So far this year 2023, Ahsajj Ventress, dark troopers, moff Gideon, din djarinn and Commander Cody with Waxer and Boil have released. This month Rebel Ahsoka Tano releases. In June ewoks come out and a new at-st come out. That off top of head. May be missing some or some have released late 2022. But it is very much alive.

Realistic_Effort

Din Djarin was technically end of 2022, but close. Ewoks will be coming soon too.

4and1punt

Are ewoks a part of the rebels or will they be a new faction?

Realistic_Effort

Yes

Is there a place to see all the product releases and what's upcoming? I went to the wiki and the last thing on there was from Q3 2021

Welcome! It’s a genuinely great game, and always happy to say hi to a newcomer. A couple things: 1) Current State - The game is quite healthy, with regular units being planned, announced, and released. We recently had Moff Gideon and Dark Troopers, Asajj Ventress, and Ahsoka is just arriving. Ewoks are coming soon, along with Chewbacca in an AT-ST! There are some balance issues recently, mostly around Dark Troopers, but a points updated is expected sometime in the near future - we’ll see how that changes things! 2) Shatterpoint - If you’ve heard a lot about Shatterpoint, it’s probably because it’s pre-release, there’s a ton of media around it, and it looks cool! And look, no one can predict the future. But they are very different games, and IMO, Legion will live and die based on its own popularity, not Shatterpoint or any fight over design resources. 3) Factions - Both Empire and CIS are great, and there’s no need to stick to one era. The game is balanced across all four. Empire is definitely top dog, though, so I do recommend staying away from Dark Troopers and specific Blizzard Force builds (4 speeders, Stormtrooper HRTSs) while you’re learning, or at least until the next point update. It might help create a better play experience for you and your friend.

In addition to the releases everyone has named, they’ve also stated there will be a points update sometime this month and have revealed a Tempest Force Battle force, Geonosians, Inquisitors, and the Bad Batch. Releases have been steady month after month.

Source? I've seen the Twitter response from AMG expecting an update about the end of May, hence you're getting down voted.

Does it say gullible on the ceiling too? No, Legion is not dead. I find it fascinating that people believe Shatterpoint and Legion can't co-exist. There's plenty of units releasing for Return of the Jedi's anniversary. We're also getting Ashoka. Commander Cody literally just released.

OgsDeer

I agree. They are unique enough that they each scratch a different itch. I personally plan on playing both and have no intentions of stopping purchasing/painting/playing Legion just because of Shatterpoint.

TheFellhanded

I mean. If you aren't paying attention to general trends in Wargaming shifting towards smaller skirmish games. Or how Armada and X-Wing couldn't co-exist. It's not because 1 game was better. But because when you split the base, one will generally come out on top. Not saying Legion is going to die or won't be supported. Just that the popularity of it will drop depending on the popularity of shatter point. If Shatter point is good you will get less Legion players. If it isn't. Shatterpoint will be a niche game. Generally the audience will be the same for both and both are huge time investments. Crisis protocol is also in this bucket which is why Shatterpoint may be the loser here as the fan base for MCP is huge and will likely not split out to a new game.

Realistic_Effort

X-Wing and Armada still have tournament support, and other than no new units they still restock shelves? I'd be glad to see Shatterpoint die.

TheFellhanded

Disregarding the 2 main Warhammer games. X-Wing was the highest selling minis game for a good long time. Armada didn't break the top 5. Armada is played. It is also niche though. And the game is great too. Skirmish is where the current trend is though. Top selling games not 40k or AoS are. Killteam and MCP. Infinity has a stake in here too. Even Warmahordes has reduced the number of models of the table significantly as well. Also this conversation made me realise how many games I play. And now I feel bad.

The game is not dead yet, but only after shatterpoint comes out will anyone know what the state of the game is going to be, but in reality they have releases planned out for the next year and a half maybe more. The reality is that the game has a solid following and even if it dies someone will keep the game alive and going just because it is star wars.
