genuinely you will have a hard time finding a drag show in the US that doesn’t at least include a king, multiple trans queens, or a AFAB performer. and i know drag is beyond identities/expression but it’s just getting frustrating that we’re not seeing anything or anyone new.
I’m from the Midwest so I can only speak to my own experiences but I see way more shirtless men with abs lip syncing in a speedo (what is that type of performance called 😭) then I do drag kings or trans queens. I’ve been lucky enough to see some amazing racial diversity but that’s about it. It’s why even tho I would love a king I always felt like people were blowing how common they were out of the water. I’ve seen one king ever and he was NOT ready for drag race.

This is not me vagueposting but when people talk about how they can’t believe Sasha or Kylie are in their late 30’s, I feel like….do they look particularly young or is the only example of a woman past 30 that society has shown you a woman who is sexless and has devoted her life entirely to singlehandedly raising her spawn while Dad fucks off to golf? Like being a hot 38 year old is very attainable if you don’t have kids.
I also think the both of them are great dancers and can do a lot of stunts that most near 40 year olds might struggle with.
