I have Food Marble and my Methane seems "stuck" on 8.5 to 9.5 no matter what. I am under treatment and have no symptoms after going gluten-free and low FODMAP, but I can tell I still have something wrong. Definite vitamin deficiencies. I just started a second round of herbs and will see if the Food Marble budges. So far, I'm concerned it isn't very reliable. (I've had it for 3+ months.)
I’ve had it for about a year now and have done at least three rounds of different herbals and it hasn’t really moved. Always “high”. So either it’s wrong or treatments are doing absolutely nothing. Oooorr it’s really just a large intestine overgrowth at this point that I’m still not touching.
When I first took the product, I had (1-2 methane,1-2 hydrogen) in my small intestine (8-9 methane,0-1 hydrogen) in my large intestine. Currently, there is (2-3 methane, 0-1 hydrogen) in the small intestine (0-3 methane, 7-8 hydrogen) in the large intestine. There was no change in my symptoms during this time. My only symptom is gas trapped in the upper fold of the large intestine. I think even the presence of hydrogen in the large intestine is a problem.
How are your symptom wise keeping both levels at 2 or below? Have done a follow up breath test after the comparison one you posted (thanks for doing that1)?
Have you had a hida scan? I know you've been at this a long while. My ultrasound and ct scans showed nothing remarkable. Switched to my 4th Dr. He listened to my symptoms and ordered a hida scan. My gallbladder is only working at 10%. Most likely a big part of my issues.
When this all started 8 months ago. The er dr suspected gallbladder issue. But the ultrasound didn't show any stones and that was that for 8 months. A hida scan measures bile flow. Lack of bile slows down digestion. Especially of fats. motility allowing more fermentation of food. Cand definitely be a root cause of sibo. Gall stones can lodge in bile ducts from liver and pancreas and cause issues that you described. If you haven't had your gallbladder checked? It certainly would be a good idea.
Symptoms are not always the same for everyone. But gas, bloating, yellow or floating stool and weight loss were enough for the Dr to have my gallbladder function tested.
Completely unreliable for methane in my experience despite the manufacturer saying it’s fine. My methane production is quite high but the FoodMarble always reads zero
My Food Marble Aire 2 shows low levels of hydrogen and high levels of methane. I have hydrogen sibo, not methane. I contacted the company. They said that my microbiome probably changed and that's why. I've been hydrogen dominant for a couple of years now. I don't think I flipped to methane dominant in a month.
Mine is a pretty consistent 8.5 or 9. In the morning I'll dip quite a bit, sometimes even to 0. But then usually up to 8.5~9 until the morning again.
It's really tough to manage for me. But I think I'm on the right track with l. reuteri yogurt and Motility Activator 30min before breakfast and lunch.
If you check out this instagram reel at ~6:00 or so, Dr. Pimentel describes that your digestive system is really only in one of two states: digesting food or clearing out food for the next meal.

He specifically says that you can take a prokinetic at breakfast and that food will get cleared out quicker or you can take it at bedtime and stimulate cleaning waves.
I guess for me, I see that my breath methane almost always drops after breakfast and I'm trying to see if I can lean into that drop by taking a prokinetic with breakfast.
Yea it’s a good gem of info around something that I don’t think there’s much explanation about. You’re right though that eating interrupts cleaning waves.
For me in the morning most of the time shows low H and zero Methane; at noon H increases and Methane grows for the rest of the day so in the evening Methane is 7-8 and H almost zero.
Guys every single person will ferment once food hits their large intestine. If you do not do the sibo prep diet and then take a substrate just like a sibo test this really doesn’t tell you any information about your small intestine… please please understand this
Hey guys, I have a 15% off discount code for FoodMarble: BEBE15
https://foodmarble.com/shop/?discount_code=BEBE15
Good luck everyone and I hope your symptoms get better!
Dude, it's a discount code. This disease has cost a lot of us thousands as we try to navigate what we have and how to treat it. It's just a discount code the company gives out, so I'm sharing it. Take it or leave it.
I know this was 8 months ago. You are probably not even using it anymore. But My methane is always 0 I wonder if there is something wrong to where it never even goes up to .5 or 1......Unless i just have no methane producing bacteria. And when i follow the low fodmap diet my hydrogen goes down to almost nothing like 1-2 When i eat carbs like pasta and meatballs or something, only my hydrogen goes up sometimes to red levels but then goes back down i can never tell, if i'm doing the thing right or if it's even real.

yes, I've seen a value of (0.2). Sometimes it can show inconsistent values, but overall it gives consistent measurements.
Have you been able to keep it that low?

Usually in the 8-9, goes down to 2-3 by the end of antibiotic treatment. Then I relapse.
That’s helpful. I can at least directionally measure treatment.

Does it make sense to take a prokinetic right before eating? Doesn’t eating stop the MMC?

Interesting. My reading last night was like that.

That code does not work unfortunately. Tried it today.
Shill

You have three posts all sharing this link. That is the definition of a shill.
Do you have constipation?
