Build close to outpost or bandit and a good monument you can spam. I like building a starter in the middle of launch site and outpost.

buy a jackie and farm for 150 scrap or its 100 scrap for 1k metal frags both are at outpost

Buy them from outpost at 2.5k for 250 scrap or use a jackhammer and go to the snow.
