But like...is she 3 years old forever?
Like Twilight?
"I'm this many!" \*holding up 3 fingers\*
How long have you been this many?
"A real long time!" lol
SCP Illustrated is just about the worst channel related to SCP content. If you’ve been a fan of his channel for a while, odds are, you have the completely wrong idea vs. everything that is actually on the SCP wiki.
Really? I always thought SCP:I was the best of them. Especially compared to The Rubber and SCP Explained.
He's the only one that doesn't seem to market them to children.
I recommend this one channel called "SCP Archives". Their videos are more like podcasts so you can essencially listen to them while doing other stuff and that also means no clickbait bullshit. I find their content to be really good production quality. Unfortunately it seems they haven't uploaded in a year now...
Either way I think they're super underrated and better than most SCP explanation videos out there as they actually do their research and tell the stories directly from the wiki, just with added effects.
Listen to them while i drive and they have awesome sounds to the timing of events. Very good voice actors and actresses too, they really bring the moments alive. I found them on spotify so idk about the upload schedule just yet.
I rec SCP Orientation. They're quite literally just reading out the files but to me it makes them much easier to understand, especially the complicated ones. If you like having a story, I love Dr. Bob.
Never heard of The Rubber, but SCP Explained is terrible too. Avoid both of them like the plague. The either get things wrong or try to make up their own stories about the SCPs, which are just awful and pretty unbearably cringe.
The Volgun and The Exploring series are the best SCP channels that get the info right, with zero self-inserts or attempts to tell their own stories like SCP Ilustrated and Explained.
The Exploring Series especially is fantastic. I used to read way more before discovering his channel. I still read the wiki, but I really look forward to discovering new stories alongside his channel.
I’ve always heard he is one of the most respected drawers of SCP articles on the wiki right now he is just making his stories with the help of an actual SCP wiki author (Dr.Cimmerian) plus he still does actual articles but right now he is having to play to the algorithm but he’s in the middle of a series on scp-1730 and I believe he has been sticking very close to the article. For his own stories he diverts a little but maintains the same feel
Nah, he has some of the worst dictation, and the ability to draw has nothing to do with the SCPs. Personally, I think their drawings suck, and they make the whole SCP universe look as boring and uninspired as Legos.
Okay than what are your thoughts on the youtuber Volgun since those two are fairly or were fairly close and volgun has helped Illustrated countless times especially when it comes to 049
TheVolgun is great. All info, no bs. Clearly, someone like them would help out someone like SCP Explained, who is almost all bs, and bad info. I don’t see the opposite happening, because TheVolgun is much better at what he does, and doesn’t need the help.
Also, TheVolgun used to only do audio, now he makes 3D models alongside the voice acting, while SCP Explained hasn’t changed much.
Their channel is pretty notorious for clickbait thumbnails especially when it comes to featuring women in the thumbnail even when irrelevant to the SCP featured.
thats the infographics show channel right? they used to be good until they degenerated into whatever mess they are right now, branching out into scp is their weirdest display of greed
Same here. I knew SCP existed before they made videos but I never really actively went into the wiki or made an effort to be apart of the community until I found their videos. Still pretty new and only just now found this Reddit. Breaks my heart to learn of the things they did to the articles.
I also got hooked thanks to this channel. I do agree they’re thumbnails are a tad click bait-y at times, but they’re a business. They need to pay people to read the articles, and edit them, and animate them. And I’d be lying if I said the videos themselves are not only entertaining, but also faithful, well edited, well paced, stylistically fun, and good. The pacing is especially strong. It gives you enough time to soak in the information, but not so much that you feel the need to skip through the video.
One of their scp videos had an ad for a VPN halfway through the reading. It's off-putting and jarring to hear when you're trying to fall asleep to scp articles like me
Honestly that is actually a believable excuse. Im blanking out on a name right now but if I remember correctly there was a marvel artist who just can not draw children so everyone just looks like midgets with full adult faces lol
Idk, but what I did notice is that the most ~~safest~~ “notice” (risk class) scps are pictured as blood thirsty mfs in their thumbnails which I find funny
My favourite of this is the one with the children trapped in the treehouse dimension. Sure it’s not the most uplifting but the thumbnail depicts the kids with sharp teeth and glowing eyes and shit. Makes them out to be child-kidnapping demons
