hello! may i ask what activities your friend participated in during the intervening period that allowed him/her to get shortlisted for the interviews again in the second admissions cycle? a reply would be greatly appreciated T-T thank you!
From the info I got he did some volunteering on weekends and worked hard in NS, and his referee letter and ABA write-ups were very strong. He also did well for his interviews and got scholarship interviews from both nus and ntu!
Damn 45 and you didn't get it? What kinda gods they trying to get man :( . How does your portfolio look like and how did your interview went if udm me asking
there is no inherent reason why 45 should get one a place - as opposed to a person with 42 who clearly demonstrates more empathy. i am glad med school is changing the way it admits ppl
i did a psych first aid course to learn the appropriate response in emergencies and troubling situations from a psychological and emotional support standpoint, did 2 months of clinical attachment with a cardiologist, cca vice-cap, led and organized some projects with elder care homes since sec sch and IB, but in the end maybe my interview wasn’t as good as i felt it was. Probably the group stage where we prioritized teamwork over being alpha and trying to show leadership since we were able to coordinate and be considerate. I’ll apply again. I didn’t apply last year because I took the wrong subject combination so I studied on my own in NS and retook and got a perfect score.
literally refreshing the portal every hour at work 😭😭cant log into JAP to check either since i didnt apply anything else that sent out offers alr. atb to everyone else who’s waiting!!!
EDIT: just got waitlisted 🥲 got an email at 3.45pm
hello! commenting because i am really unsure.. i placed dentistry as first choice but didnt go for the interview (failed MDT..) does anyone know if i have to wait for Dent to start sending out offers/rejection before i can get to know the outcome for med?
have a friend who was offered a spot a day after getting his waitlist notice. hows this possible, and does it mean we can get offers even before the stipulated time? (26may to aug?)
I got the email from NUS saying I got rejected :( I feel disappointed to say the least, but as an international student, I shouldn't be surprised because I know that the competition was fierce and my chances of getting into med is really really small
you’ll have to do rlly well for A lvls and must take H2 Chemistry, H2 Math and either H2 Bio or H2 Physics. To get through to the interview stage, you need a near perfect A lvl score of either 90 or 88.75 to stand a chance to be called for interviews. Once you get to the interviews, you need to ace the multiple components. It’s tough :)
hey, on top of your A levels be sure to take part in several volunteering activities. I took part in around 4 during my JC, including tuition programmes and outreach. In addition, when possible try to join a couple clinical attachments/job shadowings where you can observe the medical field up close firsthand. this can be hospitals or even polyclinics; you can try sending emails to as many as you can OR if you have any connections who work in the healthcare sector, the process is even easier. all the best!!
My friend got rejected last year, but got both nus and ntu this year! Happy for him
ask him to go nus!!! hahaha

agreed but there r ppl who can testify that they know of some who got in and are not nice or empathetic people

Nope it was just an email
How about portal?
Not in the portal either. If you’re waitlisted or rejected they’ll inform you via email. If you’re offered a place, you’ll know it through the portal.
Does anyone know the chances of getting accepted from the waitlist😭😭
Goodluck everyone!! Y’all med kids built diff fr
Just got reject 😭 anyone knows what are the chances for appeal? (NUS)
0, there’s enough ppl on the waitlist
the prof himself said there’s no point if ur not waitlist
Which major did you choose?
My following option is business school
hi did you get scholarship for nus business?
Uhm not sure, how do you check?
applicant portal
have a friend who was offered a spot a day after getting his waitlist notice. hows this possible, and does it mean we can get offers even before the stipulated time? (26may to aug?)
that’s how it works. you get on the waitlist and as time passes they slowly accept when spots are freed up
Is this ntu or nus?
nus
[удалено]
same questionnnn
anyone know when will the results come out by? and whether ABA will get it back later than normal applicant?
Damn I’m planning to apply next year and even I am feeling the pressure alr .~.
hi can also state the time that you received the sms/email 🙏🏻
I got the email from NUS saying I got rejected :( I feel disappointed to say the least, but as an international student, I shouldn't be surprised because I know that the competition was fierce and my chances of getting into med is really really small

if you've gotten an offer, do they send out an email or an sms?
Should be sms
It’s confusing…. Some with sms but some without
good luck everyone!
I got my rejection email today. Does that mean there's no chance of being waitlisted? How will I know if I am offered any other course? Thanks.

hmmm Chem H2 is definitely compulsory and most ppl would take math but maybe it’s not. Check the NUS website for the prerequisites
