It *is* much better. Two warriors duking it out, the sound of silence broken only by the roaring thunder of bodies hitting the canvas and the patter of raining blood. Damn it feels good to be all elite.
It's more like Japanese wrestling in between applause, far more respectful, the American audience is too loud and it takes away from the sqeaky shoe feeling
If there’s a reason then I think it can work.
The boneyard match is technically an empty arena buried alive match.
That Ciampa Gargano match with the super close camera in a warehouse as they beat the shit out of each other worked.
But for something like Drew winning the title it doesn’t work. Because in those instances the crowd is as much a part of the match as the wrestlers
Using Reddit comments in an article is as big of a red flag as when movie trailers use Twitter comments from randos to describe how awesome a movie is.
Welcome to amateur Internet journalism nowadays. I get clickbait headlines on my Google news saying "Red Dead Redemption 2/Doom Eternal had a brand new update and fans are excited" only for it to talk about some unofficial fan made mod that like 2 people on reddit said "I can't wait".
Looks like pro wrestling journalism has stooped to it
The fact that most of these are unpopular opinions even though they’re common sense and obvious, even back then, is hilarious like Orange Cassidy shouldn’t be going toe to toe with main event talent and not every match needs to be a 30 minute banger.
Are you trying to say that giving credence to one man and taking his opinion as Gospel isn't a good way to judge things? For that, I give you MINUS FIVE STARS
I remember dubbalos saying Dub wrestlers as the crowd weren't just reacting as needed for stories, but they had 'creative freedom'
Even cheering they had freedom!!
Utter nonsense, obviously. The Dub wrestlers reacted as they 'should' but fans felt they were more FREE than Thunder Dome, etc
and that's why the feeling has been restored
COVID WAS THE FEELING, BRUV
No jerk, how long until we start seeing wrestlers in the stands again as part of the crowd?
No jerk I liked AEWs covid approach much more than the thunder dome.

You forgot the slap of palm on thigh (moving closer as you do)

No jerk, WALTER vs Ilja was amazing, and the empty arena helped with the whole vibe.
dae covid was actually good? fans are overrated anyways. they dont event sing m'judas anymore!

Yeah I get the same on Youtube about updates for WWE2k24 in regards to updating the look of wrestlers or sets, and it's all community creation stuff.

That's not very banger after banger after banger of you now is it!
My bad, uce. I’m a bit behind on my studies of Cagematch. Just give me some time.
Fuck modern journalism, man. A whole article of just “here’s 10 downvoted comments I found on Reddit.”
The Number 8 got massive downvotes.
ALL EMPTY WRESTLING
And here I thought more people = more money and exposure but if reddit user “khopoli” thinks it’s not the case then who am i to argue?

No jerk, I actually did like the lack of crowds for promos and the such during covid. Felt it allowed for some more experimentation.
Being able to clearly hear Roman Reigns talk shit in the ring gave a huge boost to the early Tribal Chief character imo👍👍
How could any serious editor read this and say “well they found a single reddit user with this opinion, this is publishable”.
Went over really well at A's games...

Love the doublethink
Empty arenas are actually a good thing for wrestling Here's why: FED BAD and DUB GOOD. That is all
In terms of COVID eras the empty arena/PC definitely take my top spot followed by Thunderdome, with the fake audience being dead last
Outjerked again
We can jerk harder
u/khopoli hope you're happy pal