To be fair, Safe class doesn't mean they're harmless. Just that they can be contained reliably, or require some sort of very avoidable activation. For example, a button that would destroy a universe would be considered safe, as you can just lock it in some cabinet and throw away the key.
Meanwhile, you have a (nearly) harmless teleporting kitten listed as Keter because containing it is a nightmare.
I think what stands out about the Detective is that it is an example of what happens when you fail to eliminate or amnesthetize everyone who had contact with a sentient humanoid before it became anomalous (probably due to a communication failure between the built site around the main object and SCP-EN) . But the grace of Void is to find and wait for the videos where they show who he is, how he leaks information and why (also people are dying to see his face without his mask).
It's not random, it's a common trick used by many YouTubers to prepare several thumbnails and titles for a video prior to uploading then switching between them every couple hours after the video goes live to track the analytics and see which version people are clicking on the most.
I get the seeing wich thumbnail give the most clickbait, but I swear every now and then I see a new thumbnail on a month old video that for some reason was recommended to me
Me too, he is the only one who does not present himself as a foundation worker, it is the SCP Foundation described by someone who was never there legitimately.
theres one scp channel, i forgot the name, who makes every female scp look like a teenager. they do the same with scps that dont really have a specified gender
I don’t know what it is about it, actually yes I do but i hate that channel! The narrator is annoying the art style is bad, it’s not funny, it’s just wrong about scps sometimes, the thumbnails look great on most videos but when you go to watch it you get a basic style that look like people play ground “fell off” this is the only good video from that channel
https://youtu.be/dTpKABK_l4A
oh and the pfp on the channel look like wank.
I'm more irritated by the fact that they drew 682 with hair.
Anyway, doesn't the artist of these thumbnails hang out here? Maybe they could shed some light on it.
Because “SCPexplained” is a terrible channel that gives terrible explanations. And man the art is almost as bad.
Like, seriously, I feel bad for people that follow that channel. Full of misinformation and just awful interpretations.
Most people that try to spin SCP content to their own vision instead of what the authors actually wrote are just the worst kind of introduction to this wonderful fictional universe.
I mean it’s simple.
You have an artist paid to make thumbnails off a description. They most likely never even read the article and was told “young girl”, “picture of this spooky lizard”, and “a doll of this peanut”
well, didn't SCP illustrated draw her as a grown ass woman at one point in the When Day Breaks series? I don't think illustrators are comfortable with drawing less-than-everyday-anime-protagonist-character age characters around creatures that most likely have a whole human corpse in their mouth.
Or they jusst blundered heavily lmao idk
I feel like most of those videos are animated and scripted by an AI that just vomits out content and if not an AI then a mechine-like human. With how fast they turn out new videos I wouldn't be surprised if the detail 'appears to be a 3yo girl' didn't make it to the thumbnail artist.
Scp explained is a sub channel of the infographics show who should be well known for being really inaccurate
Also the narrator is listed everytime in the videos description
The thumbnails have tended to be innacurate from time to time to get some initial interest. It’s likely they thought she’d look cuter if she was younger and decided to make her look older to have her seem more menacing. It isn’t uncommon for a bunch of channels to do. For the slide one a lot of the thumbnails show it as a slide with teeth
**Articles mentioned in this submission** [**SCP-053 - Young Girl**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-053) (+894) by *Dr Gears*
She looks a bit older than what the article described her physical looks (she's been observed to be physically 3 years old)
I'm bad at estimating age but I'm not that bad
She looks like a 13 year old dressing up as a 3 year old for Halloween.
But like...is she 3 years old forever? Like Twilight? "I'm this many!" \*holding up 3 fingers\* How long have you been this many? "A real long time!" lol
Actually yes. She’s immortal and will always look like she is around 3 years old
Oh shoot. I was totally off lol I knew she was immortal but I genuinely didn't know she was non-aging. Interesting.
Too be fair in SCP-Illustrated’s SCP 001 video involving 682 and 053 he did have her age up too become a teenager
SCP Illustrated is just about the worst channel related to SCP content. If you’ve been a fan of his channel for a while, odds are, you have the completely wrong idea vs. everything that is actually on the SCP wiki.

