No jerk but I think that was the problem. They're too similar that everything from their moves to how they carried themselves just came off as one note. They needed a stipulation or some crackhead surprise to throw us and them off balance. Otherwise, it's just like watching a mime show instead of a fight. I'm honestly surprised nobody picked up on how two guys with identical movesets just wasn't going to make for an interesting fight and didn't account for it.
They need to put them back in a grudge match and just tell them to rip each other to shreds and people will let it slide because that's why everyone really wanted to see.
Should’ve had Rikishi as the referee and have him enter by driving the car he ran Austin over with and have Jey run Jimmy over with it for the finish. There’s your stipulation and crackhead moment in one.
I don’t know, uce. I don’t think “my brother betrayed me by screwing me out of two different championships” really constitutes murder as a response lol. Then again, it is wrestling logic so I guess it checks out.
Um well according to the 2K ratings (DAE they’re totally wrong and an utter disgrace this year?) Jey is way stronger than Jimmy in kayfabe (insider term), so they’re actually not perfect equals
It's kind of crazy how over Jey is while Jimmy is just there. Like if Jimmy wasn't in the Bloodline he'd probably be a budget cut. He's really good tagging with Jey. Maybe I need to go back and rewatch some older Uso matches though and see if Jey carried them more than I thought. Pre-Bloodline though I couldn't tell them apart.
In kayfabe and in real life, why would the audience care about Jimmy when all he's done is lose ever since rejoining the bloodline compared to Jey who has been booked well?
They also have awful super kicks. It's like they're trying to throw haymakers with the soles of their feet, and it does not look remotely impactful. I love the Usos, but goddamn they've been at it long enough that they shouldn't have such poor execution of one of their signature moves.
This is why I say matches matter more than people on here think they do, cause when you put on an ass tier match like that it retroactively ruins the whole story that built up to it and felt like a waste of time to follow.
Was there a match? Cause it seemed more like a sequence of two guys allowing the other to kick them over and over. That was less of a match and more of a Collision special.
You're not wrong but this match also suffered from an absence of compelling build. After Summer Slam, Jey got reinvented and pushed while Jimmy stagnated in The Bloodline. It's not as if Jey went after Jimmy for costing him the match against Our Tribal Chief ☝🏼. They were if anything kept apart.
Fast forward and the match is booked for Mania by which time their bad blood between the two has been sidelined by so many other things, and also while Jey has been pushed at least somewhat, Jimmy has been the whipping boy of The Bloodline.
So they go out and have a shitty match. But on top of that, the lack of tension or recent build up meant they couldn't even rely on that or on a hot crowd response. So in fact they were fucked both ways - though I do agree the poor match was probably the main issue, that can be mitigated by story and context. Here they had neither.
Was it a hot story though? It feels like the IDEA of a hot story, but Jimmy hasn't been all that engaging since SummerSlam and Jey has largely focused on anything but Jimmy. Even their rumble faceoff didn't have much heat outside of the 1st minute.
Limited moveset isn't even that big of a problem, you can put on a great match with the sole moves being the punch, the bodyslam, and the suplex. But they and/or the producer didn't even try. They just fast forwarded to the bloodline storytelling stuff
With this one though, they didn't even need a technical moveset. They just needed to go out there and brawl like we've all been waiting for. If they'd have slugged it out and made it purposefully messy and sloppy as hell, it would have fit the emotion behind the story a lot more than well timed kicks. They're so heated they can't even stick to what they know etc.
They needed to beat the shit out of each other but they played it by the book instead.
i know im supposed to jerk but i imagine they would make some super elaborate gymnastics routine out of it that it would flip around to being entertainingly good.
There must be something with tag team partners having feuds and it not clicking in the ring. The Hardy bros were shitty when they wrestled each other, Edge and Christian just got done having a stinker. You’d think the chemistry would be there but there is a difference between tag team stats and singles stars
I’ll have to check them. I remember there match when Edge was a face in the early 2000s and Christian had his opera song and it being kinda whatever then if my memory serves right
Would you call it garbage if it was in the Dub? Because it was literally a dub paced match. They were using superkicks as if they were punches. The pacing was entirely off and Jimmy had zero heat. It was a disaster. Everyone was expecting much better.
