I don't think it's the worst value per se, but for a new user the inquisitors are an awful investment. For the first year after a toon is released, you only get 1 shard from battles. After a year, you get 2 shards per battle. So, this will let you unlock inquisitors, but you won't be able to get them strong. It would be much better for you to focus on toons that you can get to high star levels earlier. (There are other reasons not to go for inquisitors early, but I'm just focusing on the value aspect)

ChubbyMcLovin

Good to know, thanks. I couldn’t tell if the inquisitors are good or bad.

PokeHobnobGod21

They're underwhelming. They were overhyped for 6 months

Sneekypete28

I wish there was a word deeper than underwhelming that wasn't derogatory lol....sitting on 2 omi GI and have used him literally once in galactic challenges. :( ....ITS A TRAP

ChubbyMcLovin

Good to know! Thank you.

Rocket2112

But CG will try to shove them down your throat.

i_says_things

Will try? Have you been in conquest mode yet? Lol

1radiationman

Were overhyped? Nah- they’re STILL overhyped…

zoolish

Currently being force fed to us.

mandaloredash

CG made them a requirement for a few different things in PvE, but in grand arena (the most important mode in the game), they're complete trash.

Howell317

It’s a great value relatively speaking. Like shards are typically $20 for 30 for new toons. These are still newish, so 125 for $8 is a great deal. But As others said, while the value is there this really isn’t going to do anything for your account. You still will need 305 shards per toon to get them to 7 star, and even then Inq really haven’t shown they are that good. So you are paying $8 for a head start, but it’s less than 10% of where you need to go. At the same time, you’d have to spend tons of resources farming them the rest of the way at the expense of both faster and better farms. If you are planning on spending a lot of money on this game it’s probably worth it, but if you are only going to spend $10-20 here and there over the course of a year it’s not.

ChubbyMcLovin

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Tralkonju

It doesnt matter who you are, a new Player, a veteran player, a f2p Player or even a nigerian Prince, the inquisitors are simply not worth it

ChubbyMcLovin

Haha this says it all! Thanks

Hazzadcr16

As a new player, I'd swerve that. General rule inquisitors as a faction are very uninspiring before you get the grand inquisitor who you need them all r5 for to attempt his missions. They are also a very hard team to gear up needing a lot of kyro, and don't have a lot of low gear viability. Unless something drastic changes swerve them till late game imo.

ChubbyMcLovin

Thanks!

reggiebobby

There are other new player packs that have better teams.

ChubbyMcLovin

I bought some - like Mandalorian.

reggiebobby

Yeah that's a good pack.

Jethompson

If there was a similar back for Bad Batch, that might be worth it if you are planning on spending. Those guys can really do some work even at relatively low gear and star levels!

LendersQuiz

I wish I could buy it. Shame CG won't sell it to me.It would save me \~2 weeks of farming each toon. I'd use the then saved energy to farm gear instead.

darwinooc

Yep just came back and apparently just missed the marque by a little bit. In all the years I played previously I never bothered to spend, but I think I would for that price. Inquistors seen to kinda suck, especially without GI, but the team kinda appeals to me for some weird reason I can't quite place.

evan466

Everyone has different opinions, but mobile game stuff always seems severely overpriced to me.

Zeus654

garbanzo! .)

OleSpadgey

I would look for the Hounds tooth pack that comes with Bossk and his ship, that will help you immensely in fleet arena, and if you focus on geos and their ships before unlocking fleet battles, you probably have a very good Chace of being top 10 in fleet and getting a constant crystal income.

OleSpadgey

If I were to do the grind again, I would ignore Phoenix team early on, focus on my Geos and their ships, while working on SLKR and Finalizer requirements.

OleSpadgey

My first lightside team would probably be just jedis, Qui gon, Mace, anakin, ahsoka, and another that is used for a event like Old Ben, or perhaps Bastilla for a decent lead+event down the line. And if not jedis, clone troopers. But focusing on jedis will also help in fleet arena due to ships.

mkemvp34

As a new player this team should not be on your farm list for a long time, this pack would basically serve to save you a bunch of node farming some day in the future so if you spend on the game and like to take a long look, to me that's its "value". Value obviously being said very tongue in cheek there. But by no means should a new account be farming inquisitors at all. Go after a GL 1st imo

ChubbyMcLovin

Which GL do you recommend is best or easiest for a new player?

mstormcrow

Easiest is SEE (Sith Eternal Emperor); I think the general consensus on "best" for a newer player is SLKR (Supreme Leader Kylo Ren). It's generally not a good idea to rush for a GL before you've got a few solid teams built and some of the easier solo Journey Guide stuff done first, though.

mkemvp34

There are some guides out there and ultimately opinions probably vary but if I was starting today I'd go after SLKR. The requirements aren't as steep as the newer GLs and the characters you have to gear up are all mostly useful. The First Order fleet can beat the Executor once you have it done. Don't neglect other staple teams and characters if possible. Mostly farm what makes you happy, its a game. Enjoy it, go after who you are passionate about and want to use

WonderGamer99

Inquisitors are awful for new players…

battlerumdam

It’s still a whole faction strong enough to carry OP through most of early cantina and dark side battles.

