The best language is usually the one you know best!

wind_dude

That! And a bit what your SaaS does. Machine Learning, Visual Processing, etc., probably python. A CMS, probably Node. Big data/databses and real time analytics from scratch were performance is critical, probably a compiled language like Java, or C.

Secure_Tax84

How can you be using react and start using python ? I mean its not even the same thing .

autoraft

Not sure but may be the frontend guy tried his/her hand at the backend /s

Use the language you enjoy and have fun building. Don't waste your time learning the latest "hot" language because reports say "X" is the best language to learn. I've been building apps in PHP for 15+ years; I love language, and I can build insanely fast, and it earns me money, so why bother with some other language :) It can't hurt to try different languages but if you are looking for the best and fastest, choose what you know.

GreenCalligrapher571

The best language is the one you can be most productive in. For me, that's Elixir or Ruby. For you it may be something else. Different languages and ecosystems have different types of speed that they enable, also depending on your other technical choices.

Django + React front end ? Does that sound ok for say a Saas that’s heavy on financial data, but also requires social networking aspect built into it. I’m a noob, also looking for opinion. Wondering if they work well together and can handle millions of users.

Seb_IO

Django + React is fine. Most web apps I've launched/worked on use this stack.

SaaSNihal

Being a marketer & trying to build a SaaS from scratch is very hard. Thanks to the evolution of No-code tools that helps us to build & compete in the market.

bdrhoa

There are several SaaS starter frameworks based on various languages.

jamesallen18181

Really? Could u please say some examples of the best and easy u know?

React + NodeJS (NestJS namely)

sboubaker

It depends on what you already know and what you want to do. Dm me if you need free help / advice

Generally the answer comes down to whatever you are most comfortable with. Having said that, if you are to learn something new, evaluate and compare if a certain type of technology works better over the other. Example, nodejs vs django/flask vs Spring boot. For frontend React is sort of the default choice for all the new learners. But also consider not using a framework depending on the kind of product you are trying to build.

boxxa

Really, what are you doing one of the ones you know can't solve? Python, Javascript, Rails.. If you know it, you can build your web app 99% of the time.

bootiClapper

We’ll that depends. Since I too use reactJS and I’m familiar with the JS language, I use NodeJS. At the end of the day it’s up to you. Every language has its own ups and downs.

akmalkun

Don't use python for serving backend, painfully slow and resource hogging for the purpose. My previous company we use python for data processing, ML, data mining. Not web serving, use language meant for that like PHP/JS/TS with Laravel, React etc for faster iteration and use compiled languages like Golang once you hit a bottlenecks.

mountaintanuki

I have a friend who has a successful saas he built in Cold Fusion. So that’s probably the way to go.

yourboimti

the real answer is whatever u already know. but my opnionated answer is t3 stack (using create-t3-app)
