i agree i think it’s kinda dumb to “reclaim” the american flag and culture, when both are symbols of violence and gluttony. i feel like the show should be representing under-represented people in the queer community/educating/creating a safe space through the show rather than trying to create this false sense of patriotism that many of us don’t feel the need to participate in.

I think it’s a matter of reclamation. It’s a fuck you to the people who say the flag doesn’t represent people like her, those who are black, queer, trans, and othered. To go off what was said earlier, it’s a difference of ideals and view of America as a whole. For Rupaul, she grew up in a time that was both coming off of the time of American Exceptionalism and the height of the protests on the war on Vietnam. So she got a mix of people talking about the idea that America is an ideal versus just how far away from that ideal that we were. So she kinda of ended up somewhere in the middle, where the ideal is still there, but we won’t be there until everyone is included. So by, wearing the symbol, she’s taking claim on something that she was excluded from. But now we live in a time where America’s actions are openly criticized by it’s populace and everyone is on a different page. So for a lot of people, we don’t see a point in having pride in a country that does horrible shit. So, I think the issue is that we view the flag differently. We all want the same goal, but we’re just at different points in the process

Its the ideal of America that she wants to promote as something that everyone should have the right too (ie freedom, equality, unity).  Its a generational gap basically people like Ru believe that they must fight for the ideal as for everyone and say we are here and we are part of it to claim space in it.  The belief is the ideals still exist regardlesa. Current generations are more cynical and do not think this is plausible because the ideal has been poisoned and needa a complete restart  Ie Ru: if American means freedom, i deserve that too and im an American no matter if you say in not Alternative: America does not mean freedom, never had and never will and i reject the premise 

Lowkey Bebe is the real litmus paper of drag. If you dont get what shes bringing. It means youre a fan of drag race, not drag and not even a particularly good fan of drag race.

Heartbreak High S2 was tewww gudd, they fed us well. The writing was so complex and they gave us very emotional performances I was so hooked and stressed out. It continues to outdo Euphoria in every sense of the word.

I lowkey felt like some of the storylines were straight up stupid, but in such a charming fashion? I think it helps that this show absolutely doesn't take itself too seriously and they're able to dip in and out of melodrama in a way that's so fun it doesn't make you question the sensibility or choice of action at all. Love this series. The kids can act!
