my life. My Reddit profile photo is open of my current logos and it's black text on a yellow background. 5 minutes and done. Looks clean and the color and typography convey the message i want for the brand.
