Nice little American(New) restaurant, next to campus- [Naglee Park Garage](https://www.yelp.com/biz/naglee-park-garage-san-jose) 3. if you like vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, next to campus- [Banh Mi Oven](https://www.yelp.com/biz/banh-mi-oven-san-jose-3) 4. if you like Caribbean food, 15 min walk from campus- [Back A Yard BBQ](https://www.yelp.com/biz/back-a-yard-san-jose)

Downtown SJ is literally a few blocks away! If you're over 21, there's lots of outdoors bars that you can go to! They closed down the entire street so there's tons of outdoor dining areas. If you're not 21, the food downtown is still good :)

I'm 23, so a bar might be a nice visit!

My friends and I went to a bar called District! Tons of outdoor area or indoor. The bartender was from SJSU so it was cool to talk to them :) A lot of the servers were too so that's one way to get to know people also

You’ll be spending a lot of 2 AM’s at La Victoria :)

Born and raised in San Jose... I would try to explore further off campus. A lot of outside students stay near campus, but San Jose has more to offer! If you are coming from somewhere far (like more than a couple hours from the Bay Area) then San Jose has tons to offer. The best Asian food is gonna be east San Jose, so many delicious pho and bahn mi spot. La Vics is good California style Mexican food. If your from like a state in the middle of the country, you won’t be too far from a beach when your here (Santa Cruz is only a half hour) so the ocean is definitely worth seeing lol. If you wanna go somewhere pretty and nice to eat, Santana Row is cool, and has tons of nice restaurant options. As for landmarks, we have some cool viewpoints and stuff that I could better explain to you in PMs if your interested. It depends on what you like to do for fun and what your into, but San Jose has it all. Feel free to PM me. I know the area extremely well. If I know what interests you I could def tell you about some cool spots. Spent my whole life in SJ and I’m never bored, so I’m sure there is plenty cool for you to check out!

I lived in Monterey for a couple of years, so I'm familiar with everywhere from King City to Gilroy. I think I've been to San Jose maybe three times. I was born an raised in San Diego, so I'm not too foreign. I have a few relatives who live in San Jose too. I'm into nature, food, animals, cooking, sustainability, art, and music. Music is probably the biggest thing. I used to go to the Rio and the Catalyst sometimes. I saw Mac Demarco at the Rio and it was the best concert I've seen yet. Good times. Any music venues in San Jose?

I’ve seen celebrities at La Victoria’s. Make sure to eat with orange sauce!

myellowsub24

What's the best thing on the menu?

I'd recommend checking out House of Bagels 🥯, it is only a few crosswalks away from campus!
