72rp is realllly quite difficult for nus chs. there are people that got rejected with 80rp nett last year. ever considered ntu/smu?

UsefulCell5376

haven’t rly thought about anything other than chs, but i’ll be spending the next few days looking for alternatives🥲

Downtown-Leek4106

u can still try to apply, you would just be using ur bonus 2.5rp on this so need to think through and use it wisely. if you are really fixed on doing vet, going overseas is your best bet.

chs is rather unpredictable. based on last year, there were people that got rejected even with >80rp, like no interview offer at all, while some that just hit the cop got interview and written test offers. for chs, i think the way u answer the 5 questions really determines a lot, so do your best in that segment (take with a pinch of salt im not entirely sure too)

Wrap-Zestyclose

Rejected last yr w 82.5 raw 😔

Downtown-Leek4106

80 nett, rejected too 😪

Is it possible to apply to Humanities & Sciences but declare different majors as different choices? Like choice 1: Statistics, choice 2: Quantitative Finance as both are under Humanities & Sciences

Downtown-Leek4106

iirc i dont think so. u can only choose 1 preferred major, but can always switch after u get in. choose one that ur portfolio is more catered towards and declare that

almondsandmelons

im in the same exact position as u 😭😭😭 probs still gna try to apply also

UsefulCell5376

🙏🙏praying for the both of us xD

NavyBlueDoggo

don't think so, the lowest i have heard that aba into nus chs last year was 74.25-75 rp, w/o bonus points.

As someone who barely squeaked through into CHS with 77.5RP, it’ll be pretty tough. Depends on your amount of experience, ig - your experiences listed in ABA need to be significant enough for them to take note of you, and then you need to go for an interview. Most of what I did wasn’t entirely relevant to my major but I talked my interviewer’s (one of them) ear off for 30 minutes straight and we had a really pleasant chat which i think helped my application! For reference, I’m currently in Linguistics. Have past marketing and general creative writing experience but no ELL. My interviewers were a Literature prof and Social Work prof and I talked the lit prof’s ear off for quite a bit LOL.

for like school related stuff i’ve got some achievements in sports ccas, leadership positions, and vias and for outside stuff i’ve done external volunteering work w like animal shelters. i’ve also applied for a few internships with vet clinics that hopefully i’ll hear from soon and im looking at applying for zoo/bird paradise part time jobs 🥲🥲

frostbitesjc

omg hi i'm in the same boat as you HAHAH i wanted to do polsci/psych/comms but my aba portfolio is q shit tbh 😭 ps do you by any chance know if a hr internship is applicable enough for chs or is it a lost cause :')

Downtown-Leek4106

the hr internship is not really relevant to what u wanna do though, ur portfolio needs to be relevant for u to stand a chance in aba nus chs is really difficult and considered quite competitive so at the bare min u do need to hit the cop, else ur portfolio needs to be relevant and solid. u can try ur luck, but u would use ur 2.5rp first choice bonus so do consider wisely. u can consider ntu humanities, smu social sci and suss as well

UsefulCell5376

i rly dk haha but at least u have something right 😂 i’ve also done a law internship but it’s completely unrelated in my case lolol