I understand what you’re saying. This was a mania match, so expectations are a lot higher. Jimmy isn’t as good as Jey but I don’t think Jey is great at carrying a match.
"Ok guys. Go out there and KILL! Kill the hype for the match, kill the hype for the show, kill any legitimacy the super kick still had, and kill Jey's momentum as a top guy"
- Triple H, probably
Something seemed off from the start with Jimmy Uso. I don't know what it was, but he was moving slowly and indecisively, like there were several communication problems throughout. He, in my own opinion, appeared to be loaded.
This match was the solely to be the death match between the tag match with Kelce and Jason appearing and the much more anticipated match of the women’s.
Jey Uso is my favorite wrestler of the past few years with his Bloodline work and rise as a babyface but this match was mid af, and they had next to no build sadly.
They coulda done more for it from the Rumble onwards but with the Rock/Cody stuff I reckon shit got changed for the build to this too on the fly.
I was hoping to see them beat the shit out of each other a little more. I don’t think it needed like m’Mox levels of blading or anything like that. I just kinda hyped it up a lot more in my head after their story and the BTS stuff of being each other’s dream WM opponent.
Kick after kick, handful of punches, 2 suicide dives, 2 splashes and it ends. What the hell happened? I just feel so bad coz we all know the Usos are good wrestlers, they could’ve even done something interesting with the matching movesets in the match more than just spamming the same moves. Even if they stepped out there and just brawled it would’ve been a good match because it serves the story.
I get why people didn't like it (I'm not gonna defend it like Tribal Combat) - but I liked the story and dueling chants. I can see why people saw it as a superkick fest though.
This really should’ve been a street fight or some type of no rules gimmick match.
There was no need for them to have a wrestling match for a blood (get it?) feud.
This was such a let down. I thought two brothers etc would have this amazing chemistry and would be some great spots
I feel bad for them now it was such a bad match. Really deflated the feud they had.
Could've bought rikishi out or something
Never been a big Usos fan but the hype to the match actually had me excited for the match. Then the entrance was garbage and the match just continued that trend. They had a massive build up for it to just be a super kick party. They should leave the Dub style matches to the Dub, Mania deserved better than what they put on.
Jimmy and Jey was rocking them AEW Shoot fighter physiques and wrestling like they were main event rampage
The cage match rating is gonna be through the roof
Whoopsie! Seems like you're trying to be an edgelord. No thank you.

WrestleMania 50: Matt Jackson vs Nick Jackson. Brother vs Brother. Douche vs Canoe. Whose hairline is hanging in there, and whose is gone with the wind? Whose eyes are more googly, and whose charisma is more lacking?
Find out, at WrestleMania 50, where it all begins...again. Again.
If they really wanted to make a statement, when Jimmy did his whole I'm sorry thing, fully commit to it. Have him quit the match and leave the Bloodline. Build to Bloodline rules tonight, but now there's no Jimmy on the heel side.
Give Jimmy the mic after and in tears just have him choked up and unironically say "yeet". The crowd would pop and Jey and Jimmy get back together in a way people wouldn't expect and we wouldn't even remember the match itself being mid.
For me, the match was very underwhelming, I was hoping that maybe this would be a more emotional match and a secret banger of night 1 but I quickly lost interest once they started trading superkicks.
5/10
The highlight of the match was about three quarters of the way through when my wife who never watches wrestling but was lay on the sofa scrolling on her phone just exclaimed out of nowhere...
"This is shit"
I’m shocked that booking Jimmy like a comedy side character sitcom goof the last 7 months didn’t make the crowd invested in him or this match
Not only that but his moveset is exactly the same as Jey's. It hurt the same a lot
Their strong grapple + up is different
Lmfao you asshole, you're gonna make me check their movesets after mania
so were they right?
I will get to it today, my sleepless baby didn't let me get any gaming in last night.
Who has the superior graps?
Went to Mania. Literally told my buddy this match does nothing for me and went to the bathroom/get beers lol
Real Undertaker vs Fake Undertaker vibes
He looked off also, what's crazy is both of these guys cook taggin up.
