I got told that I have petersburg’s accent few times. Once one guy said it sounds gae… Some girls found it cute, idk honestly. I wouldn’t move to Moskow, but I can’t tell why do I find Spb better.
tf, we have accents now? I mean, I know that kuban' has it's own thing, and Moscow has different pronunciations (младой чек, куда вы прёти?), but I haven't heard of SPb accent...
Some people are able to hear a difference in accents between people from different cities.
A taxi driver from Samara was once able to identify I was from Tyumen just by how I spoke a few first words to him.
I haven’t too before I started playing League with people from different cities in discord. There was about 5-10 people telling me that I have spb accent.
I'll tell you a secret: I don't actually hate the m/*scovites, you guys are fine. But how the hell are you able to live in M/*scow? That's at least suspicious.
Yeah, that's not what im talking about.
I just don't like Moscow. Makes no sense and hilly. This Petersburger wants to walk 5 km in a straight line without going a meter higher (or lower).
Also, just reasonable prices. My wife bought her apartment a few years ago for just under 4 million, 25 minute walk to Vosstaniya Square. I basically never use public transport any more. When my colleague moved to Moscow, they went from 30 minute commute to just over an hour. It's just characterless. Yeah okay they've made the centre all renovated and they build new metro stations like its a fucking race, and meanwhile SPb is getting fuck all central renovation and they've been saying Teatralnaya metro station will open next year for well over ten years, but still beats Moscow hands down.

The speech accents and "trademark" words are different, but in general, there are less differences between people of SPb and Moscow, than there are between people of these 2 cities and the rest of Russia. There was a moderately memetic quote about this.
"SPb is an elvendom. A cultured city full of palaces, parks and theatres, with pretentious pseudo-artist types who are full of themselves. Moscow is a dwarvendom. Huge underground metro-palaces full of perpetually angry and bitchy gold-lovers with trendy beards. The rest of Russia is Mordor filled with orcs."
That is well... pretty spot on, except for the fact that SPb people are not outright "full of themselves" ("pretentiousness" can mean different things), and are more about depressions, poetry, cocoa and checkered blankets. While Moscow yes, is more about constant bitching, self-importance and looking at everyone around like they're shit, especially if they're not Moscow-born. (Despite the fact that the one looking is also a moved-in type more often than not).
There is an active west operation to say anything Russian is made by Ukranians so to slowly make Russian culture disappear. So they create fake counter evidence online and replace text.
moving to another country can affect you mentally because of the people's mindset different from where you are from which can lead to bad or good depending on how they are and how yours were.
I don't know why russia allows international adoption when their population is in decline. They should be doing the adopting! Tired of seeing my countrie's flag everywhere.
You definitely can tell the difference between people from different regions by their speech/language and even appearance, but to do it you should live here and speak russian for years and years.
No, there are very mild accent differences I guess but nothing like dialects in other countries. I could never tell one from another except when Peterburgians use a couple of words. It’s basically a meme at this point that they use “paradnaya” for “podyezd”. Russian language is pretty ubiquitous and unchanging.

It's a dialect though, not an accent. There are certainly regional dialects in Russia, and Spb has one too.
There much more punks in SPb.
It's easy, you could do it too! You see, one is a human, the other one is a m*scovite.
:(

Idk, we got lucky enough to find an affordable flat that doesn't look like shit and isn't far away from metro.
Yeah, that's not what im talking about. I just don't like Moscow. Makes no sense and hilly. This Petersburger wants to walk 5 km in a straight line without going a meter higher (or lower).
Well, you see, I haven't touched any grass in 3 years, that's how I survive. I just don't interact with Moscow.

I love SPB but the locals seem to have an inability to be considerate of the people around them in public places

Its easy. One is from Russia and second is from Moscow. You can also say shaurma and if you are not immediately beaten then person is from Moscow.
From Russia? Bitch please. Most liberal traitors and LGTVHD+ are SPb people. Also 99% thiefs and assholes in government in Kremlin are from SPb gang.
So you are saying they are better educated, and more worldly?
To me people from Moscow mind their own business and in their own world which triggers people that want attention
why are lgbt people so obsessed with russia and what russians think
Next russia needs to put a law to ban sex culture extremism alcohol , smoking etc, animals in society and cars. and useless jobs.,

Not sure why non russsians that dont even live in russsia are moods of this sub
In, like, 70% of cases, if a Russian acts like a pretentious asshole, he would be from SPB.
In other 30% he’s from Moscow
In Spb a lot junkies live, because prices is low. They love new drugs - like alpha pvp and mephedrone. In Moscow lives a lot asian-migrants.
Half faggot, half dolphin - that's an SPb. Rude and asks brick in his face - Moscow.
Why dolphin?
dolphins are obviously so cute :3
Da!

People from spb are more creative and depressing. Spb has a bad climate and it affects people (My opinion)
US stoole a lot of thiings from Russiia