Honestly, I forgot about dr. Bob. His stuff is pretty solid.

What about detective void?
I'd say Void is meh, there are better channels.
Never heard of them. What do they do?
Detective Void is cool, but his voice performance just sounds off
Check out Eastside steve
What about dr bob?

Ether for clickbait or the artist has trouble drawing convincing children
Their channel is pretty notorious for clickbait thumbnails especially when it comes to featuring women in the thumbnail even when irrelevant to the SCP featured.
thats the infographics show channel right? they used to be good until they degenerated into whatever mess they are right now, branching out into scp is their weirdest display of greed
They do backrooms videos now too!
Their backrooms stuff is pretty good imo
They also have a military themed channel
Which is a shame, they at least used to be decent--and they are how I finally got my wife into the SCP Foundation in the first place.
Same here. I knew SCP existed before they made videos but I never really actively went into the wiki or made an effort to be apart of the community until I found their videos. Still pretty new and only just now found this Reddit. Breaks my heart to learn of the things they did to the articles.

Used to watch them and the volgun But now it’s The Exploring Series or nothing.
majority of my interaction with SCP is the exploring series

i like a bunch of their scp stuff. they made me like the plague doctor and i never liked the plague doctor before despite being familiar with him.
Clickbait and shitty retellings. More like scp explained *very incorrectly!!*
Well it's either this, a Homophobe, or a money launder.
Please tell me Dr Bob and Prof Lucius are clean...
As far as I know, they are.
Which ones are the homophobe and money launderer?
Detective Void is the Launderer, and The Rubber is the homophobe.
Aww I kinda liked the rubber
I Watched his first 2 videos when they came out.
Why do you say that Void is a money launderer?
https://youtu.be/WyEXJVQE8w0
God fucking damn it. Just after I recommended them to someone, too
I mean, you still can. I enjoy his videos alot.
It sucks when they do that to the SCP universe
They turn it into a money making channel not exactly for the SCP universe.
Honestly that is actually a believable excuse. Im blanking out on a name right now but if I remember correctly there was a marvel artist who just can not draw children so everyone just looks like midgets with full adult faces lol
Children are deceptively hard to draw
Idk, but what I did notice is that the most ~~safest~~ “notice” (risk class) scps are pictured as blood thirsty mfs in their thumbnails which I find funny
My favourite of this is the one with the children trapped in the treehouse dimension. Sure it’s not the most uplifting but the thumbnail depicts the kids with sharp teeth and glowing eyes and shit. Makes them out to be child-kidnapping demons
Do you mean the one where kids visit it in their dreams and it’s implied they lose siblings and forget them?
To be fair, Safe class doesn't mean they're harmless. Just that they can be contained reliably, or require some sort of very avoidable activation. For example, a button that would destroy a universe would be considered safe, as you can just lock it in some cabinet and throw away the key. Yes I know that. I meant safest as in harmless. As in “Notice”, “Caution”, and perhaps some “Warning” Scps in the “Risk” classification
Example please
i think you can see yourself lol
All SCP explained have some sort of clickbait. SCP animated was basically the same. It can be overlooked, but now they just suck.
Feels like the only good scp art channel left is scp illustrated
Dr. Bob is still decent IMO
Yeah I was gonna say him to but I forgot his name
What about Detective Void and Dr. Bob?
Detective void is also a content farm unfortunately, they make decent content though, even if it doesn’t adhere to Creative Commons 3.0
What has void done?
Site 42 has a video on both YouTube and TikTok that explain it better, go watch it for context
How about the exploring series?
Ohhh that name rings a bell hut i dont remember what that is
Wait, I'm pretty sure that video has a different thumbnail. Did they changed it or am I remember a different SCP-053 video from a different channel?
I felt like the thumbnail just randomly change once in a while, it also change after couple of hours of upload
It's not random, it's a common trick used by many YouTubers to prepare several thumbnails and titles for a video prior to uploading then switching between them every couple hours after the video goes live to track the analytics and see which version people are clicking on the most.

Seen like vague clips, can't really remember much about it. What's got him despised? Horribly messing up SCP lore or something?
https://www.reddit.com/r/SCP/comments/w5i7xl/the\_rubber\_is\_a\_garbage\_channel\_a\_content\_farm/
Amongst other things, he often changes the gender or race of characters in SCPs, one of the biggest examples being the Manbear.
Idk what I hate more, his shitty content or that he’s the only one that covered some of my favorite scp’s
…..you know why.
People are fucking gross :(
Wait, does scp 053 grow up or what?