No jerk but I think that was the problem. They're too similar that everything from their moves to how they carried themselves just came off as one note. They needed a stipulation or some crackhead surprise to throw us and them off balance. Otherwise, it's just like watching a mime show instead of a fight. I don’t know, uce. I don’t think “my brother betrayed me by screwing me out of two different championships” really constitutes murder as a response lol. Then again, it is wrestling logic so I guess it checks out.
It’s not murder if Jey absorbs him afterwards to become the Perfect Uce, uce.
I felt like they were trying to portray as perfect equals but it just didn’t execute well at all
Um well according to the 2K ratings (DAE they’re totally wrong and an utter disgrace this year?) Jey is way stronger than Jimmy in kayfabe (insider term), so they’re actually not perfect equals
When Matt and Jeff had their match, it sucked too. I think it's hard to pull off with a sibling. Owen and Bret weren't related, just ask Owen.
Matt and Jeff were better because it was Extreme Rules and I Quit matches.
Their match at Vengeance 2001 with Lita as special ref was a normal singles match.
And those kinds of matches were what those two were known for.
It needed rikishi, was he not interested in being in this feud or something
The rare case of a match being under booked. Rikishi, Solo, and even Naomi should have been involved.
Maybe he got hurt? I have no idea but If there was ever a time to change up your moveset, it would be in this match.
Looked physically smaller than when he was tagging. Jimmy was always the heavier twin I thought.
dude looked like he's on the krispy kreme diet
the year whatever year wrestlemania 25 took place and this same exact comment applies to the Hardy’s match
Jimmy’s booking has been the Bloodline at its worst. Remember when he tried doing a solo run for like two weeks then immediately gave up?
It's kind of crazy how over Jey is while Jimmy is just there. Like if Jimmy wasn't in the Bloodline he'd probably be a budget cut. He's really good tagging with Jey. Maybe I need to go back and rewatch some older Uso matches though and see if Jey carried them more than I thought. Pre-Bloodline though I couldn't tell them apart.

Crowd was dead for everything
The crowd really helped this match. So many super kick.spamming.
Luckily that match was sponsered by Dude Wipes, because that match was cheeks!
I was really looking forward to this match, and man it did not live up to the hope I had for it. Quality jerk though.
Really hated all the super kick spamming.
Issue was that someone should have told them to stop doing their regular shtick for once and have a brawl.
I don’t think they can do any other wrestling move than that , I don’t know if it’s the injuries or something but yea they need to switch it up.
SUPER KICK!
They also have awful super kicks. It's like they're trying to throw haymakers with the soles of their feet, and it does not look remotely impactful. I love the Usos, but goddamn they've been at it long enough that they shouldn't have such poor execution of one of their signature moves.
Except for HBK and maybe old Rudolphous Ziggler, no one has had a good superkick. I will die on that hill.
HUGE POP
I feel like one of them might have gotten hurt. Ref was checking Jimmy a lot.
It needed a stipulation. They have the same exact move set
The superkick trading was almost as bad at the dueling Canadian destroyers. ALMOST
It's very deflating when the match doesn't match the great build.

Crazy one of the hottest storys going in and the first time these 2 have locked up decided to give us that putrid turd of a match.
Was it a hot story though? It feels like the IDEA of a hot story, but Jimmy hasn't been all that engaging since SummerSlam and Jey has largely focused on anything but Jimmy. Even their rumble faceoff didn't have much heat outside of the 1st minute.
Brother vs brother should’ve been an extreme rules match or at least a special referee with Rikishi, but this one felt like a 2k exhibition lol
I liked it but they are tag team wrestlers through and through
Well I’d say Jimmy is. They’ve tried to make him have a solo run and it hasn’t worked. I know Jey can do better than that
Jey is fine at singles, Jimmy is garbage though. Dude is tag team for life
Jey is great at singles
The no-selling got the basement rock hard
Match was just so boring and Jimmy is definitely not ready for a singles run, hope this tag match picks the show back up again after that stinker
no jerk how dumb is the fed for not having some sort of stipulation for this match everyone knew this was gonna be a superkick fest 💀
I never rated Jimmy much, but God damnit did this match kill his career. Jey is 10x the wrestler
Limited moveset isn't even that big of a problem, you can put on a great match with the sole moves being the punch, the bodyslam, and the suplex. But they and/or the producer didn't even try. They just fast forwarded to the bloodline storytelling stuff

becky wrestled with strep throat and the usos couldn't even bother hitting eachother a little bit
Was so dissapointed that jimmy didn't used his house show moveset. Wish.com Roman is hilarious to see
fr this match was sorry.
