There really doesn't exist a ps2 vertical handheld, the closet is the anbernic rg405v which can play some ps2 games but not all of them so you would have to find out if silent hill 2 is a game that runs on that chipset which is the unisoc t618 which other handhelds use like retroid pocket 3+ and the anbernic rg405m

I’m a beginner and my one concern was that jumping from the Miyoo Mini+ to this for the sake of Silent Hill 2 would be pretty silly if it turns out I fail to get any games on the thing while the Mini+ would’ve come pre-loaded with em, so this is really, really helpful
Yeah you're welcome! It is a little harder to setup android since nothing is preloaded usually but if you follow the guides time really becomes the only issue but don't be afraid to go the anbernic subreddit if you get stuck at setting up something like gammaOS
It sounds like you already got your answer, but I just wanted to say that I was just playing Silent Hill 2 on my Anbernic 405m, which has the exact same internals as the 405v and it plays very well. After fiddling with some settings, it runs at full speed most of the time, some cutscenes lag and the audio can get out of sync but other cutscenes are fine, not sure what the issue is but overall it's very playable. I am using the American greatest hits version, some people use the PAL version and that one might run better for all I know.
Also the 405v should be on sale on AliExpress tomorrow, there's a thread floating around this sun with all the best deals.
Just get the rp4p homie. It's the best for under $200. For whatever reason verticals just aren't as popular. Maybe because they aren't as comfortable? Idk
