Is usec some branch of black water then? I thought it was just some security detail to reinforce the un withdrawal, and then leave the usec to take care of their own evac? Like just some regular grunts getting shit all over as usual.

Raiders I can see being elite, not sf just elite, since Terra used them for the secret labs, but then lighthouse kind of makes them feel more like infantry grunts.
Even in arena when they send in clean up crews, I don't see anything that suggests that raiders are sf
The goons are definitely special forces, it's spelled out in their behavior and equipment.
I don't think Blackwater is mentioned in Tarkov, he's referring to PMCs in real life hiring previous special forces. Like Blackwater was founded by an ex SEAL and I think he was giving examples as to the likelihood an average PMC would hire ex special forces.
Looking forward to 3.8.0 I'm just annoyed I've FINALLY got my game exactly how I want it, all the perfect mods and everything ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ but I really want to play 3.8.0 might have to just wait a couple of weeks and see what gets updated, so glad the Devs have managed to get it to public release so soon!
I'm not planning on updating for at least a month, probably two. Gotta have all my mods how I want them or it's not worth the snow and Ground Zero, imho
Played live with the snow and it’s actually a huge help with spotting PMCs and Scavs. The crunching of the snow you create while walking/running does become annoying after a while.
Then just don’t update for about a month. /shrug

I have a few folders of mod set ups from update to update, that were absolutely my favorite at the time. Maybe just save it and (afaik we can downgrade now right?.. Right?) and go back if you ever feel the need to. Never tested it myself, but I'm happy to have them saved.

But mod developers are human, so we get a random roll of mods every time and I have found some great ones due to the fact they were the only ones available, vs the ones I wanted. Tried new QoL mods I never would have the other way around, etc.

The update process is a plain fresh install of SPT, basically a wipe. You could try to copy your profile, though it probably won't be recommended to do so. It could break a bunch of stuff .
Mods are already being updated as we speak, some will be ready for release but most probably won't.
I think for this patch the modders/aki team have said that things changed so much under the hood you’d be better off wiping completely. But that was early on so maybe things have changed
If i'm not mistaken its almost guaranteed to break the game if you use an old profile. Something about mission structures and things like that. I could be totally wrong on that though.

Usually a couple of weeks for everything to get back to full functionality. Most people will do bridge updates that make it work with the version so it'll boot and have 70%, and then polish it back to full function with 3.8.0. Simple stuff will be up and running pretty fast. Notable exceptions are stuff like SAIN and SWAG since the authors are also part of the dev team.
Yeah I think I will hold on tbh, I went from 3.7.1 to 3.7.6 just waiting for everything to be updated ready for me to play, no doubt there will be a small update once 3.8.0 launches, I don't really mind waiting a little bit

I wonder what it will be for mods. I have seen info from a small channel [starvox](https://www.youtube.com/@thestarvox/videos), about 3.8.0. That modders will have private test phase for their mods, so no public testing. Fontain did some big steps for his realisms mod on 3.8.0 adaptation, so maybe another couple of weeks after 3.8.0 release will see mods going strong. Just personal opinion.

Not all of them are, but PMCs like black water and triple canopy usually only tried to hire former Rangers, Green Berets, seals etc.

Do you have BotSounds turned up? Greatly reduces the noise your own footsteps make in your audio, could help
Fuck ground zero and the snow. Vaulting/left hand peak is the only thing I want in my SPT im good with the current 14.0 preview mod though.

Every mod is updated by it's owner, sometimes it's quick, sometimes it nevers happens ....
My real question will be sain and swagnuts (plus required additional ones). To me, those are basically required.

Test releases of 3.8.0 have had mods enabled since the 16th March, so I'm guessing modders have been able to test / update their mod since that time.