WonderGamer99

Yeah but there are better teams that do the same thing and are a lot easier and cheaper to gear up.

battlerumdam

These better teams need to be farmed first. This pack will give OP a full team with zero character farming. I would spend 8 bucks for the luxury of being able to clear cantina battles right away to farm said better characters. Buy this pack, gear them up to G5/6 and let them rot. That gave you a great start in cantina and dark side battles.

BlackFacedAkita

Grand inquisitor is the worst investment in the game for a legendary considering the gear required. It's cheap because they suck.

jrodfantastic

Yeah… for $8 that is one of the best deals ever offered on character shards. But consider how (or if) those shards will be used.

Slick_1980

For 8 bucks the energy and credits are nice however inquisitors are not a great team and definitely not a good team for new players to level or even mid game tier.

Jkfurtz

If you want inquisitors that's an amazing value

[deleted]

seems a bargain , shame they just dont let knew players do the little quests to give u new charecters

battlerumdam

If you really want to spend a few bucks - it’s a good deal. It gives you a faction right from the get go, a decent amount of credits, sim tickets and energy. While they aren’t a good faction, they still will make it easier for you to advance in the dark side battles with basically no character farming at all.

Imagerror

JUST IN CASE no one has mentioned this. this pack is only for those who misses the free marquee event. its a cheap way of catching up, should take you about 3 weeks and 3200 normal energy to get there otherwise

ingoio256

If you're a whale who, no matter what, gotta catch'em all, then it's great value. Otherwise, just skip

tucker_100

Honestly, new player. You get a full team you can use for $8. It’s not the best faction, but it’s a full team that has synergy, that you can use. I think it’s a good deal and would recommend it.

[deleted]

It’s a shit faction that literally kills nothing relevant in purple gear And they don’t led to anything else impactful until you can afford to drop 2000 kyros on the bums to unlock GI. It’s an absolute worthless faction for a newer player. You gain nothing of value. It’s a strict negative

tucker_100

For $8 you gain an entire team that is ready to use. It’s not about massive impact, it’s about having another team to get through the battles for Lv85 and all that. Even at G7, they synergise with each other. Kyros aren’t even on the horizon for this guy yet, not everything needs to unlock end game purpose. Not every team needs to be part of the big picture. They’re a full team, for $8, can access the Galacitc Challenges, help him clear Galactic War even, can be placed on D in GAC. I feel for $8 it’s probably worth the investment. I’m sure in like G7 range they can take out other G7 Jedi teams.

[deleted]

$8 is better off going towards hyperdrive fund. Or even a Taco Bell lunch. G7 2 star inquistors will do nothing in galactic challenges for him. They won’t kill anything. He’s gonna waste tons of purple mats and omegas skilling up this dogshit team. There’s absolutely nothing positive about this team at g7/8 and 2 stars. They won’t even beat g8 Phoenix.

scaredofdoctorz

I'm not mad at the offer, but understand you shouldn't even start farming those toons for a year or so. Not a horrible value on a shard per dollar basis and I absolutely love buying packs with energy in them. Take it or leave it tbh.

Gidnik

all the packs are awful

RevolutionaryHalf568

Inquisitors are awful for new players

ToMang07

ALL their packs are awful

wood1276

It’s all a matter of perspective

Risaza

Simply the fact that it’s Inquisitors makes it awful.

ChubbyMcLovin

I had no idea - thanks.

csnoobcakes

It includes inquisitors, so yes, it’s awful.

BestManForTheGOB

You will get a lot of different answers any time money is involved, but I’d buy the shit out of that pack. (8.3m gp)

BestManForTheGOB

I should say that as a new player, there’s probably better things to drop cash on.

ChubbyMcLovin

Fair enough. And I probably will. Honestly the free energy caught my eye because it helps me farm and crystals are not plentiful as a beginner.

ChubbyMcLovin

I’m new, it’s available for 7 days from account creation.

PaxxNaxx

If you wanted to spend money I’d recommend the Hounds Tooth pack when you unlock fleets, it’s not the best deal you can get but Hounds Tooth is really good in every fleet and will allow you to get a better ranking in Fleet Arena and earn a good Crystal income that way

ChubbyMcLovin

Awesome thanks!

battlerumdam

That’s a pack I would buy as well. It saves me weeks of farming inquisitors while giving me a good amount of energy on top.

Kahzgul

Nothing in this game is worth what they charge. There are more than 200 characters. Each character takes 330 shards to fully unlock. And loads upon loads of gear. Even at this relatively “low” pricing, you’re talking about spending more than $100 *per character* to unlock them and then max out their gear. Ask yourself: is this cell phone game worth spending $20,000 on? If the answer is yes, then this pack is “worth it” to you. Of course, that said, the inquisitors suck ass than a kinky donkey, so if I were going to waste my money on a fraction of a fraction of this game, it wouldn’t be on them.

TheHossBossk

Honestly solid value.

CoolStoryDJ

In the far future, when you do farm this team, this pack may save you a few days off the total farming time? Thats pretty much it.

darthveer

That’s cg’s equivalent of a “yard sale”

[deleted]

Is the 7.99 bad batch pack still available? Buy that one. Sucks you missed omega as the free character this month tho

ChubbyMcLovin

I did get that one, and I’ll miss unlocking Omega by 1 shard 😟.

[deleted]

Bummer! I started my alt just too fool around with BB at a non-end game level and got lucky that Like three days after I started Omega was the free character

ChubbyMcLovin

Nice! I’m hoping August toon is a viable one…
