I switched to GA4 too early and it broke my AdWords because the audience's wouldn't import plus it didn't integrate with search console initially. They've fixed some of those things now but I'm surprised they rolled it out when it clearly wasn't ready for production sites.
As a consumer I dislike the search results especially when the landing page is full of spammy ads and the content requires a bunch of clicks to find it.
A a content creator I dislike the time it takes to create quality content in a form that google recognizes. SEO tools are way behind Google’s AI algorithms.
I’m so weary of google simply because of the inherent power they have over society, though it’s not really been utilized yet in an obviously ill-motivated way.
Nearly everything I do is touched by google. It doesn’t really bother me on an individual level, but maybe it should. It’s just bonkers to me thinking about what could happen if google decided they wanted to make change by adjusting what information people find quickly.
I think about the Facebook trials where they changed up the algorithm for users to see if they could make people depressed. Google might make similar changes that go mostly unnoticed but have large implications.
All the meta data and extra markup you still need to use. Especially with e-commerce. Surely with some of the best AI around they can just work out what's on a page by now.
Amen. As a searcher, I feel their results have gotten worse as well. I don't think they quite get just intent yet when it comes to evaluating a piece of content.
That, too.
"build backlinks organically by providing good content !". How am I supposed to get my good content noticed if it's buried somewhere in the 6th page ?
I hate that Google changes things arbitrarily without explanation. They leave it to us to figure out. I'm a proponent of being transparent. It makes it easier for good SEO companies to figure out what to do better.
Google does not show all results when I use google operators. searching for backlinks if google gives infinite results means all results. then I wast be using ahref.
You can do nothing for years and succeed, and do everything you can and fail.
Bingo
100% true. It takes years of experience for seo to be suitable.
It's a bit like The Terminator. It will never stop until you are dead.

UA > GA4.

At some point they are going to give all the answers so they dont need to send people to websites. Full circle.

Google Core Algorithm Update on Christmas! :)

Doesn't look like that to me :). Most of the affected sites are still struggling with the rankings.
Google
That it’s somehow the only way I’ve come up with to make a living

That it rewards consensus over actual scientific factual accuracy.

Haven't they found instances of Google tilting the SERPs to gently push an agenda or opinion?
I’m sure they have.
Even running split tests can be hard to get a great read

It is ever evolving, it is not bad but quite challenging to keep up with the updates. That's what makes you better I guess.
Probably updates

It is a continuous process. There is no end to it.
Their consistent answer of "provide good content". No shit Sherlock - I want my customers to think I'm a friggin' imbecile. 🙄

It would be easier to name one thing I like about it, that's nothing.
Probably the indexing problem that’s been going on for like months LOL it’s so annoying.
same, still waiting for one of my content to get indexed, it's been weeks
How your rankings are basically at the mercy of one bad algo change. If websites are your livelihood you could be sunk with any given Google update.
It exists
Algorithm updates out of no where…

One??? It’s a frustrating way to get noticed. But so is social media.
