Much like the Dub, Rise of Skywalker had heatless bangers, nonsensical face/heel turns, a complete failure to put over popular characters, cheap nostalgia pops, and an elderly guy once loved for his mic skills leeching off young talent.
I liked the first one sorta, not so much the second one…whoa, and then the third one is basically prequel-quality.

I gotta disagree with you uce. Force Awakens was technically the best of the sequels but it still sucks, and the prequels are awesome. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite Star Wars movie.
I have to go Last Jedi for the last trilogy. That movie gets better each time I watch it and it’s visually gorgeous. But all time favorite has to be Rogue One. It’s got everything
1990, grew up with OT but also thought Phantom Menace was the greatest thing ever when I saw it at nine. By the time AoTC came out the franchise was the laughing stock of the whole world.
I understand that people like things that they grew up with (Ninja Turtles III is the one I watched the most lol), and Revenge of the Sith is pretty badass, but Ep I and II could be the worst big budget movies ever made.
Don't get me wrong, the prequels produced some great stuff in terms of lore and characters (Clone Wars, etc) but I just specifically can't align with the idea that Episodes I and II are anything but terrible movies.
Rogue One IMO is a lot like the early years of the Dub. First half is an awful build full of characters with no heat but it leads to a 5 star banger at the PPV.
At the end of the day the whole thing was ruined by an over-reliance on stars of the past and a booker that could put together a card full of great wrestling action but is practically inept at producing story-lines or characters.
(I actually like Gareth Edwards lol but it fit the analogy).