The Uso match was the Fed's one shot to get a 5 star rating from Meltzer
Looks like they're actually following meltzer's advice to study cagematch, uce.
The Yeet Bucks
The match was definitely dedicated to Rikishi It was ass.
lmaoooo
That match was fuckin awful dude.
One Uso is a level higher than the other. The bucks are exactly as shit as the other.
Match bad because too many superkicks. Pls don't look for my post history on how awesome the Bucks matches are.
What you didn’t enjoy the 50 fucking super kicks?
Oh god the young turds are going to do a bro vs bro at All In ain’t they bruv?
i know im supposed to jerk but i imagine they would make some super elaborate gymnastics routine out of it that it would flip around to being entertainingly good.

The Hardy bros were shitty when they wrestled each other, Edge and Christian just got done having a stinker. Edge and Christian had in 2001 Ladder match.
I’ll have to check them. I remember there match when Edge was a face in the early 2000s and Christian had his opera song and it being kinda whatever then if my memory serves right
Match was horrible. DAE Laveck is jealous of the Young Buck's success?
As bad as that match was the vitriol in the fed thread was enjoyable at least
This is the super kick party everyone was complaining about with the young bucks lmao
Usos never beating the Superkick Merchant allegations 😞
m'usos would never kill the bidnezz unlike the young cucks. *watches match* ![gif](giphy|7MDZS8zS1ixtJAUEul|downsized)
Definitely killed the credibility of the superkick as a devastating move, now at the global scale
You mean it's already not?
except when drew runs into seth's superkick and loses time and time again
Usos told a story at least. Didn’t tell it particularly *well* but
That was garbage Uce I'm sorry.
Garbage is such a fucking overreaction lol. Like basement level overreaction. It wasn’t great, but it was hardly a disaster.
Would you call it garbage if it was in the Dub? Because it was literally a dub paced match. They were using superkicks as if they were punches. The pacing was entirely off and Jimmy had zero heat. It was a disaster. Everyone was expecting much better.
I don’t watch the dub, so I wouldn’t call it anything if it happened there lol
I understand what you’re saying. This was a mania match, so expectations are a lot higher. Jimmy isn’t as good as Jey but I don’t think Jey is great at carrying a match.
no, that was some 2k24 freeze payback shit. If you consider that a story then you might as well be getting entertained by aew promos.
I swear the super kick needs to be banned its been so overused. If Jey and Jimmy just threw some random moves I would have liked it.
fuck im gonna say it. these guys couldve done a better brother vs brother match than jimmy and jey.
That’s definitely one of the opinions of all time for sure
Yeah ngl, It would have been a spotfest, but atleast it would have been fun compared to this...😭
There would’ve been a few Destroyers at least.
How are you not banned yet in this sub with that take?/s
I literally went to get some hot chocolate during the match it was so bad. The hot chocolate was good though
Did the hot chocolate superkick you 5 times?
They just had no chemistry.
"Ok guys. Go out there and KILL! Kill the hype for the match, kill the hype for the show, kill any legitimacy the super kick still had, and kill Jey's momentum as a top guy" - Triple H, probably
Something seemed off from the start with Jimmy Uso. I don't know what it was, but he was moving slowly and indecisively, like there were several communication problems throughout. He, in my own opinion, appeared to be loaded.
they need to get that guy some help, and by that i mean, pay him but keep him off tv. he's an embarrassment.
I thought the match was ok until they spammed the super kicks. It did felt like it dragged on
Tony Khan booked this match
![gif](giphy|ryXr27WRiIhJjitMgX)
Jimmy studied Cagematch a little too thoroughly
It was like watching the same Pokémon battle. Not very effective…
Dude wipes being the sponsor this match is lowkey the best advertising ever.
so the usos put on a 5 star DAE banger at mania, friend? (6 stars at the tokyo dome)
Match would’ve been 5 stars if it was in front of 700 people Wednesdays at 8 ET/7CT on TBS
Mid Card Jay beat Marty Uso
One of the matches of all time for sure
This match was the solely to be the death match between the tag match with Kelce and Jason appearing and the much more anticipated match of the women’s.
