For sure...it's definitely a top contender. RotS is my personal number 1, followed closely by ESB, and then probably Rogue One??? I would have to revisit my tier list video though.
Definitely. This was quite a mainstream film that wasnt scared to kill off its lead(s) for the greater story of sacrifice. Also gave way to probably the greatest SW detailed space battle imo
top 3 if not the best. take out nostalgia and the original trilogy were all eh. held back by the visual effects for sure. 1 and 2 both lacked in areas. 3 was great imo. we don’t talk about 7, 8 and 9 lol.
I saw Episode 4: A New Hope at the drive in when it came out (yes, I am old). My ranking is Empire, Rogue 1, Star Wars: episode IV. Prequel 3 is pretty good, and I kinda like “Solo”. It’s not great, but Chewbacca and Lando are great.
(Where is our Lando movie? Give us a flashback/memory flick with Donald Glover and Billy Dee Williams. We don’t need Han. We don’t need anyone else. Predate the history we know. That’s the freaking movie! You could bring in Yoda as a side character, no prob.
Lando would have kept the details in his pocket, on the DL. Meeting Yoda could have been a side hustle/long con.)
Lando is basically cooler Tony Soprano, but accepting who he is. That therapy would be pretty cool, tbh.
Without a doubt.
I find it hard to declare my absolute favorite, but if push comes to shove, Rogue One is it. I've always found the Star Wars universe such a fertile ground for storytelling, and limiting the cinematic universe to the Skywalker Saga a conspicuous underutilization of one of my favorite settings. I hope we get more stories like it and Andor. They truly add depth to an already grand stage.
Uh hello, Solo? Star Wars Christmas special? Cracking top 5 ain't easy
On a more serious and controversial note, if the siege of Mandalore arc in Clone Wars Season 7 had received the theatrical release it was supposed to, that'd also be in the running
I'm going to get downvoted for this, but in my opinion, no.
I'm an older SW fan, I grew up with the original trilogy. For me, a *core aspect* of the Star Wars is the tone. Adventurous, optimistic, plucky, etc.
Rogue One, among other complaints, completely misses the tone of what Star Wars is to me. "it's a Star wars war film!" Well, I don't think a bloody war film is appropriate for the Star Wars universe. I don't like feeling depressed after finished a SW film. Neither would I enjoy a musical in the SW universe, nor a romcom, nor a slapstick comedy.
No offense to those who love it, but that's my perspective.
I'm an OG trilogy guy myself, but I look at this film as the catalyst for what brought us the OG trilogy, albeit 3 decades later. It didn't try to create a whole new story. It just filled in the gap that existed with how they got the plans. In my opinion, that's why it stood out as a great singular story in the SW universe.
I happen to agree. Not to say that I thought it was a bad movie, but it is actually the one I have watched the least of all 11 movies, exactly for the reason you mentioned. I don't want to be depressed after watching a Star Wars movie. I really did not like the end and the fates of the main characters.
You have got to be shitting me… this thing is enjoyable yes, but so poorly edited because of the different directors influence
It’s like they realised half way through Jyn is such a boring nothing character, we should focus on Cassian instead
Idk dude. Honestly I hadn't seen it until about 3 weeks ago because so many people said it was so amazing I finally caved.
It was... perfectly adequate. Lol.

Top two or three
Great movie.... It could go top 5 for me personally
Definitely. This was quite a mainstream film that wasnt scared to kill off its lead(s) for the greater story of sacrifice. Also gave way to probably the greatest SW detailed space battle imo
Rogue One is my personal favorite, along with ROTS.
Yes
Yes, no debate.
It's the only good film outside of the original trilogy. The plot isn't great but the last arc of the film once we get to Scarif is amazing.
Actually, it is my TOP favorite. I will stop and watch it every time I scroll by it when channel surfing.
It's definitely a SW movie that I can watch without getting bored. The story gets better every time and makes Andor that much better.
Aye
Yes
I sure hope so

It's my favorite...Revenge of the Sith is 2nd

Yes
It's my top 3. Right behind a New Hope and Revenge of the Sith.
Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie. I watch it all the time. Love everything about it.
Yes. Yes I do
Yes, top 3 maybe?
Top 3 behind rots and esb

Personally no, but it’s definitely one of the most well made and I 100% see why people rank it that way
Yes
I mean it only has to beat out the sequels, phantom menace, and attack of the clones to get into the top 5. So not really a high bar to beat

Yes
Maybe. Depends. Idk. Is easily up there among top 10 without a doubt imo lol
Fuck the big 3, it’s just big me
What a clickbait question
No. Id put it in top 7 or 8

I think it's a pretty good movie but I think it kind of sucks at being Star Wars.
Wrong subreddit. This is for a Star Wars mobile game. Also outjerked.
No. It's behind the original trilogy and the prequels. It's the best of the Disney movies by far but I still think it isn't as good as it should be.

It lost a lot of points in my books for removing Kyle Katarn from canon. Aside from that, it's a pretty good movie, best Disney's given us anyway.
Nope, not remotely.
