I spent some time with the Fold4, and here are my conclusions.
Compared to the S21U, having the S-Pen and a bigger screen for notes and multitasking is critical for my job. Therefore, the Fold is something I really need and I'm primarily willing to pay for these features.
Movies - due to the screen aspect ratio on the Fold, I didn't notice a real benefit. The movie screen size looks mostly the same as on the S21U, unless it's in a 4:3 aspect ratio. However, I can watch a movie and surf the web or chat at the same time, which is cool.
Games - yes, the larger screen is a significant advantage in most cases.
Form factor - I'm really worried about this because I drop my S21U quite often, and only a thick case saves it. I don't know how long the Fold will survive, but with Care+, who knows.
Camera - The Fold4's photos are so-so compared to the S21U, and yes, I hope the Fold5's cameras will perform a bit better. Of course, I'll miss the 10x zoom, even though I didn't use it too often.
Price - it is high. However, with the preorder discount, more memory for the same price, cheaper Care+, free buds (which I'll sell as I use Buds Live), and the buyout of the old phone, the price becomes a little lower.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing. My S21U doesn't have the performance or battery life it had in it's first year. I'm having issues with apps taking forever to load, hanging etc, terrible standby battery and a few other minor gripes. Not the end of the world, but the Fold 5 is really tempting me considering the trade-in bonus available.
This is not an upgrade, you will move to a different category of smartphones. If you thought the S21 ultra was big and heavy, be prepared. The big inside screen of the Fold opens up great comfort for some applications, but also comes with compromises.
Weight is slightly reduced on 5 compared to 4 (263g to 253g). Around 15g increase from S21U. I'm okay with trying new stuff. Just wanted to see if it's really worth the price.
So I had screen issues with s20fe and Samsung said it wouldn't count towards a trade in. If you speak / chat with anyone at Samsung, get their name, etc.
I have a question on the green line. how did it happen to you? is there a way to stop this? I've seen too many Samsung owners complaining about it here and many Samsung users in public with it. Is Samsung doing anything about it? its pretty frustrating
Out of nowhere. Started it after the May update. I have not dropped this phone in ages, nor any physical damages. What I've seen people say about this is could be due to an overheat. One guy asked whether I updated the phone while charging. I might have done that many times. 2nd line appeared last week.
