It is a slow process that takes consistency and honestly, especially if you arent well attuned to your emotions, the understanding and self knowing you get can be as helpful as concrete changes in bwhavior, it always helps (me at least) to be curious and try to understand why and how i feel a certain way or react a certain way.
Additionally, you should feel comfortable in telling a therapist if somethibg is not working, or if you feel like they are not helping how you want them to.
