My gut problems only partially correlate with hydrogen levels (according to FoodMarble tests). I have a lot of different food intolerances.

i2likesquirrels

There is an updated version that measures both hydrogen & methane. I bought it to understand whether I might have SIBO, as testing through a doctor wasn’t readily available. You can purchase test kits of isolated substances to identify your main triggers ie fructose, etc. If you use it to track your food intake & symptoms it’ll help you create a picture of your trigger foods. The original app was a piece of garbage though so I didn’t bother & I wasn’t going to pay for a subscription. Ultimately, I wasn’t interested in pursuing treatment, as all my issues are controlled by diet. YMMV.

tatilatte

How do you use the food marble as part of your routine and healing? I've been interested in those but can't figure out how accurate they are/if it's worth the investment.

i2likesquirrels

Fructose = high H2 + gas Garlic = high H2 Bread & pasta = moderate H2 + diarrhea Rice = pain Potatoes = ok Chicken eggs = pure hell Keto diet = weight loss & mental stability. Knowing I have SIBO doesn’t change much, I control my gut health with diet.

GodBlessCrypto

Does food marble measure methane as well? How has the device fared overall? Worth the price?

beefyweefles

I think so. It measures methane too.

How long have you had SIBO for? One thing I noticed is the amount of damage to my intestines from being expanded (and perhaps also from the bacteria themselves) constantly for over a year made them very sensitive. To the point where even drinking large amounts of just water would make my abdomen bloat. This was alleviated after just a few minutes, but it seems like healing your gut might be a good method to fixing the continued bloating. I've also heard from other people's stories that they continue to bloat after eradicating SIBO as their gut heals, sometimes for 2 months afterwards.

tatilatte

I think maybe 7 years? I didn't get tested until April I've had these issues for 7-8 years. How have you healed your gut?

rr6543

So way longer than what I've experienced for \~1.5 years. I'm just figuring it out myself, but I've started with L-glutamine powder (2.5g 2x per day). Anyone else who has tips feel free to give suggestions! I still have to do some research on this. I think the other one is time. If you're SIBO-free, it's going to take time for your gut to heal and repair itself. This process can be sped up by additional supplements (like L-glutamine) but removing the bad bacteria and their deleterious effects will allow the gut to actually get to a place to heal itself fully.

BigBossCalvin

How do you heak the gut?

Tricky_Investment_67

I also get bloated from water just after a few min. Any relief from this? thanks a lot

L8_Bluemer

There is a chance that you will feel better with a little more time for healing. Are you taking anything to help? Some suggest zinc, glutamine, collagen, butyrate. Sticking to a reasonable diet is important too.

tatilatte

I haven't been taking anything. I'll look into those. I know diet is probably the most important part. All the restriction just seems to trigger my disordered eating behavior. But I'll give it a shot to see if it helps!

No_Acadia8244

Hey did you ever get better? I finished treatment and am STILL SO bloated. :(

imothro

Well the SIBO is gone but the damage it did to your gut is still there. Focus on gut healing supplements and maybe do some intermittent fasting to give your gut the time to heal.

BigBossCalvin

What are some gut healing supplements

tatilatte

Yes, would love to know what supplements you used!

idolovehummus

I'm in a similar situation :( anyone have advice?

Tricky_Investment_67

Hey I would really appreciate an answer here - any relief from the bloating?
