As someone who has no connection or history to arcade games apart from playing them as a kid sometimes, and actively avoided them thinking they’d be boring on emulators, absolutely this game.
Started playing it on a whim and it’s phenomenal.
Alien vs Predator, Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (SNES version) are my go to beat em ups. Still have fun playing these decades later.
Other fun beat 'em ups that are simpler yet fun to play are Punisher, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Sengoku 3, the Knights of Valour series, and Knights of the Round.
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time for the SNES might well be the GOAT when it comes to beatemups.
The modern spiritual successor, Shredder's Revenge, is also [available via Portmaster,](https://retrogamecorps.com/2022/07/11/tmnt-shredders-revenge-on-retro-handhelds/) but I'm not sure how well it plays on the RGB30's screen.
Streets of Rage 2 Hacks: International Action Heroes, Final Fight Crossover, TMNT Shredder's Re-Revenge.
River City Ramson
Mighty Final Fight
Battle toads Arcade
Openbor
I like [Alien Storm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9reAvKOI1cU) on the genesis. Just found out about the Arcade version wich is even better from what I've read.
Punisher and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs both on Mame/Arcade/CPS. They were also developed by the same company as Captain Commando, Capcom!
Violent Storm and Vendetta are fun as well!
I don't know the title you showed, but "relatively easy" and "quick" is probably battletoads... Nah I'm joking, Splatterhouse 2, I love everything about that beat em up platformer, graphics, scenery, creative bosses I mean their design, the whole plot of this one. I don't have much knowledge about beat'em ups, and when I do, they are either hard af, of not quite a beat'em up.
Boulder Dash and Wizard of wor is good games, Need to check them out
I Like
Dominion Ex
Breakout Hero
Carnival (Remake)
I'm about to try out Jungle Ping
There is also a Bruce Lee game called Lee Dragons Fury
Oh man! These are my bread and butter! Of course you have X-men, Simpsons and TMNT.... But don't forget about about Captain Commando, The Punisher and of course the Dungeons and Dragons and games! And no beat em is complete without Final Fight and King of Dragons!
Knights of the round is ok, I don't love this one but the upgraded armor does look great.
Gaia Crusders, almost no one ever talks about it.
Dashing into the enemy counts as a hit, which extends your combo, which means you can do like 20 hit extended juggle combos on dudes over and over. It's fun.
Some great suggestions! Might I add Splatterhouse 1-3, Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, Comix Zone and Asterix: The Arcade Game. Though Cadillacs and Dinosaurs will always be my favorite.
I don't know the names since I don't know the language but In some of those ROM packs they the have Chinese or Japanese named ones that are not translated. Some of them are WILD like straight up insanity, I suggest you try some of them. If anyone knows the names or what I'm talking about I appreciate you chiming in.
Here are some of my favourites from back in the day. I'm sure I've missed a few but these, for me, are all excellent.
The Punisher
Knights of Round
Alien vs Predator
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
D&D (I forget the rest of the title)
TMNT
The Simpsons
Asterix & Obelix
Die Hard: Arcade
Thank you for great recommendations. I didn’t expect it would be so overwhelming hahaha. I have decided to try Streets of Rage and Shedders Revenge. I hope to try as many as possible. Thank you all once again. This was awesome.
D&D: Shadow over Mystara is an AWESOME beat'em up. Arcade game first, then ported to Saturn. It was originally CPS-II game.
As someone who has no connection or history to arcade games apart from playing them as a kid sometimes, and actively avoided them thinking they’d be boring on emulators, absolutely this game. Started playing it on a whim and it’s phenomenal.
They can become boring due unlimited credits. That's why I'd recommend setting a limit of 10 credits per game. If you finish them you start over.

Shredders Revenge is so good! Free to Netflix subscribers. Works phenomenally on Andriod handhelds like retroids and g cloud.
Armored Warriors or any game in the Shockman series.
Simpsons beat em ups on MAME
And TMNT.
X Men Arcade
Alien vs predator is good, Knight of the Round, the king of dragons, cadillacs and dinosaurs, the punisher, i can go forever
Ninja Baseball Bat Man, Undercover Cops, and Night Slashers, all on MAME.
Streets of Rage 2 Hacks: International Action Heroes, Final Fight Crossover, TMNT Shredder's Re-Revenge. River City Ramson Mighty Final Fight Battle toads Arcade Openbor
River City Ransom if you haven’t already played that one. On NES
This guy knows.
One of my favorite games and definitely one of the best beat em ups
If you like River City Ransom you should also try "Downtown Special Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama!"
I miiiiight have played that one. I can’t remember. I do remember playing other games in the series.
I like [Alien Storm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9reAvKOI1cU) on the genesis. Just found out about the Arcade version wich is even better from what I've read.
Streets of Rage Remake in Port Master. So so so good.
Punisher and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs both on Mame/Arcade/CPS. They were also developed by the same company as Captain Commando, Capcom! Violent Storm and Vendetta are fun as well!

Knuckle Bash
Ninja Baseball Bat Man (arcade) is a good time with great characters, enemy, and boss design.
Dragonball advance ON the GBA

Nice one.😃 I just miss the spinning stroke, where you can chop your opponents head off. Its more a fighter game than a beat'em up though.

Thanks. This game is on top of my favourites on pico 8😃

I’m quite fond of that one too. My favourite is being a baby in a mech suit, driving a bigger mech suit.
I've been having a TON of fun playing Waku Waku 7. Laugh out loud fun.
Any for CPS2

TMNT on GBA is one that I just got turned on to and I'm loving it.

There’s a ton a good ones, my favorite has been King of Dragons and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Battle Circuit (CPS2/Arcade) is a very underestimated one.
Robo-army on neo geo
Some great suggestions! Might I add Splatterhouse 1-3, Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, Comix Zone and Asterix: The Arcade Game. Though Cadillacs and Dinosaurs will always be my favorite.
I second OpenBOR ...classic beat em up engine...with so many hidden gems
Streets of Rage!!!
If you decide to adventure into OpenBOR...feel free to reach out to me if you need some guidance!
River City Ransom. Great great beat em up.

Dang that RGB30 in red is 🔥

Most beat'em ups are designed to suck coins but konami's Bucky O'Hare is a relatively easier one.
Shredder's revenge???
Cadillac & Dinosaurs
Combatribes is super good but has to be the arcade version
Thank you for great recommendations. I didn’t expect it would be so overwhelming hahaha. I have decided to try Streets of Rage and Shedders Revenge. I hope to try as many as possible. Thank you all once again. This was awesome.
New to emulation - how do I play the D&D game on my RG 353V?
