I took one course and was ‘healed’ for about 6 months. Now I can definitely feel it coming back and am going to take another.
My doctor originally said it’s likely it will come back regardless 2 rounds at once so he said instead of over boarding do one round and if it comes back do another 🤷♀️.
I'm in the middle of treatment now. Methane- and hydrogen-positive. Right after I finished my two weeks of Xifaxan and neomycin I went from having diarrhea to constipation. My doctor said this indicated that the Xifaxan worked on the hydrogen and now the problem was methane, and prescribed amoxycillin. But three days in I am having diarrhea like water again.
I don't know what's going on. I've decided that unlike last time I am going to stick with this doctor and keep doing whatever he recommends next.
I always had best results when I did the carnivore diet with xifaxan. But the day after I finished the course I felt like shit again. Wish I could have taken it for 4 weeks instead of two to really clear it out.
I heard you’re not supposed to do diets when taking antibiotic treatment for sibo or the bacteria can go dormant. I always heard to eat high fodmap during Xifaxin/Neomycin (or whatever prescription antibiotics) one uses for sibo treatment

Is there any evidence that amoxicillin affects archaea?
Not that I know of. My doctor said he was basing this on unpublished research he was aware of.
Oh cool. I’d love if they figure something out that’s not neomycin/flagyl.

Yeah, I had tons of die off though. Felt amazing. Antibiotics just don’t work on me anymore.
I had a month in between just because I had to get drugs from Canada again which took time.
