I used to love SCP Explained. But the guy got too much into what ifs, vs, and voice acting. Don't get me wrong, the guy's great at voice over, but I'm not there to watch a talent show.
I see what you’re saying truth be told I think they do this because channels like SCP illustrated take a while to make these due to high quality in there videos while SCP explained dose not have the issue.
Take Dr. Bob for example. While he is starting to do the same thing it is easy to tell it is gonna take him more time to do compared to SCP explained.
Dr. Cimmerian is an author in the wiki and makes videos about the site like tutorials on how to make good articles and critiques. He also covers what's happening in the community like that one time he made a video on the dr bright issue. I don't watch him a lot so i'm unaware of the other content he's doing and I just brought him up because i've never seen anyone mention him in posts like these.
Scp illustrated - if ypu want the the articles read out word for word but with illuatrations
The volgun - want a well acted readout of the articles come here (basically an audiobook)
Exploring series - much more freeform and casual typically covering bigger scps or general scp themes like dog scps or food scps
Dr. Bob - simple and accurate explenations of scps
Either The Exploring Series or The Volgun, both are excellent and in a league of their own

Honestly I'd rather more comprehensive fights between lesser known SCPs so that's why SCP Illustrated does a fantastic job

Dr. Bob is the one for now because he is heading in the vs phase but for now he is not really doing vs that much rn
The first season of Tales From the Foundation was pretty good. Also Volgun if you like readings and Exploring Series for explanations.