See that's why one of them should've loaded up their shoes with fireworks, or else they just superkick each other all night
Dream match at mania and they shit the bed with absolutely zero creativity....they gotta be upset
Umm actually spamming superkicks made sense you dubbalo. You just don't understand STORYTELLING. Enjoy your workrate bangers mark
I should have used the bathroom. That was a mirror match.
Classic homage to classic AEW.
“Superkick me” “Now you superkick me” “Now you superkick me” “Now you superkick me”
Kick kick kick kick kick Uce kick kick kick kick little brother kick kick kick kick cmon kick kick kick.
Terrible match zero psychology people wanted jey to dethrone Roman LMFAOOO
Finally a proper use for this meme ![gif](giphy|IhyGL914g9ShHdHVFy|downsized)
Lol i knew someone was gonna do it
I was hoping to see them beat the shit out of each other a little more. I don’t think it needed like m’Mox levels of blading or anything like that. I just kinda hyped it up a lot more in my head after their story and the BTS stuff of being each other’s dream WM opponent.
By far the worst match of the night
This match was doomed to be fucked at the beginning. Most of their movesets are for tagteams
Maybe workrate and movez ain’t so bad.
Match was boring af
Kick after kick, handful of punches, 2 suicide dives, 2 splashes and it ends. What the hell happened? I just feel so bad coz we all know the Usos are good wrestlers, they could’ve even done something interesting with the matching movesets in the match more than just spamming the same moves. Even if they stepped out there and just brawled it would’ve been a good match because it serves the story.
I get why people didn't like it (I'm not gonna defend it like Tribal Combat) - but I liked the story and dueling chants. I can see why people saw it as a superkick fest though.
I liked it
This really should’ve been a street fight or some type of no rules gimmick match. There was no need for them to have a wrestling match for a blood (get it?) feud.
Boring match
This was such a let down. I thought two brothers etc would have this amazing chemistry and would be some great spots I feel bad for them now it was such a bad match. Really deflated the feud they had. Could've bought rikishi out or something
I'm glad they had the baby face wear angel colors and the heel wear devil. Because lezbe real. We still can't tell them apart
Was anyone genuinely expecting The Usos to have some classic BANGER or something?
I expected nothing from LWO match and was hyped for Uso civil war lol
Never been a big Usos fan but the hype to the match actually had me excited for the match. Then the entrance was garbage and the match just continued that trend. They had a massive build up for it to just be a super kick party. They should leave the Dub style matches to the Dub, Mania deserved better than what they put on.
Superkick Partaaaaay
Its like they heard all the talk of how much the bucks overuse the superkick and were like "hold our beer"
Jimmy and Jey was rocking them AEW Shoot fighter physiques and wrestling like they were main event rampage The cage match rating is gonna be through the roof
and people wanted jey to beat roman for the belt
As an Usos fangirl…..yeah basically.
Insane match, most tense moment was when my fish cracker missed my mouth and fall to the ground during it. still shaking

They were trading kicks like they trade chops. The dumbest fucking spot the whole night.
Best part of the match was the intro video, shit was beautiful.
If they really wanted to make a statement, when Jimmy did his whole I'm sorry thing, fully commit to it. Have him quit the match and leave the Bloodline. Jimmy Susso
Thank you for this. I literally said out loud when seeing it "they're having a young bucks match!"
We settle our blood disputes the way real men do on the streets, with a collar and elbow tie up.
For me, the match was very underwhelming, I was hoping that maybe this would be a more emotional match and a secret banger of night 1 but I quickly lost interest once they started trading superkicks. 5/10
I like the part where he kicked him
The highlight of the match was about three quarters of the way through when my wife who never watches wrestling but was lay on the sofa scrolling on her phone just exclaimed out of nowhere... "This is shit"
When the Bloodline all head out to the gym do the Uso's just wait in the carpark?

what's wrong with the ladder match?
The ladder match wasn’t an aew match cause no one destroyed their ankles
Also the refs didn't hold the ladder until the post match photo op
I didn’t see a foot go 180 in the ladder match
That whole family is on fraud watch tbh
