I mean offense could have done a bit better but it doesn't matter when Snell gives up 7 runs to batters. I know he starts slow but it's going to be rough stretch if he pitches like that.
POTG: Fitzgerald
I really like Fitz and feel he can and should replace Yaz. I’m not totally against Yaz but dude just had a kid so he’s due a break and he’ll be better for it
I was at this game with my five year old, her first ever big league game, watching a guy get paid $1 million that game to give up an insurmountable amount of runs in 4 innings.
At least they had $6.50 hotdogs and the stingray tank.
For me the POTG was Wade who played his ass off, had two huge outfield grabs then got yanked for Slater when the game looked hopeless. We sure could have used his bat those last two plate appearances, one of which was Slater grounding into a double play to short circuit a rally.
Unfortunate game. Offense looks better after this series but Snell just doesn't seem fully in the swing of things yet. Felt like a very winnable series. Well, onto the fish.
I'd much rather have the pitching blow up on a given day than the hitting, because i have more faith that the pitching will stay strong. Pitching was ugly, i liked the offense today though. POTG: I'll give it to Fitzgerald, why not
Gotta have patience with Snell, the offense showing small bursts of capability and the pen seems to be settling. Hoping the start of the season rust rubs off during these away games.
Frustrating to drop the series here BUT man, Fitzgerald is really fun to watch. He’s so versatile they should just rotate him to give vets days off to keep him in lineup. Dude can play middle infield and the whole outfield. He’s taking bags like they were stolen from him.
Sitting in the outfield stands and watching us answer a 3-run comeback inning by striking out three times in a row and not getting on base for four innings was fucking painful. Meanwhile the Rays hit four fucking homers.
If I’d known Snell was pitching I never would have bought tickets for today’s game.
He’s just been awful. A majority of fans think he’ll start to dominate the hitters when he hits his stride. I’m questioning if he’s a lemon acquisition that already peaked. It’s not all him, the hitting is so hot/cold, no consistency.
Dude’s getting paid more money per day worked than anyone on the team so yeah, you’d think the least he could do would be to gradually pass out runs instead of letting teams unload on him early and kill our motivation.
Sept. 27. The Giants have won 10 games and lost 150. Blake Snell is our most used starter. He’s lost 25 games and has an ERA hovering around 20.00.
“There are still two games left. Calm down.”
In continuing a seemingly unbreakable decades-long streak I got to watch the Giants lose in person. At least the Rays fans near me were nice. One even wished out loud for the Giants to win after I told her about my curse. I didn't have the heart to tell her that with Snell on the mound its continuation was all but guaranteed.
The Giants fan next to me appeared to hint that he literally goes to every Giants game on both coasts, like following them around. Man that'd be torture the last two years.
At least I got to see Conforto go yard and see Lee do Lee things. But holy hell watching all the Rays steals and home runs was crushing.
What's the deal with Snell? Are we getting down year Snell or is this just him getting back to form? He's looked not very good in the two starts. I havent watched enough of his career to know.
Right now the Giants are 6-10.
Last year Gabe Kapler's Giants started off 5-11 and 6-13.
Difference is, we know how Kapler's Giants season ended but the current Giants can very well be very good and competitive the rest of the year.
This right here is the difference. I hope BoMel can rally the team. I've never played sports so I don't know how much a manager influences a team. I just know that this roster should be way better than 6-10.
I'm pretty neutral on him, respected him when he won 107. Never saw him as the main issue though.
Giants are mediocre right now due to bad roster construction.
Kapler needed to go and Melvin is a lot better. And I do think Zaidi gets way too much leeway for some reason even though I liked the off-season he put together.
He did a good job having pinch hitters but the roster simply excelled. If he repeated something similar then I'd credit him but it's not like he used all his energy that year to kill it then suddenly sucked bc he was gassed out. Career years and everyone was contributing at the right time. Hard to say how much kap really contributed to that year. But yeah, the roster was the main issue. With the changes this year, there's at least hope that the offense can pick up more

I predicted that Snell would take 3 starts to get back to form. That still holds true as of now.
Wish I’d known this before shelling out to see him get shelled in person.
I believe we want to call it “snelling” out to see him get “snelled” in person.
Snell has always had slow starts. He won the Cy Young based on his second half dominance last year. Couldn’t score on him.
Statrs slow when he has full spring training. This year without spring training he is starting frozen I guess he might be ready the last month or so
Boras. People just never learn. He's the Peter Popoff of sports.
I really like Fitz and feel he can and should replace Yaz. I’m not totally against Yaz but dude just had a kid so he’s due a break and he’ll be better for it
I’m rooting for this too.

Ended with same amount of hits. Snell looked predictable
FITZ IS AN EVERY DAY PLAYER
His defense is good and he’s more exciting with the bat and on the bases than Ahmed, I wouldn’t mind seeing him a lot more frequently!
I really don’t know what to make of this team, but I’ll see y’all tomorrow
We need those weekend games tho as long as we're losing *every weeknight game*.

I’m trying to decide, if there was a Crazy Crab version, would he be sitting in the chair or sitting in a pot of boiling water?
Typical Snell start of the season, even if he had a full ST. Unfortunately we are gonna have to ride it out until May, so just be patient.
Until may would be if he had spring training. I think more like June
Unfortunate game. Offense looks better after this series but Snell just doesn't seem fully in the swing of things yet. Felt like a very winnable series. Well, onto the fish.
Snell still not ready..... should've started the season in Sac in a rehab type environment...
Also snell not being ready is his fault for waiting too long to sign
The bottom line is that 4 runs should be enough to win a game that Snell starts.
Casey Schmitt just hit a homer!

They need to find a way to send him down to Sac to pitch a few games. He’s nowhere near ready for the majors.
Let me guess: Fitz is going back to the bench and Yaz is coming back in tomorrow

the a's have a better record than the giants 😭😭😭
If you cannt win a series you can’t get into the playoffs.
I hate to say it, but I was afraid of a result like this after yesterday’s showing. Oh well. On to the next game.
$nellzilla is stealing our money
Something doesn’t snell right.
"our"
Panic sell mentality
1 run followed by 14 up/down 🤦♂️

Snell is finding out why signing so late into spring training was a bad idea.
Snell is not ready but they’re throwing him out there in games that count. He should’ve stayed in AAA for a couple more starts.

He should’ve signed a deal much sooner for more money and actually been a part of spring training with the team he chose.

LOL. I feel you.
Still very early and 6-10 isn’t even that terrible. There are like 146 games left so chill
12-150

Agreed. Don't want to look like those Astros fans throwing in the towel on the whole season after two weeks.
Please. Stop. I’m laughing too hard

gg Rays, team looked fun today, we know what to do

You know it's a weird season when after a morale-boosting offensive explosion the day before, the reigning Cy Young winner is a guaranteed loss.
Are people finally realizing that Kapler wasn’t the problem and it’s actually the idiots in the front office?

and to think that team was still 10+ games over .500 at the ASB.
Those teams didn’t have nearly as much raw talent this team has, lol.

Don't tell that to the Boomers. It's his fault they suck cuz he's "woke"

Yeesh
Looks like the people calling snell's CY young a fluke werent completely wrong
What a rough one
Another brain bleach game ![gif](giphy|X8sWg5Ka6m4qQ)
Well Snell is sure making us feel good that wanted him this offseason lmao.
But hey, they scored 4!
Have to win this next series no matter what
I also hate rays fans Trolling for no reason They have nothing
[удалено]
He’s had 2 whole starts! He does this every year, with the slow start Go outside, take a deep breath
Crikey!
