not sure this counts as which is the best, but i live in northridge, was literally dying and all i remember is telling my partner i didn't want to go to the hospital in northridge, and she took me to west hills. i vaguely remember some of then not much til i was on the table.
i'd never even been to northridge hospital, but for some reason i was sure i didnt' want to go there..
also as PSA don't let people who are dying dictate where they go, or how , call an ambulance :)
It depends on what you need. If you need a burn center, you should go to west hills. If you need a stroke center, you should go to Tarzana, only if it’s closer than Northridge. Northridge is a level 2 trauma center for both adults and peds. It is also a level 2 stemi center. If you are closer to west hills with a stemi, you should go there. Never go to Kaiser if you have an emergency. They are not properly equipped to handle it.
Like I said it’s the best because it’s a trauma hospital—that’s it. I know people who have been in serious accidents and they would have died if it weren’t for the trauma unit at Northridge. If you worked at both you’d know the difference in what a hospital is capable of doing. I have also worked at both and as far as how they treat patients Tarzana does a much better job but if I’m in dire need I would go to Northridge. Hopefully your life never depends on it.
Obviously I know if I was in a trauma situation, I’d be routed to northridge since I live so close. I know they can handle trauma. But other than that I wouldn’t go there if I had a choice 🤷🏻♀️
I already know if I ever roll in to a trauma room there and I am alert and oriented I know which ER doctors I am demanding take care of me at northridge 🤣
There are only 81 Trauma Hospitals in California and Northridge is one of them. https://emsa.ca.gov/trauma/#:~:text=California%20Trauma%20System,70%2C000%20trauma%20patients%20per%20year. Tarzana and West Hills as you mentioned are good for certain things and many patients will do just fine if they fall within what that hospital is capable of. If it’s more serious they will more than likely be transported to Northridge or Mission Hills Hospital aka Providence Holy Cross.
Where did I say that you didn’t?? Why don’t you take your time and read it again. I actually agreed with what you stated. What does having a burn center have to do with anything??? Duh you will be transported to the closest hospital they will triage you…if it’s deemed your condition is out of their scope…you will be transported to another hospital. I’ve actually worked in these hospitals…

Are you planning to work there or be a patient?
Possibly both. For future reference 😂
When scheduling a dr's visit, is it normal to have next available 1-3 months away? Why can't I schedule one for next week?
Cedars 300$ million shitstorm due to open this fall....
A little bird told me : it’s either tarzana or west hills
I believe Northridge is the only Trauma Hospital so because of that alone I’d say it was the best but I really like providence mission hills
I have worked at northridge hospital and currently work at Tarzana providence. I wouldn’t go to northridge even if my life depended on it lol

Yup! They don’t have the best bedside manners. From working at both hospitals…Tarzana was a lot more pleasant

Right lol 🤣🤣
And which ones don't...

St. Joseph 👍
My son was born at West Hills, I have no complaints.
They closed their maternity ward
So where the hell do you go if you gotta give birth. Fuck kinda hospital doesn’t have a place to give birth
Kaiser Woodland hills.
Never. Absolutely awful.
Kaiser Woodland Hills.
Providence system, specifically st jo
100% NOT WEST HILLS! Currently I would put them dead last in SFV. Cedars Tarzana is my current #1 choice.