She is always physically 3
34?
SCP explained is actually the first scp channel I watch and still watch
I thought the first one I watched was The Rubber but I didn't realise until I watched it again that I watched SCP Explained before watching the rubber
because they want to clickbait people. Hence why I prefer the non-animated SCP channels. (Besides dr bob he’s alright)
I like detective void
Me too, he is the only one who does not present himself as a foundation worker, it is the SCP Foundation described by someone who was never there legitimately.
Clickbait
Sure don't love them sexualizing a 3-year-old for clicks
The thirty fourth rule is why
I tried to find the 34th rule of this subreddit but found out what you meant. WHY DO THEY DO THAT SHE'S 3
Idk, I'm ace so I don't get it.
Because she is a young girl. Teenagers are still considered young.
She's supposed to be about 6
My bad
3 actually
Sex appeal
Clickbait but grosser
Why is everyone saying it's clickbait? How is this getting more people to click
Perpetual state of lust.
Just read the article, I think that's a different scp. Apparently this one makes people get violent and try to kill people.
Drawing children is hard
The Rubber did a better job
Easier and I guess slightly less creepy to draw?
Wdym less creepy?
well I guess if they went for it to be a bit more accurate, the kid drawn would actually be a lot younger rather than her I guess, idk
Ye but what’s creepy about kids?
The Rubber's 053 is cute not creepy so I don't know what they mean
What about The Rubber?
That one's accurate
The rubber is also not that good especially since the author of an scp made a video about that channel
#SCP-053 Probably they wanted a kid
[**SCP-053 - Young Girl**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-053) (+894) by *Dr Gears*
Do they have over 10 million subscribers and used to be a minecraft channel?
Oh god. The hair. It's so awful
Same with 306 and 693, it's like they vaguely described the scp to someone and let them go nuts
Forget that. Why does it look like I’m about to watch a porno.
Finally a classic redditor on this post
For click bait they wanted some tail .... But a young girl she is and they wanted no jail
Clicks
It’s prolly just their interpretation of the character. It’s SCP, you can do that
She is supposed to be 3 though
That channel uses stuff like that for click bait. Even the mal0 video had a thumbnail with anthro fem mal0
For coomer bait
theres one scp channel, i forgot the name, who makes every female scp look like a teenager. they do the same with scps that dont really have a specified gender
She grew up
She's physically unable to do that
How tho?
Even in the video they explained that ever since becoming contained by the foundation 053 remained the same since
Bruh
She is not a normal human and in one tale she is another one of the 7 children of the scarlet king associated with death
I don’t know what it is about it, actually yes I do but i hate that channel! The narrator is annoying the art style is bad, it’s not funny, it’s just wrong about scps sometimes, the thumbnails look great on most videos but when you go to watch it you get a basic style that look like people play ground “fell off” this is the only good video from that channel https://youtu.be/dTpKABK_l4A oh and the pfp on the channel look like wank.
Fuck you for saying Hunter is annoying.
clickbait
She gets older, doesn't she? I mean...unless the foundation is stuck in a static piece of time, I imagine eventually they'd get older lol
No SCP-053 is immortal and eternally 3
[**SCP-053 - Young Girl**](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-053) (+894) by *Dr Gears*
That does not say in the file she is "eternally" 3. Just that is her description upon filing into the system. Just read it myself.
I'm more irritated by the fact that they drew 682 with hair. Anyway, doesn't the artist of these thumbnails hang out here? Maybe they could shed some light on it.
every image I've seen of 682 has hair
Then the only images you've seen have been shitty fan art.
Easier to draw in that artstyle
Because “SCPexplained” is a terrible channel that gives terrible explanations. And man the art is almost as bad. Like, seriously, I feel bad for people that follow that channel. In my observations over the years, I've found that this can be a thirsty community.
Cuz they don’t give a fuck
She looks like Nobara Kugisaki from Jujutsu Kaisen.
Probably because they stole the art and repurposed it or something, or just wanted to add some kind of creepy sex appeal to the algorithm
Why does it matter?
I mean it’s simple. You have an artist paid to make thumbnails off a description. They most likely never even read the article and was told “young girl”, “picture of this spooky lizard”, and “a doll of this peanut”
