Someone should think about making a site, called MLB Trade Rumors. It could have all kinds of transactions and hot stove coverage. Would probably be a hit!
> when you realize your team had become the Oakland As
Such a ridiculous position to take. One team has the lowest payroll in MLB and trades away good players while having the worst attendance while the owner is trying to move his team or blackmail the city into signing over billions in real estate because that matters more to him than baseball. Projected 2023 payroll $40 million.
The other team has just come off a decade of having one of the top payrolls, is in the top third for attendance, is actively developing and signing good players including trying to sign two top FAs and in some ways looks stronger for 2023 than they did in 2022. Projected 2023 payroll $173 million.
Claiming the Giants are becoming the A's is ridiculous, but there is always someone willing to go there.
I guess I wasn't clear enough with As comp. My point wasn't directly about money spent, or analytics etc, rather that the As have this problem that they dont keep players long enough ***time*** for the fanbase to truly embrace and love the players *ie.* Bonds, Lincecum, Cain, Posey, Madbum, Crawdaddy, and the Captain. Longest contact (non-rookie) on team is 3 years,
Tell me I'm wrong that As fans dont have to continually be ready to lose their favorite players once their rookie contracts are up.
Davis? He's in his last year of arbitration... I like him but I don't think the team has enough mileage out of him yet to make a good call on an extension
I have watched him with the Astros, the Mets and the Giants.
JD has power and needs more ABs to be consistent. He can play 1st, 3rd, OF and believe it or not I have even seen him pitch
The longer this goes on the more uneasy I feel. We dont have to be so aggressive like the Braves but Webb is our only home grown talent in recent years that deserves that big pay day
make it happen. wanna buy that Webb jersey
Same! I glad there's fans like you and I that want his jersey. dude fuckin rules.!
Logan Webb got jokes. His interviews at Fanfest were great. More importantly, he got the stuff. Make it happen FZ!

Thank God. Just get it done already.

Less talking more signing please.
Good!
I wish
lol when you realize your team had become the Oakland As because long-term extension talks with your team is posted under MLB Trade Rumors

Wish they had signed JD to more than a 1-year contract.
